  1. I wholly agree...exact sentiments. I also noticed that the seasonal changes and colors change in P3DV5 but in P3DV6 the seasonal colors do not change and there is a lot more brown textures. I will stay with P3DV5, it just looks better and performs superb.
  2. I tend to use Plan-G alot. Little Nav Map is good but it looks very cluttered..
  3. Hello Everyone, I have a meetup group I have formed to do multiplayer flights. You are invited to join for some interesting flights in Canada and around the world. Find me at: https://www.meetup.com/bccanfsmeetup/ Cheers...
  4. When you log into Windows 10 your login to you windows account, I go to the Microsoft Store and your MSFS 2020 is linked to your account. Any user account will use your license to activate. At least this is what I think it is, as I was able to install MSFS2020 twice with 2 different user account I created during testing. My main user account just did not want to work with the MSFS2020
  5. Hello All, Was stuck with this for past 10 days since the launch date. Solution: Created a NEW Windows 10 login account and the MSFS 2020 downloaded and it worked with no problems. To verify, I went back to my main login account and it never worked. Was always stuck on the 'Press any key to Start' I also created another Windows 10 account and it worked. Somehow, my main Windows 10 account seems to be not good enough with all the tweaking over the past few months with other installs and adjustments. I did all the recommended fixes I found on the web and they all did not work. The solution was really to have a clean account for it to install. Hope this helps..

  7. Hello, I have quite a few ORBX products, Global Base, All Regions, All openLC Files, a number of airports. with all my ORBX products installed it takes 4 mins to main P3dv4 window and 2 mins to load the SIM. I mainly fly in North America. So I would disable Europe and Oceania. When I do this, the load time is 2min 10 sec for my PC. Here is the difference for me. If you do have any new updates or files for scenery, I would disable the 'empty scenery cache on exit' option. This give me a load time of 1.5 mins (North America scenery only) and 3.5 mins (all my products installed). I have found that you can reduce the load time by 30 secs everytime. This helps load times and it is not necessary to 'empty scenery cache on exit', unless something has changed. Hope this helps..
  8. Must have: 1- Orbx 2 - Pilot2ATC or Plan-G and Multicrew Experience 3 - TrackIR 4 - Sim Pluggins Panel Builder (networked on 2nd computer) 5 - REX - Skyforce 3D 6 - REX - Texture Direct Enhanced 7 - Ultimate Terrain - USA, Canada, Europe, Tropical Americas 8 - GeForce GTX 1080 Video card
  9. Yes...latest and updated... I keep my Frame Rates set at 24fps. About the same as you would, if watching a film at the cinema sorta.
  10. FSX 2009....Gold Edition. Don't use Steam.
  11. Yes, YBBN is a major frame killer!!!!! Usually around 15fps. Lucky if I get 23fps depending on where I am in the sky. My VAS still has another 1.8 Gb headroom remaining. Scenery Settings Level of Detail Radius - Small (when I fly in a real plane, you don't see so much detail in the distance anyways) Mesh - 75% Mesh Resolutio - 75% Texture Resolution - 100% Water Effects - Low 2x Scenery Complexity - Max Autogen - None (Orbx has enough detail to make autogen not necessary, so do not use it really) Ground Shadows - None (I use the aircraft shadow instead, better) Special Effects Detail - High I7 - 4.6MHz Hasswell Motherboard 16GB Ram GeForce 750Tii Graphics Card What helps alot is when frames go low. 1. Pause Simulator. 2. Save Flight to file (I use a file name like 01 Current Flight so it is at the top of the list) 3. Reload and reset I use buttons to do the save and rest so the whole process takes about <15 secs Somehow it improves frame rate by 5 - 8 frames.
  12. Hello, I think I migt be interested in coming to a meeting. When next? I started training in Langley but constraints has held me back, just a couple of hours flying. I have put together simulator and have lots of fun learing and still do a bit of reading. Anthony

    Disappointed

Yep, I figured this much. Did'nt make sense to me. Did know why I used to run out of memory when fsx has such a very small footprint. I do have FTX Global. FTX England, Orbx NW, Pacific NW and UT Canada, USA, Europe and Caribbean VOXATC, Multicrew, Radr Contact, Ultimate Traffic and MY Traffic. Ground Services X Texture resolution at 4096. I use a TrackIR. My scenery files at extreme setting and Aviation /GA Traffic at 80% and a couple of addons that run in the background. And not too techy to investigate. But it is the one thing I did and I have not had a any issues with FSX in a very long time.

    Disappointed

My FSX used to freeze and stutters even when I upgraded or installed new scenery or aircraft. Pentium I7 @ 3.8GHz, Quad, Win 7 64bit 16Gb RAM 120 Gb SSD for Windows 7 256 Gb SSD for FSX. i even used to run out of memory when this happened. I did one simple thing. I changed my virtual memory from auto to system managed. I have not had any problems with freezing or stutter since. I fix my framerate at 25Hz which works for me. I have a very smooth running FSX, regardless of what aircraft or scenery files in use. I do have a separate computer for GA-Panel and Plan-G.
  15. I had similar experience with MCE with ATC not working. No response to ATC calls. Everything else seem to work. The co pilot, FSX commands and all. Did all the voice training and nothing. I use to get a humming sound when I press my PTT button or 'DEL' key. But that is all. My Call Sign was made up of aircraft type and alpha. eg. Piper foxtrot lima tango gulf. What I did was simply gave my call sign and easier name like the one used in the MCE manual. Like Piper 123 and it work...no problem. Don't know why but when I tried other Call Signs with more than 4 characters it just did not work. Try a short Call Sign. Just want to let you guys know my experience. I did get a lot of help from the support desk and they were very responsive and helpful. Thanks Guys. I love the Multi Crew Experience and all the features way better than the VOXATC which I used for quite a while.
