  1. Nice video! Adding my piece to the cake here ... Qantas introduced the 400ER in 2002 into their fleet. They received six aircraft and they are the only airline (pax) to fly them. I can't wait to do Qantas 400ER flights in the PMDG 747v2 !!
  2. Pretty cool! I wonder why Lufthansa painted their latest 748i in these colors? Anniversary coming up maybe? EDIT: Yup! Seems like Lufthansa's 60th Anniversary is coming up. http://airwaysnews.com/blog/2015/02/14/lufthansa-reveals-retro-livery-on-boeing-747-8/ cheers!
  3. Very nice indeed! But too bad we won't see any of these effects most of the time because of flying from the VC.
  4. In the flightsim during a flight with the Triple Seven pull up your FMC: Go to Menu / PMDG Setup / Options / Simulation (Page 6/7) / set Splashes in Daylight to Enabled
  5. You have to activate the splashes for Landing Lights/Taxi Light in the PMDG-setup in the FMC.
  6. +1 Just flew the Lufthansa Cargo 8400 flight in the MD-11F a short time ago. Around-the-world-in-66hrs-trip. It would've been twice the fun with a Voice Commander edition
  7. Has someone created this livery for the B777-300ER yet? If not, I might just have to get into repainting aircraft ^_^ Cheers
  8. I have it there so I don't have to deal with User Account Control on Win7 and Security interfering when installing Addons. It has been on C:\ for years now. I remember reading not to install FSX into Program Files etc. a couple years back.
  9. C:\Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 777X ... :Black Eye: But seriously! Last trip was Vancouver to Auckland in the LR. Chasing the sunset over the pacific.
  10. This is what Lufthansa is doing in Frankfurt. Same system as EGTS I guess. "eTaxi: electrically powered landing gear for taxiing procedures The eTaxi project is investigating the application and technical integration of an electric drive on the main undercarriage for short and medium-haul aircraft for all taxiing movements on the apron. The drive energy for the system, integrated into the main undercarriage, is exclusively electric, generated and supplied by the aircraft's own APU. The motor can be used both for pushback and for taxi-out and taxi-in to and from the runway. The on-board system is controlled from the cockpit and could be deployed at any airport, independent of available infrastructure. To ensure a wide field of application, the retrofitting of the drive system to the Airbus A320 range of aircraft is being evaluated. This would require modifications on the main undercarriage." Source: http://www.lufthansa-technik.com/emobility So yes, the APU is needed to power the electric motors located at the main-undercarriage. They also tested a hybrid-towing vehicle for heavy aircraft with a range of about 7 kilometers (4-5 miles).
