  1. Dear all, Perhaps some of you have already noticed that my project page for my photoreal sceneries is no longer accessible. The reason for this is relatively simple: I have decided with a heavy heart to discontinue this project after about 8 years. Believe me, I really didn't take the decision lightly, in the end it was the following reasons that spoke in favour of shutting down the servers: 1. financing. Unfortunately, the server costs had not been covered by donations for almost 2 years, in this year 2024 the total ‘donation’ sum was 0 €, in contrast to server costs in the three-digit range. I had already stopped developing new sceneries some time ago for the same reason. The development of a single country alone cost an average of 200-400 € just in electricity costs. 2. although all my sceneries were available free of charge, the download links have recently been passed on very often, so for some time now downloads have also appeared from regions where I never had a request for my sceneries. In some cases I changed the download links again, I don't want and didn't want scenery downloads from Russia or Iran. Unfortunately, this takes up a lot of time that could be used for other things. 3. friendliness. I don't think I need to write much here, the following PN I received a few weeks ago speaks for itself: ‘Give me all your sceneries! it can't be that you have to ask for download links!’ Yes, that was the whole PN. 1:1 copy-and-paste. 4. demand. Since the release of MSFS2020, the interest in my sceneries has constantly decreased. Whereas about a year ago I was allowed to give out several download links almost every day, last month there were exactly 2. And it's just not worth keeping the servers running. I hope this makes it a little easier to understand why I have switched off the servers and I also hope that nobody will take offence. From time to time the question arose as to why I didn't bring the sceneries into the MSFS2020. Unfortunately, the answer was never particularly well received, but nothing has changed in the matter: As much as I would like to do so: on the one hand, however, there is no need, as the MSFS is already based on satellite imagery anyway, which is simply much higher resolution and more up-to-date due to constant streaming, which I can provide, and on the other hand, it is simply not possible to add new aerial imagery to such large areas with the MSFS SDK. However, the core focus of my sceneries has always been on the autogen. And here, too, the MSFS is simply better, as the detection of vegetation and buildings was carried out using large servers and convolutional neural networks. Even though I myself have used CNNs on rather small areas, my sceneries simply cannot keep up here. So there's not too much left for me to say at this point, except: MANY THANKS to all who have supported my sceneries and me in the last years, financially as well as with know-how or simply with their interest and favour in my sceneries. THANK YOU for that!
  2. Dear all, Just in time for Easter, I've got another big batch of scenery for you. This time I've mainly been travelling in southern Asia. But let's start with the Arabian Peninsula, where two countries are still outstanding. First of all Kuwait: ... and Qatar: Then we move on to the country that borders Iran and Afghanistan: Pakistan! And then comes my highlight for today... Probably the most complicated scenery I've ever built. India! More than 1 billion (!) buildings have been placed. To the north is Nepal, with its fantastic mountain airfields: And of course Bhutan is not to be missed! In the south of India lies the island of Sri Lanka: And finally, Bangladesh: As always, you can find all the information here: https://www.fsxforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=19503 Otherwise - please write me a private message, as always! 🙂 But there is one thing I would like to get rid of in any case: At the moment I assume that these were the last sceneries I created for the P3D world. Even I now use the MSFS 99% of the time, and with the release of a long-haul aircraft for the MSFS, the 99 % will certainly become 100 %. At the same time, I can also see that interest in my sceneries has really, really declined over the last year. Whereas about a year ago I was answering up to 10 PMs a day, now it's maybe 1-2 a week. So - from my side, a very, very big THANK YOU to all of you for all your support! Nevertheless - nothing is set in stone yet, and the servers will continue to run for the time being. I wish you all a wonderful Easter!
