Turned 13 recently. I feel so young I've been simming for less than a year but it's amazing. Taking my simming to my career though, looking to be an airline pilot in the future - already training!

Thank you all SO much for the excellent tips! I will now have my airport charts handy. Recently, I started to fly the fun/manual approaches, such as Maderia, JFK 13L, LGA 31 Expressway Visual, Toncontin and Kai Tak! It's great. And I will practice ATC comms as well. Your help is much appreciated!

Hi, In response to my other post about a laptop - I may sell my current rig that I recently built - it has an i5-4670K, an MSI 2GB GTX750ti, 8GB Kingston HyperX Fury 1600MHZ RAM, 1TB HDD Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm, Asus 24X DVD Writer/Reader, MSI Z87-G41 Mobo, Corsair CX500 Power Supply, Windows 7 Ultimate and the case is a Corsair 200R. Those look pretty good for my price range. Yeah, that's the only thing. My current rig has win 7, I don't know what fsx will do if I switch to Win 8.1 :/ I've heard about all of the crashes, so idk. Is it possible to uninstall Windows 8.1 and install 7?

Thanks! Actually I don't need something superb. Something like a 4670K with a 660 or 750 would work. And it's windows 8...doesn't FSX not run properly on it?

Hello, Recently, with the help of some people on this forum, I built a computer (specs are below) with FSX running smoothly and perfectly for me. I have been moving around a lot and I am starting to think I should've bought a laptop. Not that I will buy one in the immediate vicinity, I am just looking to see if there are any good ones for FSX that will run it decently. With that, I mean something like what I currently have - I don't use a bunch of addons, mainly default scenery but I fly planes such as the NGX, A2A 172 and Aerosoft Airbus X, which run fine under my current system. Anyone who could find a good laptop with similar specs- thanks!! My budget is around $1200 at the max.

Hi, I'm looking to purchase Track IR for my FSX system (I fly the a2a C172). I use one large 32" monitor that is 1080p but I run it at 1768x992. Is it possible to use track ir on this one monitor, and would it work well? Oh ok. Thanks for your help! I have a low/medium end graphics card (750ti) and it is only 2GB but I still got 30fps and above on the NGX with settings on high/ultra high. Very nice set up! Thanks for your input and information I wish I could do this now but it seems to be a lot of money. I would have to be 3 27" monitors that are the same, each would be $250. I'd also need a graphics card that is better - another 300 to 400 bucks. I think I will save the money for my flight lessons

Thank you for the information! I am just running it on a 32" 1080p TV right now with the other 20" monitors not in use. 20" would be too small for the VC in the 3 monitor set up so I probably shouldn't do it. It would be costly to buy 2 other 32" monitors so I don't know yet.

Hello all, Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere. I currently am flying the A2A Cessna 172 Trainer. My system specs are below, and I have 3 monitors - one of them is an iSymphony 32" 1080p HDTV, and 2 Dell 20" 1600x900 monitors. I am thinking about getting another monitor and completely ditching the 32" so I could display the VC across 3 monitors, but I have no idea how to do it and if it is possible with my computer system. Can I do it, and would it be worth it? Do you think it is better to just run it on one screen? I am currently doing that, and the two 20" monitors have no use now for FSX, unlike when I used them as panels with FSPanelStudio on the NGX. Suggestions and help would be much appreciated! Although it seems very easy to do, I'm absolutely terrible at doing these kinds of things so it would be much appreciated if someone could paint it. I'm requesting this specific plane because I am on my way to becoming an airline pilot, and recently I had my first ever flight at the controls with 8MC, at 39N. Ok, now the pitot tube cover is completely gone. After each reinstall, something disappears. What's going on here?

Hi, thank you for the info. I just got the light switches view back, and now the Instrument close up is gone - they are not custom views. I understand that the GPS is going to stay like that unless I purchase RXP, but I'm still wondering what's wrong with the views. Is there a procedure so I can delete all of the A2A C172 files on the computer, and then reinstall it and the update?

Hello, I installed the update and still, the switch panel on the bottom view for the VC is not there - I've seen it on videos, and the data on the GPS is missing somewhat. Thanks I just did another reinstall, and the light switches view but now the close up of instrument view is gone?
