  1. Hi guys, I've been struggling with this strange issue for some time now and couldn't really find any solution online. Here's what happens to me: on numerous occasions when I start a flight my hat switch wouldn't respond, it appears to be completely blocked. Then if I switch to outside view everything starts to go crazy - camera performs a weird backspin and rotates endlessly, engines of any airplane (doesn't matter default or addon) spool all the way up and that's it for me - all I can do is to shut down fsx. The only way I can somehow manage to have it under control is to restart the system and run ezca configuration tool. This happens every time I select a new aircraft, but also every now and then with no particular reason. Apart from it, the whole problem appears to have nothing to do with my system specs, as currently I'm using windows 10 and FSX:SE, with clean vanilla installation of many addons, including EZCA 1.18, but I was familiar with the issue when I used Acceleration and Win7 before... Has anybody of you encountered this weird bug? I'd appreciate any help. Best regards.
  2. Guys, I read a lot about this throttling issues and came to conclusion that it has to be just my mobo simply not handling the power of CPU. That's why I've just bought a new ASUS motherboard and I'm currently in the middle of configuring my new FSX and reinstalling all the addons I got. Hope this is gonna be the end of my epic struggle:-). Maciek
  3. Yeah, it happens also after deleting fsx.cfg. besides, I tend not to set the sliders on maximum... Anyways, today I returned my computer to the shop but guys there didn't look quite eager to do sth about it. They downplayed the whole issue so I'm a bit worried if they do anything at all. For now I have to wait. Bad luck...
  4. Surprisingly, just today my problem appeared again. It is still caused by high temperature readouts of my AMD Fx 4100, but the reason of this readout is somewhat annoying. I've done some online research and it appears that some MSI motherboards paired with some AMD CPUs can't provide enough power for processors, while having them running close to 100% of their capability. This forces these (low-end, I suppose) motherboards to artficially trigger the highest possible temp readout, which I believe is 255 degrees. This allows the MB to enable throttling and significantly underclock the CPU... So now who should I blame? The retailer from whom I bought my PC from or hardware manufacturer...? Has any of you encountered similar issues? PS. Sorry if I wandered too far and turned this topic into hardware one, but I hope it's connected directly with the main topic of this thread.
  5. Thanks again for all the support I got from everybody! I guess I should have come and seek help here much earlier than I did, I would definitely spare myself a lot of trouble:-). Cheers, Maciek
  6. That's exactly what I'm going to do, thanks! MZ
  7. Thanks for useful advices! Like I probably mentioned in previous posts I was fully aware that my fsx.cfg hadn't been tweaked properly due to my ignorance of technical field:). Nevertheless I tried my best and followed the clues I found online. Anyways, I suppose it would probably the best if I let FSX rebuild .cfg file again from scratch, especially that I'm not sure if I did this after installing my new GPU. Kind regards, Maciek
  8. Thanks for all the help from you guys! I think nermingk was right! I checked the temperature of my CPU using CoreTemp tool only to realise that whenever FSX started to stutter the CPU temperature was raising to 255 C degrees! Then, after some time, it decreased, allowing FSX to get back to its normal state and then all over again. The stutters had nothing to do with AI traffic, neither with any background ongoing process. Still my question then: why such a regular interval? Does it have something to do with some cooling malfunction? I'm going to get rid of as much dust as I can anyway, hope it helps. Edit: I've cleaned my computer's interior, CPU's radiator and cooling fan. So far no temperature peaks and hence no stutters! Could it be that simple?Do you guys recommend any highly efficient cooling system? Oh, and I'm attaching my .cfg file, in case it could help in optimizing my system's performance. // This file was tweaked on Apr 09, 2013 at 19:48 GMT using Bojote's automated FSX Tweaking & Tuning 9. FDX2168-Chris: I got autosave off in fsuipc.. Besides, I uninstalled it once and it didn't change a thing.. awf: I performed the test you'd recommended: I believe the textures load instantenously each time.
  10. tunnelcat: correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that AMD processors didn't support hyperthreading? but then again - I'm not a specialist and maybe it has something to do with AMD cpus either. If so, I would love to know how to switch it off? Bert Pieke: about background processes - just today I totally uninstalled my AV programme and it didn't help at all. I've been checking any other background processes via Task Manager for couple of days now, but can't find anything that would interrupt explicitly in the moment when FSX starts to stutter. I haven't used that Procmon tool though, think I'll give it a try today and see what I get. About the traffic - I use World of AI and have dozens of airlines installed, but I tend to keep the slider not higher than 30. I'll switch it off completely then, like you adviced, see if it helps. I'm just wondering if the uninstalling all the airline packages I have might do the trick? Could it be the case? Thanks for all the answers!
  11. I shut it down each time I turn on FSX... I mean I turn off all of its firewalls. Should I try and uninstall it completely and then rebuild fsx.cfg?
  12. Hello everyone! This is my first post here, but I've been reading this great forum for a long time now and so far it has helped me with many issues. So let me first express my appreciation to all the efforts you guys show in helping fellow simmers! Now with the topic. I know that fight with stutters is a never ending story for some and since I'm currently experiencing similar problem I believe I've read all the topics regarding this matter that are out there. Nothing seems to solve the interruptions I get though:(. Here's how it is: no matter what I do, whether I fly complicated addon plane in the vicinity of some payware scenery, or it is default cessna in some less demanding area - FSX stutters at regular intervals. It's like every minute fps drop from 24-30 to 5-10 and stay like this for several seconds. It is so annoying, especially when sometimes I have to pause the sim just before the touchdown in order to provide smooth air passage and not crash my plane. I have tried virtually EVERY tweak, every solution I found. Nothing seems to help. I thought this might be caused by some background process (since it is really regular), checked the monitor, but couldn't find anything interrupting. I switched weather engine off, deleted FSUIPC module, defragmented HDD, rebuilt fsx.cfg and followed many other advices, tweaks, etc. - still nothing. This leads me to conclusion - could it be my hardware then? Just yesterday I got myself some brand new GTX560Ti, cause initially I had thought my GPU was a bottleneck. This purchase generally boosted the performance, but couldn't prevent stutters either. Now I've heard a lot about the superior Intel CPUs and how their architecture is way better when it comes to FSX. Unfortunately I got AMD FX4100,3'6GHz,overclocked to 4'1GHz - do you think this might be the problem? Should I change the motherboard and CPU? Here are my specs: AMD FX 4100 Quad Core MSI 760GM-P21 FX GigaByte nVidia GTX 560Ti Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 Windows 7 64 My FSX installation is on separate partition, but it's not a physical drive. I am no IT specialist and maybe there is something I'm missing here. I would really appreciate any help! Thanks!