  3. Dear all, It's been quiet again for a few months. But I've finished a few countries again - 12 to be precise! But I would like to start today with something very important, namely an apology! I had also expressed my initial suspicions here, and after a very nice e-mail communication with FC Scenery, all suspicions were more than dispelled. My suspicion was simply based on various coincidences, such as the use of the same software and data sources and the coincidence of releases. But my suspicions were unjustified! It is therefore only fair that I apologise to the FC Scenery team! But now to the news! I would like to start in the south-west, with the Kingdom of Jordan! We continue a little further north, with Lebanon: The next country in this region is Syria: Now we're going a bit eastwards, namely to Iraq: And the big neighbouring country, Iran: Further north are the Caucasus states, such as Armenia...: ... or Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea: On the other side of the Caspian Sea we come to Turkmenistan: Uzbekistan lies in the immediate neighbourhood: ... and even a small country like Kyrgyzstan is not far away: Tajikistan lies to the south: And finally, a big, well-known country: Afghanistan! Sooo, and that's it for the 12 countries! As always, you can find an overview map of my sceneries here: https://www.fsxforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=19503 For everything else, please write a private message as always! Have a nice weekend everyone!
  4. Another brief sign of life from me and a little insight into what I'm currently working on:
  5. Dear all, Now I can finally show you the pictures I promised! Let's start on the west coast of Africa with Equatorial Guinea: Further south, with eSwatini: ... and Lesotho: Further north we come to Zimbabwe: And to the north is Zambia: To the east we find the small, poor but actually beautiful Malawi: And Mozambique is not far away either: Madagascar can be found off the east coast of Africa: And that's Africa finished! We continue with 2 countries on the Arabian Peninsula, which close the gap here: Firstly, Yemen: And the big wide country of Saudi Arabia! And that's it for now! As always, you can find more information and the updated overview map here: https://www.fsxforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=19503 For everything else, please write a private message as usual!
  6. Dear all unfortunately it is no longer possible to upload pictures to abload.de, so I can neither show pictures nor update my overview map today. Sorry! So it's a bit dry now: Africa is complete again, Equatorial Guinea, eSwatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe are finished. A little further to the north-east, Saudi Arabia and Yemen have been added. Pictures will follow as soon as abload.de accepts uploads again. (Hopefully soon.) Otherwise, as always, more information here: https://www.fsxforum.de/viewtopic.php?p=202088 Please note that the overview map is not up to date, for possible changes please check the updates at the bottom - these are current. Have a nice pre-Christmas time and a nice weekend!
  7. Dear all, nothing new for a while - but that doesn't mean there's no news! ... Because there is quite a lot new! I'll start with 2 updates first: Argentina has been recreated - the focus here was on better photosceneries for the big cities and a lot more houses. Many millions of buildings have been added in Argentina! Similar with Uruguay. Here I have corrected the exaggerated green photo scenery around SUMU and also added many buildings in Montevideo: A few new countries have also been added - such as French Guyana And to finish South America, I have now also finished Ecuador! Central America is also ready - so Nicaragua has also been added: And finally: Oh how beautiful Panama is! I'm done with the announcements for now! As always, you can find an overview map and further information here: https://www.fsxforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=19503 ... or just write me a private message! I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
  8. Dear all! First of all I would like to deliver the pictures from Uganda: And in the meantime, another country is newly ready: Tanzania! The map is of course as always also updated. More information can be found here or via private message! https://www.fsxforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=19503 I wish you all a nice weekend!
  9. Dear All, some time ago already a short picture, today now again the full announcement! I went back to Africa - and recreated some countries there, mainly in Central Africa. Let's start with a country in the very west: Gabon! Continuing east of there, with the Republic of the Congo: And the big neighboring country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo: Further east are two smaller countries: Rwanda... ... and Burundi: Uganda is also nearby and completed, but I haven't managed to take some screenshots yet. Sorry! But one more country further south - Botswana: And with that I would be through with today's announcements even again! For more information and links please write me as always a private message. The overview map is of course updated as always: https://www.fsxforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=19503 I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
  10. Hello dear all! today a short preview, on one of the next countries: Have a great weekend everyone!
  11. That is exactly how it is. Publicly available are only the autogen packs for other photosceneries like from FTXDes. For the complete sceneries (i.e. photoscenery, autogen, night lighting...) please write me a DM.
