  1. Having set up a camera with aircraft bump it does look good but the aircraft systems do not seem to react, speed is rock solid, ailerons don't move as the AP corrects roll and the VSI doesn't move up or down in response to gusts. Would rather have the aircraft react rather than how it's done now if possible, I suspect that would also mean wings would flex as noticed in other threads that they don't now.

  2. It would be great to couple the turbulence feature to just weather rather than via a view as an option.

Ideally having Opus turbulence injected into the aircraft as an additional signal to say accufeel and DHM then reacting to the aircraft signal to move its view around?

Maybe it could only be done by setting FSX turbulence but having that as an option would be good as creating default camera positions for all my aircraft seem daunting, not to mention never taking advantage of accufeel physics such as water.

  3. You can have hardcore sims with easy to fly planes, try the A2A Piper Cub, great aircraft! The P40 is easy too as well as the Spitfire.

On topic, don't wish Microsoft back, look at how much market value it's lost over the last decade.

  4. After following this thread I decided to purchase Opus FSX as with the flight 1 system I can try before I buy, thank you for this.

First off I must say that REX has given me upgrades since I bought their product in 2010 which I think is awesome!

Ok, with EGWU selected in REX and getting it to download textures for that weather I flew around a bit and you can see the result below:

Keeping it paused I shut down REX and then loaded up Opus and waited for it to do its stuff, a one second unpause after and pause again.

Which out of the two matched what I saw out the window better.

However, and this is a big BUT. REX sets turbulence within the sim and Opus does not so that you have a plane that flies on rails in Opus, for me this is an immersion breaker. I know it has the head bobbing effect but to me the philosophy is flawed as the aircraft moves in turbulence, not just the pilots. Having the aircraft be effected moves dials around and is much more 'being there'.

For me overall REX can do some great weather but a lot of the time there just doesn't seem to be enough of it, lots of gaps, increase the density and I think it would be better. These are from REX Essentials HD before I upgraded to Plus Overdrive.

  5. Since some of you posters are obviously experienced rotor heads, which do you think would be the best to learn the art of helicopters with: The DCS Black Shark that I already have, or the DodoSim 206 for FSX? I'm considering purchasing it as a result of this thread.

Either is fine, if you have the Blackshark then go with that, also being a coaxial contra rotating rotor setup means you can do things normal helicopters can't! I also find DCS looks better down way low where you'll live and as its been pointed out its all about the visual cues with a helicopter.

  6. A plane wants to fly, a helicopter wants to crash, however it can be the most rewarding thing to fly in the sky.

I found that by practicing the hover and taxi all over the airfield until I could move it anywhere and keep it there when I wanted was the trick for me.

Unfortunately since flying DCS Blackshark and the Dodosim 206 these are the only things that feel like the one time I flew an R44 irl.

  7. For me would be the flight one Mustang as it's a bit like a high maintenance gf that you know you should walk away from but just can't.

Bought it when I had XP, then because of OOM errors was restricted where I could fly it, no photorealistic for example. This prompted me to do a completed fresh install of Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and it's the only add on I have that won't run.

Really like this aircraft when I can fly it where I want and will do again when a patch for Windows 8 compatability comes out. It's regretful because it's caused a lot of frustration but you keep sticking with it as you know it's good when everything's just right. ;)

  8. A2A - Awesome aircraft, I just love flying them as well as accufeel!

Carenado - Sorts the GA fix.

Real Air - great aircraft too

PMDG, Eaglesoft, MilvizSim, IRIS and Quality Wings also get a shout, just need the time to learn the aircraft and systems, Warbirds and GA aircraft are simple! :)

Orbix - Awesome scenary to fly around in

    REX - Awesome environment

Reality XP - For the transformation they bring to GA IFR.

Pete Dowson, so much stuff needs FSUIPC to work.

  9. Hi,

Have just installed the 7th edition Briefing Time FSX edition on my machine and the attached shows what the textures look like, .

My system is running FSX + Acceleration pack plus a few addon aircraft, Rex essentials plus and ORBX scenery.

The OS is Windows 8 Pro with 6GB RAM and an NVidia GTX 570 GPU.

The second attachment shows that textures are present and also the path, .

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
