  1. I guess i don't understand the obsession with grading.   I know some notable european airports have decent grading but most NA airports are pretty flat.  On purpose.   Of all the things I would want to see in P3D v5, this would be the very bottom.   So many other things for them to work on.  As any pilot you should be looking at the gauges during departure not the slope of the runway.

  2. For those who were waiting for Air Canada (seemed like quite a few people on the forums here were) it is out for AIG OCI.  And Westjet.  You can go back to being even happier Canadians...lol.

They will have a lot of the airlines, but I wouldn't expect them to have as many as UTL (talking flightplans, of course). I don't think they have ever done Tropic Air or MAYAir, for example.

Still, as I mentioned, it is not a one or the other issue. You can use both. If you want a cheap, quick solution, of course, AIG is absolute perfection. Not only will it satisfy most people, it probably has made all payware products obsolete. If you already own UTL, however, there are ways they can compliment each other.

BTW, AIG just uploaded a bunch of stuff overnight. Time to fire it up and see what's new:)

Well you have to go into their forums they have flightplans i've never even seen before.   Also they have flight planners who build flightplans for bizjets covering every company you can think of.   And have a GA aviation section for those SEP and other props.  They do a ton of small carribean airlines, small cargo carriers like those in Alaska, etc.

  4. For those that say AIG does not have all the airlines.....they will.  They produce flightplans on a seasonal basis.  So they will do a huge batch for Winter 18-19 then do another huge batch for Summer 19.   They made Summer 18 available so you can get more airlines loaded.   So eventually you will  have all the airlines and many little ones you probably don't get with UTL or TG.  Here is winter 18-19: https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=28612.0

    Summer 18: https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=27478.0

They've also done scripts for cabin lighting, night lighting.

  5. Shaun is a one man team.  Only know this because he is a member of our VA.   And i think he has a day job but he will get back to you if you have an issue.

I have KORF, KBNA.   Both fill the niche nicely for small regionals like that.   i don't need Flightbeam quality for those airports.

  6. Lets remember these guys push out payware quality airports for FREE!

They can take as much time as they need and don't have to provide us a timeline, support, or any explanation since we pay $0.

Shez does great work and will complete it someday and that day you'll be happy as kid who got a cupcake for free at a birthday party.

    Hi Jason,

This is tricky as it all depends of what AI traffic method you are using, traffic injected via SimConnect (UTL for example) have a better chance to control this as the injecting add-on itself can check what your current FPS are and avoid the injection on the first place and on this regard UTL has a setting that allows end user to set their desired FPS.

If you are using .BGL files, you are going to be out of luck as P3D measures the level of traffic set at a global level, so the .BGL files need to be created more optimized for these regions with the proper set of percentage per aircraft, unfortunately I haven't see yet any software asking end users what level of traffic they wish to have "per region" and on top of, compiled AI traffic BGL files are always configured to show end users lots of aircraft on the simulator as vendors want to demonstrate how good their products are.

Traffic Optimizer and FSUIPC can only remove the traffic (ZAP approach) after it is available on the reality bubble, this is as far as they can go due to technical limitations, so the secret is to attack the problem at the source, if your AI traffic BGL files are configured with the right amount of settings per region you should see less problems.

With the current SDK functions and available technology is very little what we could do, however we could set an experiment with P3D 4.4 to alter the global traffic levels settings at run time (using SimConnect) and see how the sim reacts, so if you approach the UK airspace at 90KM it will reduce your AI traffic settings under P3D to 20% for example and after leaving the region it would increase it again.

I am currently super busy testing with the beta team AILRP (AI Lights Reborn Professional code name) as I just implemented a new feature that I believe everyone is going to love, send me a PM with your email and we can discuss later this year if the approach above could work.

    Kind Regards,
    Simbol

This is a great answer.  Thanks.  Didn't know UTL did traffic injection differently.  I don't have UTL and prefer my custom AIG bgls.   I know the AIG bgls you can adjust the percentage of the traffic bgl but not sure if we can do it by region.   I'll have to look.

Maybe the UTL method will be the way to go in the future.

AILRP is a great program but when you finally get a chance to do the AI Traffic program people will be throwing money at you.  Like me!

is there someone who have Super Traffic Board on P3D 4.3?

Does it really works? (With UTLive)
Does it separate AI for real?
    Does it avoid GoArounds?

    Thanks!!

I use SuperTrafficBoard with 4.4 and previously with 4.3.   Unfortunately I don't have UTL but I don't see why not.

It does not separate aircraft.  There is no program currently in P3D that does separation of AI.   And this also answers your 3rd question.

SuperTrafficBoard does have a feature to limit the AI percentage and also ZAP (delete certain AI aircraft) if they are in your way or causing a GoAround.  You can also eliminate aircraft sitting at gates at nearby airports to also help with FPS.

    S.