  12. The download server seems to have been too full and something had to go.I have to recreate Spain first - that will take some time. Sorry!
  13. Well, it's not that simple - a "one for all" script simply doesn't exist. I'll even go one step further and say that a universally applicable ScenProc script that looks good *everywhere* is impossible. I write the ScenProc script for conversion dynamically for the smallest areas, but I actually only use the CreateAGN steps. The script therefore changes from agn file to agn file depending on what is in that area, what ecozone it is, what tree heights, building heights occur.... Just as an example, here's the last ScenProc-Script of my last scenery, Puerto Rico: ImportOGR|C:\Users\mknue\Desktop\agnCreator\temp\landuse.shp|*|*|NOREPROJ ImportOGR|C:\Users\mknue\Desktop\agnCreator\temp\buildings_eras.shp|*|*|NOREPROJ ImportOGR|C:\Users\mknue\Desktop\agnCreator\temp\smallparts.shp|*|*|NOREPROJ ImportOGR|C:\Users\mknue\Desktop\agnCreator\temp\single_trees.shp|*|*|NOREPROJ ImportOGR|C:\Users\mknue\Desktop\agnCreator\temp\current_bldtypes.shp|*|*|NOREPROJ SplitGrid|AGN|*|code=1500 SetAGNBuildingHeight|*|0.3;0.1;0.4;0.2 CreateAGNPolyVeg|guid_val=0 AND agntype="poly" AND density=0.000110|{b617c0de-ae92-4b3f-a3dc-3857ba5b3a47};{d08841ef-7f72-47be-b137-4ebef4f2fba4};{cabc946c-4548-4994-9f51-7f378a926e75} CreateAGNPolyVeg|guid_val=1 AND agntype="poly" AND density=0.000110|{0133dd59-6667-4a3a-91a8-efc475327759};{6596eeca-371e-4d4d-b52e-dfd51acc9dc5} CreateAGNRectVeg|guid_val=2 AND agntype="rect" AND density=0.000600 AND veg_proc="pnt"|{9dd7c0f0-77a8-4090-b624-81d9cc79f34c};{0ad2e69a-eda0-477e-b8b0-b624af1299ba} CreateAGNPolyVeg|guid_val=3 AND agntype="poly" AND density=0.000110|{2040940e-98cd-4127-bc16-25dbc4192ff8};{ac43f176-50a1-4348-abca-85913c2b5ae8} CreateAGNRectVeg|guid_val=4 AND agntype="rect" AND density=0.000700 AND veg_proc="pnt"|{8877734e-977d-4902-9334-49e3a2b5df96} CreateAGNPolyVeg|guid_val=5 AND agntype="poly" AND density=0.000120|{37ea2fc3-ec93-41ec-b979-ab93b913bbf4};{8472d800-36cf-478a-a1ef-5f794a2296dc};{94ab528e-3bd5-4adf-bafc-af77a2138d1e};{6abd81e8-d770-47bf-9a04-2e25fb393d0b};{d996b2dc-dcd8-44f9-ae3c-aafe036fd606} CreateAGNRectVeg|guid_val=6 AND agntype="rect" AND density=0.000800 AND veg_proc="pnt"|{c2daa950-42d3-4068-a914-e75ffb9974f1};{f9088b2a-5209-4737-8705-91d407e8291b};{09566bb2-e6c2-48be-84cb-9f926187da5c};{7ffdef21-fd5d-44dc-89e4-bee8bbd0a16d};{970d2095-a188-4773-bdc8-838918e1ba67};{2a2cbb57-5ec4-4f15-b2df-7bd0e2f8c538} CreateAGNPolyVeg|guid_val=7 AND agntype="poly" AND density=0.000100|{08988a26-8456-4924-8673-689f62fefaff};{b366dad3-a8e7-44ae-9bf3-bb1584e01270};{74b42d88-fc8b-4556-af5e-0db49b377efd} CreateAGNRectVeg|guid_val=0 AND FROMFILE="smallparts.shp"|{0133dd59-6667-4a3a-91a8-efc475327759};{6596eeca-371e-4d4d-b52e-dfd51acc9dc5} CreateAGNRectVeg|guid_val=1 AND FROMFILE="smallparts.shp"|{37ea2fc3-ec93-41ec-b979-ab93b913bbf4};{8472d800-36cf-478a-a1ef-5f794a2296dc};{94ab528e-3bd5-4adf-bafc-af77a2138d1e};{6abd81e8-d770-47bf-9a04-2e25fb393d0b};{d996b2dc-dcd8-44f9-ae3c-aafe036fd606} CreateAGNRectVeg|guid_val=2 AND FROMFILE="smallparts.shp"|{9dd7c0f0-77a8-4090-b624-81d9cc79f34c};{0ad2e69a-eda0-477e-b8b0-b624af1299ba} CreateAGNRectVeg|guid_val=3 AND FROMFILE="smallparts.shp"|{b617c0de-ae92-4b3f-a3dc-3857ba5b3a47};{d08841ef-7f72-47be-b137-4ebef4f2fba4};{cabc946c-4548-4994-9f51-7f378a926e75} CreateAGNRectVeg|FROMFILE="single_trees.shp"|{9dd7c0f0-77a8-4090-b624-81d9cc79f34c};{0ad2e69a-eda0-477e-b8b0-b624af1299ba} ExportAGN|P3D v4|OUTPUT\processed12
