  1. Hello, we are excited to launch our Event Operations Team for our 2nd Annual Holiday Event. Due to the large scale of our event, it is important that Virtual United Airlines activate our Events Operations Team (EOT). The EOT will consist of one Operations Manager, one Communications Coordinator and two Operations Coordinators. These staff members will be responsible for the entire event. Each pilot participant are required to sign up via our form, which it is here https://docs.google.com/a/virtualua.org/forms/d/1HSFD-mUMaFVoY1GP1FHQsbMad0i82EVtKjSgxpF0ywI/viewform . zLA has requested that each pilot receive wheels on time in order to control the flow within the airspace around KLAX. Please remember for this event, we will be only arriving unto KLAX and not departing. Virtual United will be responsible for sending each pilot that who has signed up confirmation on their wheels up time. Each pilot will have until Friday, December 12 to sign up because it will allow us a few days to send each pilot their " PDC " Pre-Departure Clearances wheels up time for the event. We also will be sending zLA a list of pilots with Flight Numbers along with your VATSIM ID. Please fill out the form completely so we can get your confirmation back to you as soon as possible. Also, this will be your entry to win some prizes from our sponsors. You will receive an email from [email protected]. However, if you have any questions, please email our Events Operations Team at [email protected], if you have any questions or concerns. Blue Skies.
  2. Ok I ran it and found nothing out of the ordinary. All my other games like BF4, WildStar, SWTOR, etc. all run flawlessly at high settings, so at this point I'm stumped.
  3. I'm not sure how it's low end, it has 2 gigs of ram and is a upper mid-range graphics card. This card was just released this year, and FSX has been out since 2006. No screenshot utilities, tried the tweaks, nothing seems to be working.
  4. Hi guys, I just recently finished building my own budget gaming PC. I installed FSX the other day, and all the default aircraft fly smooth as silk with no stutters. I have only installed the latest version of FSUIPC and the NGX and 777-200LR and 300ER. However, I notice that both PMDG products stutter very noticeably once per second. When I hit the P key to pause the sim, the stutters go away. However, when I resume the flight after hitting P again to unpause, they immediately resume. I've tried tweaking my settings, rebuilding FSX.cfg, and nothing so far. I am running the following specs: ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard AMD FX-6300 6 core CPU @ 3.5 Ghz 8 GB DDR3 RAM Nvidia GTX 750Ti SC Windows 8.1 64 Bit
  5. Really enjoying it so far. The new features and the -300ER are amazing. However, the -300ER does seem to take a bigger hit on the FPS than the -200LR.
  6. Ok so has the Operations Center updated yet and is it an automatic update?
  7. Virtual American is happy to release our week one statistics! Since opening on Saturday, April 19th, we have had over 100 pilots join our VA, most of whom are active and flying. Since our opening, we have had over 600 flight logs (PIREP's) filed. This weekend alone, we had over 200 flight logs. We are receiving major support from the flight simulator community. While some may see us as a competitor, we do not. We see ourselves as a friendly virtual airline that simply wants to expand the heart and heritage of American Airlines and our OneWorld partners. We want our pilots to have fun, and we do that by actively supporting them and staying fresh by bringing in new programs. We do this because it's what we like to do! We plan to bring even more unique features to Virtual American in the near future. One of our latest features is the ability to add your own sound packs to our ACARS client. Pilots will soon be able to upload their own flight attendant and captain sounds. These sounds will automatically sync with the different phases of your flight. We also have plans to add a feature to our ACARS client that has never been seen in the history of virtual aviation. More on that is to come soon! We invite you to check us out and give us a try! Whether you are an experienced flight simmer or just starting out, we have something for everyone. Our fully custom systems and top of the line ACARS program, dubbed vAACARS, are the best in the industry and we are sure you will feel the same way! Gents, I'm having an issue with my displays in the VC. If I turn off High Quality VC in the FSX options, the panel goes grey and I have to switch views to get it to look right. At that point, the ND and all displays look frozen. However, if I click them and expand them, they are working. Same thing is happening for the AP knobs (speed and altitude selection, etc.). The numbers never change on the AP bar when I turn the knobs. However, If I turn High Quality VC on, I get my ND and speed display back, but everything else is still frozen. Here is an example: My specs are: Windows 8.1 64 bit, Intel i5 2430M 2.4ghz, 6 gb DDR3 RAM, Nvidia GT 540M 1 GB card. I had been using this add-on just fine until I had to recently reinstall FSX and all my add-ons. The PMDG 777 worked great the first flight, after that this has been happening. I've tried some suggestions that were offered in the forums like switching views, going from 3D to 2D cockpit then back, all to no avail.
  11. Well considering FSX has worked flawlessly for over 2 years on this laptop, I don't think that is the issue. I also forgot to mention that I keep my anti-malware/anti-virus up to date and run them weekly, to make sure my computer is clean, so I don't think it would be that either.
  12. Hello, I have just reinstalled FSX completely as it was slow and sluggish and would often freeze. Reinstalling has fixed it, but now I'm having new issues. First, my autopilot text seems to be non-existent. Here is a picture to show you: I'm not sure why this isn't showing up, as FSX installed correctly. I think there might be a missing font, but I have no clue what it is or where to find it. Also, this issue is happening with every single plane, even payware aircraft radios. Also, FSX is now crashing to desktop every time I use it. The first error in the Event Log showed it was the uiautomationcore.dll from the system32 directory of my computer. uiautomationcore.dll was not in my FSX main folder when this happened. I tried copying the file from the system32 folder to the main FSX directory and it still happens. Removed it, and it still continues. Now, the error isn't giving a specific module, so I have no idea how to fix it. The error is as follows: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3 Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x77431a91 Faulting process id: 0x48c Faulting application start time: 0x01cef212e0b81882 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe Faulting module path: unknown Report Id: b92e1899-5e06-11e3-bed8-14dae9cb6de6 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: My specs are: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit, 6GB DDR3 RAM, Intel i5 2430M 2.4Ghz, Nvidia 540M GT 1GB
  13. Hey guys, I just took the plunge and bought the 777. One big thing I am noticing in the VC is that the Nav Display tends to have a very low FPS. I even went in to the FMC and changed the FPS settings and deleted any FPS restrictions on the displays, and nothing. The FPS in-game is great, even better than the NGX. Is there any way to bring the FPS on the ND up? Edit: looks like this is happening for all the displays and not just the ND. - Jon Lamb
  14. We pretty much got confirmation today that it's coming this month when someone complained in the Passenger Load thread. I predict August 29th. - Jon Lamb
  15. Looks like the NDA was lifted today. Good sign. - Jon Lamb