Hey Simbol.  I know you are still working hard on the AI program but just curious if it deals with how AI is injected into sim.  I think your program will focus on controlling the AI such as separation, speed, taxiing and possible an ability to limit AI in say the reality "bubble" like FSUIPC.   But I think the issue I have most is how when you are flying near say New York City or London etc the AI injects tons of aircraft before the limiter can eliminate them thus causing a stutter or FPS to drop only for a few seconds.   Unfortunately this short FPS drop causes havoc with payware aircraft like Aerosoft's Airbus Pro's FBW system.  This occurs both with FSUIPC limiter and the old Traffic Optimizer.

Is there a way to make this seamless?

Keep up the good work man!

    Hi all-

I've installed KSFOHD and as you can see, all is not right. I'm running ORBX Norcal under very restricted conditions. I use it to get KMRY and KSTS to sit properly.

Interestingly, when I refresh scenery, the black squares go away. Anyone else have/seen this?

    Thanks,

    Mark

If you mean like the black textures on the apron grass areas.  Its Orbx airport conflict.  Using the Flightbeam tool, turn off the KSFO airport scenery.   Cleared it up for me.

So the IWM version works fine in P3D v4?

Yeah their scenery was fine in v3.   I don't know if i checked it in v4.  I know ACG's Wattisham 1993 works in v4.

The Duxford Airshow scenery is pretty cool complete with WWII AI.  The AI do work in v4.

I recently did a fresh install of Prepar3d v4.4 and installed my Orbx sceneries (Global, LC North America, Southern and Northern California, Monterey Airport, amongst others.  When performing a cross country flight from Monterey CA to Santa Barbara, CA I encountered frequent long pauses as I got close to Santa Barbara.  The pauses were so bad that it ruined the entire experience. I never experienced this in v 4.3.

I than performed the recommended Prepar3d troubleshooting steps.  Without the Orbx sceneries Southern California and LC North America, the simulator performed flawless over Southern California.  No pauses, high frame rates and very fluid.  I added LC North America, flew the same route, and pauses appeared.  I than added Southern California, flew same route, and the pauses became very frequent and long, making for a terrible experience.  Based on this, The Orbx sceneries Southern California and LC North America should NOT be used while simulating over southern California in V 4.4.

    My system:

    i7 6800K OC'd 4.3GHz

    32 GB RAM

    SSD HD

    GeForce GTX 1080Ti

Known issue with Orbx CA regions.  Try turning off AI.   Also go into Orbx Config for SoCal and NorCal and uncheck things you can live without like windmills, marine masts, towers, etc.   All that drags performance down.

you have a pretty robust PC so i'm surprised but performance is a moving target.

Only any which replace any effects or scenery files. Uninstalls leave all changed files in the main sim folder. I find I only need to enter and okay out of the FTX Central program so it can see to its autogen changes. Hopefully Orbx will be sorting that out now they can have separate Autogen files.

    Pete

Uh oh usually LM only puts out updates when Pete is on vacation.   He's here.  Something must be amiss.  lol.

  14. When we say full reinstall, are we talking about uninstalling addons and completely wiping drive (format SSD)?  Or we talking just uninstalling 4.3 Client, Content and Scenery then installing 4.4 Client, Content and Scenery.

I just did a full wipe of the drive a month or so ago and it was a nightmare getting back to stable flights with every addon working.  And yes all my scenery addons are installed outside the sim including all my AI etc.

Or, go into the aircraft.cfg and change the "Title" line, if you want to keep the aircraft in question.

    Russ

Right you could.  But i don't think the traffic file would find it since you changed its name.  But maybe it does since i don't know how UTL works.  I would have to go into AIFP and make sure the traffic file is fixed to match the aircraft with its flightplan.

I'm getting the annoying "multiple objects with the same file name" popup on P3D splash start.  Googling and the LM forums suggested this was a duplicate entry in the simobject.cfg file, but, I have no duplicate entries in said file.

What did I do to deserve this annoyance, you ask?  I'm really not sure, and am hoping one of you might know.  I did recently add UPS repaints and models to my UTLive.  Since I didn't have all the models I needed, I also installed the FLAI models, but disabled the FLAI add-on as soon as I figured out FLAI only works with VATSIM.

Yeah its not dreaded. I custom built my AI and military AI, happens all the time.  Just jot down the name of the offending file.  Find the folder and aircraft.cfg and delete.

Most likely the FLAI had UPS models and repaints already.   So its just a duplicate.

I’d just note that the freeware AI Controller utility will also put AI aircraft on flightplans using airways. Also not perfect, but actually not bad either.

    James

And there is a caveat to that.  If you use AI Controller 1.4B the AI taxi perfectly but you only get the SIDS and STARS for the airports the app give you..   AI Controller 2.0 you get SIDS and STARS for every airport (granted you have PMDG folder with all the airports) but it has some very weird glitches with taxiing.

I went back to 1.4B since I considered the taxiing to be more important.  For now.

You're welcome. That's the same way that I felt after installing 130 AIG flightplans.

Same here.  Figures after we built our AI traffic from scratch that this would happen.  Oh well at least this might get more people to help with the custom AI aircraft.
