  1. Thanks for the reply, good, its not just my setup. Can we expect this to be corrected in V2.1 ?
  2. Pitot heat does what you are talking about, we are talking about engine alternate air not pitot alternate air.
  3. Its to combat icing issues, like carb heat for carbureted engines.
  4. I decided to fly the mission civil air patrol, and I noticed that the (engine alternate air) switch had no effect in the 3d cockpit of my maule. It would turn/move but had no effect. I had to switch to 2d mode to get it to function properly. Is anyone else having this issue? Is this a known issue? Thanks
  5. Add this to the wish list. http://videocardz.com/48216/evga-launch-geforce-gtx-780-ti-kingpin-edition-6gb-ram
  6. Its going to be very very rare to hit 2gb at those settings, if not ever. Wow, really? I guess I need to do more testing with weather.
  7. Yes, a single 1920x1080 monitor.
  8. 760 vs 660, the 760 is a little bit better all the way around. Now 760 vs 660ti, that's a close one. At 2gb you will be fine, as long as you don't crank up the settings. With very high settings (not maxed), I normally see 1.5gb to 1.8gb usage. Maxed at JFK I was seeing 2.6gb at 1920/1080. It hit 3gb just for a second, but was normally around 2.6gb or slightly below.
  9. What resolution are you running at?

PV2 is much better in so many ways compared to fsx and I so far am very happy with the improvements. But I don't think you guys have a clue what higher end rigs are capable of (graphics wise). The quality of visuals in PV2 still don't justify the hardware demand, I don't think PV2 takes advantage of hardware efficiently. Again, way better than FSX for sure. If LM had the development budget of Crytek or Valve, holy cow it would look like real life or as it currently sits run at 120fps maxed out on a mid range system. But this market is small so it is what it is. I just don't want you guys to think its hardware that's limiting these sims, its not, its the development budget/market.
  11. No problem, if you guys want me to run it in any other scenarios id be happy to.
  12. Usually (with very high playable settings) I see a usage of around 1.8gb and very rarely near 2.25gb at 1920x1080. So I would pick a 780ti. But for fun I loaded (everything maxed and turned on) at JFK, took off few around a bit in the Lockheed L049 and was hitting the vram limit (3gb). The frame rate was in the 20s. Edit: I ran it again after realizing I read a Max reading, it did hit 3gb for a second but normally was around 2.6gb. So I would go with the 780ti if you run 1920x1080 or less.
  13. Some might want to hold out for this! http://videocardz.com/47530/nvidia-geforce-gtx-780-ti-also-special-edition
  14. You don't need much if you are running at that res and don't plan to crank up the settings, a gtx650 will do the job fine.
  15. vram is video ram, or the amount on memory on your gfx card. 660 2gb card= 2gb vram.
  16. I have the evga 780 acx sc edition cards, I have it overclocked to 1163 on the chip. At 99% (with terrain cast shadows on) I am seeing 60c with a fan speed of 54%. Its not loud at all. Room temp is 22c.
  17. I found that the only thing that would make me hit the 99% was turning on terrain cast shadows and making sure to click inside the window once the sim was back on the screen. Could you check this with the 780ti?
  18. Well this sim officially has me scratching my head. I am now consistently seeing 99% gpu usage. I was testing all day yesterday and hardly ever saw it past 70% usually50-60% It seems to have to do with clicking with the mouse anywhere on the inside of the window. Even if you go full screen (which is how I was testing) it runs at 70% UNTIL you click inside the window with the mouse then bam 99% So make sure you click the sky! EDIT: ok I found that the above is only true if terrain cast shadows are on! With them off gpu usage is back to 60s
  19. I would at least go with a 770 4gb or a 780 3gb. I've been seeing 2.25gb of usage with my 780.
  20. That is one sweet card, I wish I had 2 of them. But I dont think you will see much performance gains with it in P3D over going with a basic 780. Mine only run at about 60-70% usage and it is also down clocking.
  21. I apologize, I had to run and only had time to reply to that part. Yes, I agree with you that vram can be a issue. I have been seeing 2.25gb usage (1080p maxed). I think its a good idea to have at least 3gb for vram not to be a issue at 1080p. Its not only the size that matters its how it looks (that's what she said). Games like BF4, GTA4, and Crysis 3 can use over 2gb of vram also. How? All of these sims, (bless them) (I do love them but) they are utter 1998 graphics equivalent xxxxx when compared to modern games. Let me explain, for example when you walk past plants and grass it moves as you brush by it! Compare that to the 4 sided green pixel sticks they call trees in P3D/FSX/XPLN. Again, I love these sims but don't act like they are the only ones possessing a bunch of information.
  22. I disagree. If gpu usage is not at 100% then the cpu, ram or vram is holding it back. In this case it is the cpu holding it back. There seems to always be at least 1 thread that is maxed out. I believe only 1 thread handles cpu to gpu data. The sim needs to be fixed to utilize more cpu power for cpu to gpu data. Just because the sim is large doesn't mean much. It only loads a predetermined amount of area around you.
  23. Interesting, 20%. You have a 6c/12t cpu 3/12=25%. I bet you wont ever see more than 25% usage with your cpu. And yes I agree it is much better. Do you think the cpu is still the bottle neck, albeit much better? I think P3D needs the ability to access more power from the cpu. particularly for cpu to gpu data. A common usage for me is 30%cpu 60%gpu 40-60fps. What does your gpu usage look like? The only way I am able to get 100% gpu usage is if I turn off all of the CPU heavy features (Traffic/autogen).
  24. Why is it that 4c/8t cpus seem to max out at 37.5% and 4c/4t cpus max out at 75%? That's what grabbed my attention, consistency between different cpus. Like I said before I dont understand why but its seem like consistent observation.
