This is how you write it. At the top of the FSX.cfg [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14 You have to look up what kind of CPU you have. I have a 4-core CPU with 8 threads. 8 has nothing to do with the memory. Once you know what kind of CPU you have, you'll know what number to set as AffinityMask.

Hi! I'm running Fsx with AffinityMask 14 and Hyperthread on. I will try to run it with Hyperthread off. What's the difference between HT off or on when running Fsx? Will I see any difference in performance?

For Multiple Core support in FSX, add the following command line in fsx.CFG file. The setting is not shown by default. [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=n Choice of <n> as follows: For 2-core 4-thread CPU 15=1111 = ALL 4 cores 14=1110 = last 3 cores (cores read from back to front) 7=0111 = first 3 cores 3=0011 = first 2 cores 1=0001 = first core For 4-core 8-thread CPU 255=11111111 = ALL 8 cores 254=11111110 = last 7 cores 252=11111100 = last 6 cores 127=01111111 = first 7 cores 63=00111111 = first 6 cores For 6-core 12-thread CPU 4095=111111111111 = ALL 12 cores 4094=111111111110 = last 11 cores 4092=111111111100 = last 10 cores Other core settings could be calculated from corresponding binary numbers to decimal numbers as shown above. There is no need to use additional software such as Multicore Environment to achieve what is needed.

Set your AffinityMask to 14 in the FSX.cfg file. That'll help. It did for me.

I have Intel Core i7 [email protected] 4 cores and 8 threads Should I use AffinityMask 14 for this?

I have my AffinityMask set to 14. What is the difference in changing it to other values? I've seen many people have other values than me. The reason I ask is due to the 8 minute freeze. I had freezes for a long time. But when I added affinitymask 14, it solved the whole thing. No freezes for almost 6 months. Last night I hade some freezes again. May it help to change the AffinityMask to some other value?

Hi. Sometimes the first freeze comes already during climb.

Hi. The screen freezes for 8 minutes. You can still hear the sound but you can't do anything. After 8 minutes it unfreezes an you can go on flying. Can get up to 5 freezes on a 10 hour flight. Alex

Hi. Yes. But it is not FSUIPC related. I never had freezes with AS 2012. Only with ASN. Alex

Hi! I have FS Passengers and use ATC chatter in the background from that add-on. Could that be the issue of the 8-minute freeze. Did not have freezes with ATC chatter in AS 2012, only with ASN. Alex

Hi! I have the same problem. For me FSX continues to work after 8 minutes. Sometimes I have 1-2 freezes on a 12 hour flight. Sometimes up to 10 freezes. For me, setting framerate to unlimited, didn't help. I know it did for some guys. I have now opened at ticket on HiFi, hoping they can help me with the problem. Let me know how it goes on for you. Hi! I have now performed Another testflight, with freezes of course. Did do as you said HiFly. I threw an error report. So I hope it can be of any help to them. Alex

Hi folks! Did another testflight. This time I did set VAS to 12 GB and frames to unlimited. But after Teo hours of flight I began to get 8 minutes freeze. So this tips does not work for me...:-( I will use AS2012 until HiFi has come out with a solution. Best regards/Alex

Hi! Same for me. I did set framerates to unlimited but think I got several freezes during a 10 hour flight. When I took off the clock on the aircraft panel showed 19.00 UTC and my phonewatch the same. Did check the flight every 2-3 hour. Ni freezes. But I noticed that the panel clock didn't show the same time as my phone. After 10 hours the aircraft clock showed -53 minutes. I believe the sim frooze several times and that's why my phone and the planeclock didn't show the same. At every check I listned to the ASN ATIS on 122.02. It did report the weather att the true UTC time, so ASN did update the weather all the time. I will do another check later today and let you guys know how it went. Alex Hi again. Hi! VM and VAS? I'm not so good at computers. If increasing as you mentioned, can that help the freeze? And how do I increase it manually? As I wrote before I'll try to set framerate to unlimited and see what hapends. If it still freezes I will try to see for how long. The clock on the panel is in UTC, so it'll be easy to see for how long it has froozen. Best regards/Alex

I haven't enabled anything in FSUIPC as many says it's that that causes the freeze. When running AS 2012 I never have problems. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! So if I get FSUIPC and don't enable wind smoothing, FSX will not freeze? Where can I download FSUIPC, and is it enough with a free version? Best regards!

Hi! I have the same problem. FSX freezes after 2/3 of the flight. I'm running ASN as an administrator and have done all of the tips above. Now I'm thinking of going back to AS 2012, because it's too anoying to have the simulator freeze after several hours of flight. I don't have FSUIPC. May that be an issue? Tankfull for help.
