Help needed with patch problems.
Hello, I realise that your post is old, but I've recently bought the V35B and I've since been browsing this forum! I too have had problems since installing this patch off the official Carenado web site. Surprisingly, it appears that the patch seems to cause two problems: Some of the external lights no longer work, and The orange plane is no longer available. The former is dealt with elsewhere in this forum - copying the relevant section from the original config file and pasting it into the patch config file. Similarly for the orange plane - copy and paste. Hope that helps anyone who has had the same difficulties. This is the first time I've bought an addon plane, and I chose Carenado because of its reputation, and indeed it is excellent in terms of sound, visuals, and handling (although I have been surprised by all sorts of things not working right).

Starting the V35B from cold and dark
Hello Not sure if the above reply solved the problem, but I couldn't get the engine to start manually either. However I have discovered that if you keep the starter engaged for longer (keep the key fully turned for longer) it eventually starts for me. By the way, I have found that neither the starter-engaged light nor the alternator light illuminate. Anyone know a fix for this?

Let them write
I hardly ever write on forums, and I don't even have Flight on my computer. But I began looking at the AVSIM forum a few months ago, in particular to read comments about Flight. During that brief time, I have once or twice been a little surprised about the moderation, although I have not really given it that much thought. I don't know how it compares with other forums, but I now have quite a distinct impression that AVSIM is good for all things flightsim, but it's really getting quite heavily moderated, and you have to be really careful not to criticise a product. I'm grateful for AVSIM as it makes for interesting reading, when you have some time to spare, but if you're going to provide a forum, you should allow discussion and debate, including pointing out areas of concern regarding a product - For example, some people do have concerns about "no cockpits", which is a valid point I think, but it's now clear those people are no longer wanted as members. There's a danger that AVSIM will appear to "have no respect" for those people with any sort of criticism to express. There's lots of positive things to say about Flight it seems, but to dismiss any adverse comments is like saying "I know better than you". Yes putting a stop on specific criticisms that have been aired numerous times already would be alright, but, with due respect, not allowing any mention of new concerns that may arise in future (as long as they are put in a civil manner) would seem a little unusual for a forum I would think.

Bell JetRanger no startup sound
Upon starting the default JetRanger, there is no startup sound. There is a file "bell_startup" in the sound folder, that sounds very nice when played through Media Player, but it does not play in FSX. This has been raised before in forums by others, but I've yet to see a solution. Upon shutdown, that sound plays fine ("bell_shutdown"). Seems like some kind of bug, and I wonder if anyone has a solution - it would make the startup more realistic.
