  1. I was using the Asus AMD HD 7870 and had no AA problems what-so-ever. None. It was excelent but it had only 2 Gig memory. In weather at large airports that had a large amount of graphis (FSDreamteam and other add-on airports), there was pretty nasty stuttering. The stuttering was a big issue with me. So, I bought a Asus GTX670 with 4 gig to take care of the stuttering problem. It did exactly that. BUT, as far as I can tell, Nvidia has a problem handling AA. No matter what I try, I still get AA even with the latest drivers. It's new so I will play with it a little more but so far, in my opinion, quality AA is not as good as the Asus HD 7870. The Asus 7870 was so good I had set it and forgot it so I don't remember the 3D settings in Catilist. PM me if you wish.
  2. I think you two may have solved my problem. I have two monitors. One for the 2D and the VC. The other is strictly used for instrumentation. My ole eyes are not what they used to be and it's easier for me to see the avionics on a separate monitor. I also just made a test flight out of FSDreamteams KDFW (high graphics) and a lot of rain and clouds. The FPS was abysmal. I noticed the further away from all the graphics, the FPS picked and by the time I reached Florida, (no rain or clouds and a standard FSX airport) it was maxed at the limit of 30. I'm thinking the 4 GB GTX 670 instead of the 2GB might do the trick. The price difference is minuscule. Does this sound feasable? Thanks
  3. While I'm satisfied with the Asus HD7870 with Catalyst for most of the flights, it has a problem with heavy overcast clouds. A lot of stuttering especially taxis in turns and some stuttering climbing to altitude in and around the clouds. Clear days pose no problems. A minor stutter here and there but nothing major. I have tried everything I can think of the alleviate this annoying problem. REX cloud textures are at 1024x1024. I have also tried the HDEv2 textures. Same results. I've been reading that the AMD cards may or may not have a problem with clouds in FSX. I can normally figure this stuff out but I need to ask for opinions on a replacement graphic card or opinions on this stuttering problem. The card I am looking at to replace the HD7870 is the Asus GTX670-DC2-2GD5 GeForce GTX 670 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0x16 HDCP Ready. I'm ok replacing the card if need be but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, they would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. I have just switched to DX10 and have noticed a problem with the heading and course bugs. In DX9, hovering with the mouse on either of the bugs will give you the heading in a popup text box. Once on DX10, this feature goes away. Since my ole eyes are not like they use to be, it makes it kinda hard seeing the actual heading. Just wondering if anyone else has ever noticed this and maybe know of a fix? Thanks
  5. It's been released as of today. It's on their site now.
  6. Exactly. I have mine fixed. I added it to the existing conversation for info only. In aircraft.cfg, changing the first parameter in InitialXyz = 1.5, 0.5, -4.2 in [CameraDefinition.0] from 1.5 to 1.8, InitialXyz = 1.8, 0.5, -4.2 is a permanent fix. I don't use Directx10 preview.
  7. Hi John.. Oh I can get it to go away and it doesn't bother me in any way. I just posted it thinking Carenado wasn't aware of it. Not a problem for me. Thanks
  8. Looks like an older thread but there are still some transparent "parts" that I can see. I currently have several Carenado aircraft. The Cessna T210, Baron 58, King Air C90B, Mooney 201, 208 Caravan and the 340. Out of these aircraft, only 2 have transparent tail sections. The Baron 58 and the Cessna T210. I did have one occurrence only, of a total transparent aircraft. I cannot duplicate that one time occurrence again. I use the CH Yoke and I believe it's Key 5 or Button 9 - Slew (Freeze all movement) that will show these anomalies. Both are from the right rear of the aircraft looking forward. Not really a problem for me but maybe someone should take a look. Attached a couple of pictures.
