  1. Hi Pete, First thank you for producing a new version so quick after you holidays, I'm sure everyone appreciates it more than you think. With every new shiny toy people are keen to get it working as soon as possible, I'm sure you can appreciate that. As with many people I don't have an in depth understanding of how rc4 or FSUIPC communicate with the flight sim but I felt it was worth a go. I didn't even know if my installation of rc4 had completed successfully with v2, hence my post on here. I was only trying to communicate with the rc4 community to make sure I hadn't stuffed up my installation somehow. Sorry if I infuriated you in some way, I was only trying to eliminate my rc4 installation from the equation.
  2. Edit: Pete is back and working on a new version of fsuipc, hopefully that'll solve it... Downloaded and installed the latest fsuipc, same result. This is the output doing exactly the same thing in FSX with no crash. FSUIPC Display Title set = "Radar Contact" WRITE0 3380, 42 bytes: 52 43 56 34 20 69 73 20 52 65 61 64 79 0D 0A 44 RCV4 is Ready..D 45 50 20 54 4C 3D 46 4C 31 32 30 0D 0A 41 52 52 EP TL=FL120..ARR 20 54 4C 3D 46 4C 31 32 30 00 TL=FL120. 3. I got FSUPIC working, window pops up and everything. I started a new log within FSUPIC and this is the last thing to get written to it before crashing (If that's any help): FSUIPC Display Title set = "Radar Contact" WRITE0 3380, 42 bytes: 52 43 56 34 20 69 73 20 52 65 61 64 79 0D 0A 45 50 20 54 4C 3D 46 4C 31 32 30 0D 0A 41 52 20 54 4C 3D 46 4C 31 32 30 00 WRITE0 32FA, 2 bytes: 00 00 In the mean time I'll wait for a new version of FSUPIC.
  4. Once I’ve loaded the flight plan in RC4 and press start, I go back to P3D and it sits for a second and then the default windows error message pops up, “This program has encountered a problem and will need to close”. No other messages other than that, rc4 just freezes and needs to be force closed. Could it be something to do with makerwys? It used to appear to move the aircraft, that is the scenery changed and started to redraw before it crashed. I downloaded the latest makerwys.exe put it in the P3D folder, re ran makerwys.bat and now the scenery doesn’t change but it still crashes. Thank you for your time.
  5. P3D v3 crashes for me every time I press start on rc4.
  6. OK thank you, i've not looked for an update but will do. I'll investigate on my next flight, once again thank you for your time
  7. I wouldn't say I've used it with any 'complex' aircraft. The most complex being the ERJ series from wilco (I think I can't check I'm mid flight with fspassenger) and the JS41 from PMDG. This is with FSX. It's happened at every altitude setting in this flight so far (4 maybe 5), it's not a major thing, the bug dialing with the mouse is a major pain so 100 foot isn't anything mayor to deal with and I can live with it. Although another thing is it doesn't dial the correct heading either the FO says, "OK" and doesn't do anything or just this very second I asked him to dial a new heading and he said it was set already and it's not. Thank you for your time. nija edit: an update system would be good rather than downloading the whole thing again.
  8. Still 100 feet off :( not that it's massive but when I ask the F/O to set a height I kind of expect it to be set.
  9. OK so my 'uninstall updates' solution only worked for that evening. However a German fellow made this program http://va-gae.eu/flightoperations/download/fsx-joystick-tool.html It send all inputs to FSX via simconnect. It's not an ideal solution as you have to re set up all your controls but it works. Any solution with FSUIPC won't work as anything to do with the FSX process looses all connectivity to the joystick.
  10. Setting altitude on the Quality Wings 146 aircraft results in setting the wrong altitude. For example, “set altitude Flight level 060” will set the altitude at 5600. The command works with all my other aircraft and I’m sure MCE is understanding me correctly (the red text confirms this) but for some reason the FO just isn’t twisting the knob enough Any ideas? Cheers
  11. Well this is what I did to get it to work. Everything was lovely, then I installed 19 updates.. and it all went to pot. Uninstalled the updates and it all works again. Not sure which update it was but don't want to faff around too much. The updates I installed/uninstalled attached as a picture. Edit: Bit of a ninja edit, everything was 100% before I ran these updates and when I installed them I didn't give two thoughts. However after a few tries the joystick kept disconnecting with the same symptoms everyone describes. After mucking around for a while I remembered the updates, uninstalled them and it all works again.
  12. Thank you all for the help, I'll be sure to try all the tips next time I fly.
  13. So far I've done around 60 flights with RC4 and at first I was rather pleased but the same things keep cropping up and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. First one is when you're approaching an airfield you'll get RC4 telling you to start decent. First It'll say descend at your own discretion and then ask to to descend to another altitude within say 30nm. Immediately after asking that it'll say I missed my crossing. I've barely gone 5nm never mind 30. If what RC4 is repeating is particularly long and you don't acknowledge right away, it'll repeat and then repeat again but right away and you get stuck in a loop where you can't press anything to answer because RC4 will just continue repeating. Not sure if this is RC4 or FSX but on occasion I've had to take evasive action because RC4 wants to fly me into the side of a mountain on approach. Any tips greatly appreciated!
