  1. Hi Oliver,

I have had FFX for a while but only recently started getting right into it.

I am having an issue with FFX and AI aircraft dispatch.

I have read in the manual that aircraft can get stuck on the ground when the flight plan to a fire is too long. However, I am able to dispatch a single aircraft (any) to the fire-ground no problems. Starting Parked, it taxis from parking, pauses at the holding point of the runway, before taxiing out and taking off.

But for any aircraft dispatched after the first one, they all get stuck at the holding point to the runway.

Deleting them obviously removes them but a new dispatch results in the same outcome, stuck at the holding point.

    From the Manual:

    "5.11.11 Stuck AI planes
AI planes may get stuck, circling seemingly forever or not departing from
the runway at all. Best option then is to delete them, as they may not
    recover.
If an AI plane does not depart, this means an error has occurred with its
waypoint list – you will have to change Settings before you try again. The
most common problem is sending out AI planes over large distances (20
miles or more) and letting them fly AGL. This results in a list of thousands
of calculated waypoints, that the simulator just cannot cope with. In that
case, uncheck AGL and let them fly at MSL altitude, this reduces the
    waypoint list to manageable proportions
    ."

How do I uncheck or check AGL or MSL Altitude? This, I am yet to try as I can't seem to find it anywhere in FFX. When configuring an aircraft to dispatch I can see AI Cruise MSL Altitude, Initial AGL Altitude and Drop Altitude AGL, but that is it.

Really appreciate any feedback or help that you can suggest.

    Best regards,

    Andrew H-G

  2. I had my first "WOW" moment using Firefighter X today!

Currently, in my home state of Victoria, Australia, there are various Bushfires burning through remote bush. The majority started by lightning.

So I went for a virtual Obs flight today, based out of YHOT in my C337. Victoria has a fantastic public safety app/website/fire map available, so I found the closest out of control fire to YHOT which is listed as the Timbarra fire. It was listed in Firefighter X as the closest fire, so I dispatched a few AI Firehawks to follow out.

The WOW part was when I got to the virtual fire-ground and looked at the detailed map of the freely available Little Navmap and then at the online fire-map.

Little Navmap display: Aircraft all above fire-ground. Take note of river, contours and also roads.

And here is the Vic Emergency App/Website/fire map display, showing the fire-ground! Incredible!!

An absolute credit to the accuracy of both FirefighterX and the make and content of Little Navmap!

  3. Hi Alex,

    Thanks for taking the time!

With Little Navmap running, Firefighter X running, my user aircraft parked and a dispatched S-70 Firehawk (via Firefighter X), this is what the "AI / Multiplayer" in window "Simulator Aircraft" reads:

"No AI or multiplayer aircraft selected.
Found 32 AI or multiplayer aircraft."

On selecting the S70 Firehawk AI displayed on the map, this is then what it reads:

      27072 - helicopter, Blackhawk  Map

  4. Hi @albar965 @Lorby_SI,

I am wondering if it would be possible to configure Little Navmap and/or FirefighterX in such a way that fire information from Firefighter X (say, location/s and fire-ground perimeter/size and any other relevant info) can be displayed on the Navmap?

It would be a nice option over running an additional program i.e. Google Earth (a feature of FirefighterX) alongside the sim, Navmap and FirefighterX.

My educated guess was that any AI spawned by FirefighterX would be depicted, and they are. Both Helis and Fixed Wing are depicted on the Little Navmap display with an "FFXAI-" tag, the aircraft type and flight info.

It seems like all that's left is the fire depiction.

Do either of you incredible innovators think it might be possible, as a joint effort or from one end or another, to represent the fire information also?

Since you both share the Avsim forums I thought I'd ask you together... I hope that's ok. Whether it's more of a Firefighter X subject or Little Nav Map subject, I'm not sure, so I flipped a coin and posted the topic here!

    Best regards,

  5. Hi there,

I am getting multiple Unhandled Exceptions when trying to use the latest version of Addon Organiser. I had a previous version installed prior to updating but am unsure whether I was supposed to backup something before uninstalling and installing the latest version...

At this stage, I am getting the UE errors when trying to add or press cancel while adding scenery or components. Then once selecting the quit option I get a UE error when the manager tries to check that I want to quit...

    V1.39 b04

I don't recall my previous version but it had been a little while since I had done any updates. Probably around 2 months..

    Things are haywire!!

    Hope you can help,

    Regards,

    Andrew

  6. Hi all, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and has any info or possible solution.

The problem is that when I switch to the "Outside View: Locked Spot" (usually f11 for me) the view has to catch up to whatever aircraft I am flying. I think it starts at or near when I last used the view so it could be several thousands or hundreds of kilometers. It is all blurry at the start and the camera view is physically chasing across land and/or sea after my aircraft until it catches up to it.

I never had this issue with FSX boxed edition but for the past year or two of using FSX-SE extensively it has been a problem.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  7. Have a look into the aircraft that Milviz did with Nemeth Designs.... Nemeth Design has quite a few of their own too. There is about four of them that Milviz and Nemeth Designs did. I have no real world experience so I have no real clue about flight dynamics but if your after great VC's and over all detail they are basicaly at the level of Cerasim. I wish A2A could to a chopper. It would be imposible to go past it!
