[18OCT14] PMDG 777-200LR/F and 777-300ER SP1C Updates Released
A big thank you! Consider simrate problems nonexistent! It's always worth the wait for your products. Thanks again. Paul

[09OCT14] PMDG 777 200/300 SP1c is pending...
Greatly appreciate the update, thank you. Paul

SP1c
As do I! What concerns me most about the upcoming (or at least I hope...) release of SP1c is that we were given a date of release. Typically when PMDG actually gives a specific date (September 26) they deliver on that date. In this case, PMDG has missed the date and has said nothing as to why. This isn't a case of "it'll be done when we're happy with it", this is we have the plane where we want it to now, and you can expect it by the date given. I also think the very long process of finally releasing SP1 only for it to introduce a new issue of which we now seem to be in the same situation as the initial SP1 release (waiting and waiting with very few to no updates on progress and reasons for delays) is what is testing my patience most. I am staying patient thanks mostly to the NGX. Paul

SP1c
Good points, but yea the A to B is what interests me most. Although I do like the ideas. As for A to B flights, the nice looking payware airports I own aren't that close together . Appreciate the suggestions though, I'm remaining patient but looking forward to getting simrate working again. Paul

SP1c
Prior to SP1 it was the trim issues that made approaches particularly frustrating, but I tolerted that issue for awhile, but eventually decided to wait on SP1. SP1 fixed that issue but introduced the simrate and time compression issue. Unfortunately, flying legs at up to 4x simrate is not ideal nor really doable for me. Often when I get a chance to fly I usually have only a couple of hours. So to perform flights without being able to simulate at 8x or 16x to me is frustrating. My flying of the 777 post SP1 has been all circuit flying. I've abandoned this for awhile though waiting for SP1c and using the NGX instead. It was a fair question, hope the answer doesn't seem too ridiculous to you but that's just how it feels for me. Paul

SP1c
That's great for you, unfortunately for me and numerous others the issues which SP1c is supposed to fix are impairing enough that flying the plane is a bit frustrating. I have yet to enjoyably fly the 777 due to the various bugs (which are slowly being eliminated, slowly). Do these bugs make the plane unflyable? Not at all. But they do make the experience frustrating enough (at least for me) that I haven't bothered in a long time. Paul

SP1c
I'm guessing he is on the test team for SP1c and therefore knows it wil not be releasing on the date it was set for release. I'm fine with being told upfront by Kyle that it won't be releasing, but I would still like to hear from PMDG if missing the date for release is just for minor touch-ups, and when we can expect SP1c. I hope we are not in for another month of waiting around without any updates... Paul

Excellent thank you for the update it's much appreciated. I anxiously await SP1c for 777! Paul

Problems with time compression 8x
Unfortunately whether the issue is resolved or not has not been determined. If the issue was resolved we would already have SP1c! We shouldn't say that the issue has been resolved. PMDG says they plan to resolve this issue in an upcoming SP1c update, however that information was provided back in early August. It has been quite some time since then and we are yet to hear if the issue is any closer to being resolved. Since PMDG has gone quiet on the matter, I take it they are hard at work trying to resolve it. The length of time since the last update concerns me this is a difficult issue to resolve and that the fix won't be provided anytime soon. Sorry to be pessimistic but it's been now nearly 2 months since SP1 was released. Prior to SP1, numerous issues made the plane unflyable for myself. I have barely flown this beautiful plane since I purchased it on the date of release... Here we are a year later and the plane is still unflyable for myself. Not trying to blow things out of proportion here, just would appreciate an update and when we can expect to receive SP1c. Paul

Problems with time compression 8x
I'll agree, it's been awhile seen we've heard anything on this issue. Are we any closer to having it solved? Paul

Problems with time compression 8x
Yes PMDG suggests that. For the sake of responding to our issue Rob is stating that he has the 777 flying at 16x simrate without issue. That doesn't mean he is suggesting to do this at all times in contradiction to Tutorial 1. If you are referring to the suggestion in Tutorial 1 of increasing up to 8x auto time-compression, Rob's statement is still not contradictory because the issue persists at 8x simrate as well as at 16x. Regardless, PMDG have recognized this issue as stated on their Facebook page, and will be trying to resolve it through SP1c. I just hope we get SP1c sooner rather than later. My 777 has been parked for a long long time. Paul

Problems with time compression 8x
Any progress on discovering the cause of this issue? Paul

- Problems with time compression 8x
Yes, that sounds like it. Actually when you're in the sim and you start to see the FMC counting up as oppose to down to the next waypoint, check your map in the alt menu to see your flight path. You'll notice you actually are heading the other way and the plane has done a 180 degree turn. So when it's counting up, it's because you actually are increasing your distance to the next waypoint. Very curious issue this is I will say. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Yes it is safe to assume that. It's because the plane cannot stay on course at 8x+, for reasons yet discovered, that auto time compression lowers the simrate to get the plane back on course. It is essentially the same issue, which is the plane cannot stay on course simulating at 8x+. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Thanks again for the help Rob, I'm sure this will get sorted out. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
I appreciate the help! While I'm not eliminating the possibility that it has something to do with my setup or config, it just seems odd how only the 777X after updating to SP1 has this issue (NGX is stable as is 777X base pack). I've already tried disabling FSUIPC, updating FSUIPC, running flights with no weather, with weather, and a clean install of the 777X. The only thing I am yet to try is a clean install of FSX (which I would prefer not to do...). I will stay tuned for sure as the 777X is a tremendous add-on and I would love to use it fully. Thank you again. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Problem is there with HDG SEL as well. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
After updating to latest FSUIPC the issue still persists. Behaviour of the plane is the same as in the video. I believe many of us in this thread have eliminated every option that isn't do to with SP1 itself. Controllers, weather, FSUIPC, etc. Prior to SP1, the plane is perfectly stable at 16x, after SP1, it's all over the place. This is without any changes to setup or configuration, the only change is installing SP1. I feel if it was FSUIPC related or something else external to SP1, then I would experience similar issues simulating at 16x with the NGX or the 777X base pack. This is not the case. The NGX is super stable at 16x on my setup as is the base pack of the 777X. Thanks again for the suggestion, though. I hope this gets resolved soon. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Thanks for the reply, yes that was one of the first things I noticed as being very off. I tried disabling FSUIPC already, but I will try updating FSUIPC as per your suggestion. Thanks again for the suggestion. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Set your auto-time compression for up to 4x in the FMC. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Did not work for me either unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though, Richard. Looks like the 777 is getting parked until this gets sorted out... Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Glad that solved it for you! I'll give it a shot later today, although not expecting a miracle. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Anyone try anything we haven't thought of that might be a simple fix? Seems odd how some (including Rob) are reporting stable simulating at 16x. I can't get the thing to stay on track for longer than 20 seconds. Paul- Problems with time compression 8x
Yep, have tried those as well. Hopefully we get a response from the dev team soon of what they think might be going on. It seems like 8-16x simrate is working for some, and it isn't for others. Makes me wonder what the culprit is. Also NGX is still functioning just great simulating at 16x. Paul - Problems with time compression 8x