  14. Hi Pavlin, of course, it includes all of Mexico, Cancun, Mexico City, everything. At the moment I don't have anything far eastern in the pipeline, maybe I'll continue in Africa, West Asia, or Europe.... Now, how do I place the autogen... Bit difficult. I work in Python here, which works with ESRI ArcGIS Pro via the ArcPy interface and also with Hexagon ERDAS Imagine via the Python interface. The results are handed over to ScenProc, which just creates the agn-files. However, all the work is already done in Python, ScenProc only converts, so to speak. Unfortunately, I cannot give out my scripts for this as they contain proprietary code, in particular the random forest classification of the Sentinel-2 and Landsat-8 OLI data.
  15. Dear All, First of all, I'm back and hope I've already dealt with all the PNs. If I have overlooked anyone - please just get in touch with me! And the good news: 3 more sceneries are ready! Let's start in the West: Mexico!
  16. Dear All, before I'm not available again until mid-August, I wanted to show you 2 preview pictures of the next two countries I'm working on: And with that, I wish you all a good time, until mid-August! ** Out of Office until Mid of August ** Important: Requests and Messages will not be answered until mid-August. As soon as I am back, I will work through all messages!
  17. Of course, my sceneries are fully compatible with ORBX products. Regarding download: Please just write me a PM! 😉
  18. Dear Friends, it didn't take a long time since my last announcement but I have a lot of sceneries with me today! Well, the covered area is not so big. But the landscape is fantastic and for nearly all kinds of flying you can find suitable airfields. And yes, I have to admit, today I'm really happy to present you the new sceneries with a lot of pictures! Let's start with - for me - one of the most important countries north of South America - Costa Rica! Pura Vida! Liberia San Jose
  19. Dear all! First of all, I'd like to quickly add a few pictures that I didn't send you last time. First of all Chile: PS: Almost forgot: Of course my photosceneries also work without problems in P3Dv6!
  20. Thanks a lot! Well, for now I want to wait and see how it looks in P3Dv6. To be honest, I can't and don't want to sell my sceneries. On the one hand, I think everyone should be able to use the sceneries, regardless of income. On the other hand, anyone who wants to and can afford it can send me a donation via the Paypal link. Well, now we wait for the next few days... Then we'll see! 😉
  21. Dear all! Some time has passed again, during which I have not been idle and in the meantime have (partly) recreated many countries. To be exact, it has become several million square kilometres. Unfortunately, after a graphics card driver update my P3D doesn't like to start anymore, so I don't have screenshots of all the new countries - but I have a few pictures anyway. Let's start with South America. South America is (almost) completely finished - here Bolivia:
