Upper Level Winds Query
Hi Guys, I have similar to above but the issue is when doing a couple of short haul flights in one day. The upper winds can shift quite a bit in just a couple of hours, especially if the centre of an area of pressure is moving across the country. So if i do a flight in the morning and then switch off the PC and come back some hours later to do another the grib file is the same one as one i switched off but this can be really out of date by then. Is the only solution to delete the Grib.dat file as above or am I doing something wrong? I can get it to update doing the above but seems a bit of a faff. I have tried doing an update weather on the ground but the upper winds seem to stay the same unless I do as you mention deleting the Grib.dat file. Thanks, steve

Altitude and heading selector issue in MJC-8 with linda
Thanks for that info Scot. I may have a tinker as you described. Its a pity this aircraft is such a pain regarding interfacing with other add-ons. Otherwise a superb add-on to have. Many thanks again, Steve

No gauges on 737 NGX after Formatting PC
I had a similar problem after doing a defrag i think. All gauges were blank except the circles for N1 and N2. I submitted a ticket and PMDG sent me the files for the fonts that had somehow been deleted and this cured the problem. I did have to suggest to PMDG the idea though. Hope that may help. Steve

Altitude and heading selector issue in MJC-8 with linda
Hi Scot, Thanks for the reply. I had originally set the MCP as you described above but to try and cure my issue I got rid of the _incfast with another input of just_inc. Even this did not get rid of the erratic nature. Even turning one click at a time (very slowly) the alt was going up in 1000's. But then it can cure its self for a few seconds before going nuts again. Its strange it only happens on descent. I thought maybe it was a feature or setting that could be selected? I have a feeling some ac you can push the knob to select between 1000's or 100's increments. As you say could be just the way the two interface and may have to live with it. Thanks again, Steve

Altitude and heading selector issue in MJC-8 with linda
Hi Chaps, Firstly its possible I should of posted this in the Majestic forum but thought I'd try here first. I have a issue with the altitude and heading selectors in the Majestic dash8. This only seems to happen on descent or approach but, when i use the rotary knobs on the MCP2 the altitude starts to jump in 1000's of feet randomly. So it might get stuck on 4300 and when i turn the knob it only gives me 5300, 6300, 7300 etc... Similar with the heading, it just jumps in 10's or 12's of degrees or so. If i use the mouse over the knobs in the VC then all is normal and i can fine tune. Its just a bit of a pain when flying online and the workload is getting high to have to mess about with the mouse to select given heading and altitudes. Again this only seem s to happen on descent/approach. Thanks in advance. Steve

PMDG J41 vs Majestic DH4 - which is easier to learn?
Having been a PMDG only person for a number of years including the JS41, NGX and 777...i have to say the Q400 has blown the little Jetstream away. Steve

'Click able' 2D panels in Q400
Thanks Ian, I have now downloaded and all works as you described and just as needed. What an amazing addon...I thought no one would ever touch PMDG but looks like the bar has been raised! Thanks, Steve

'Click able' 2D panels in Q400
Hi Guys, Just before I make my purchase of the Q400 i just wanted to be sure which version I need? I have read the descriptions of what the various versions offer but I want to make sure I'm understanding it. What I need is a click able 2D FMS etc as per the NGX. This is because I use 2 screens and want to be able to continue with this set up. I'm just not sure whether they say no 2D panel in the base version refers only to the main cockpit in 2D? Thanks in advance, Steve

Thank You
Well I second what Dave says, I used to spend half my time battling with REX the weather engine. Finally I took the plunge and got Opus. I can now spend all my time enjoying the flight sim again. The DHM is a superb bonus, Cheers, Steve

Panels in second monitor
Hi All, This is not a major problem, just a bit irritating every now and again. I run with a second monitor for opening various cockpit panels and just leave it untouched for the whole flight once its all set up. However, if I need to alt enter out of full screen for any reason, when I alt enter back to full screen all the panels have moved to screen 1 and I have to one by one drag them back to screen 2. I have in the past not had to do this but cant find what might of changed, I've tried adjusting monitor settings but with no joy. Any help would be appreciated. Running the following: REX 3.3.2013.0715. Windows7 64bit, 8.00 RAM, GeForce GTX 570, No overclocking, 931GB, no network, FSX (sp2), connected to internet, no AV, no firewall, FSUIPC full version, UAC off, REX "C: drive, FSX (programs x86), run as admin, .config (various). Thanks in advance, Steve

I am new - please help!
I agree totally with that, VA is defo the way to go. also RCv4 is dated but still pretty good and you can use SIDS/STARS with it. I tried the free trial of VoxATC and did not like it one bit, the voice activation is a disaster and very unrealistic clearances.

Ryanair Virtual?
Yep, thumbs up for virtual Norwegian here too. Its the best one I've found since V Ryanair shut down.

Virtual Ryanair
I know, and i wasn't when i said I'd pay for it.

Virtual Ryanair
It was IMO by far the best VA out there. I laughed the first time I heard of people flying for a VA. 'What looser's' I thought. Then I actually took the time to look at a few. There scoring system for each flight with Virtual Ryanair was unique as far as I'm aware? No evidence of being poorly run from where what I could see. But then I have no insider knowledge Maybe they should charge, it was the only VA I would pay for. Steve
