Flights over the Southern Pacific
In the Pacific it's mostly User-Prefered-Routings. So you plan for prevailing winds and weather. Other than that you have to plan a waypoint every 80min and/or at FIR boundaries. Also position reports via HF, when available, or FANS 1/A. Especially in the Southern Pacific, you have no other options than using a 4-holer as equipment because of the lack of alternate airports. Same goes for the South Atlantic/southern Indian Ocean. For example I did QFA64 (FAOR-YSSY) yesterday and the only alternates where FALE, FIMP and then YPPH (and later YMML). If you're going Australia - US West Coast there are a lot more options. Interesting article discussing the matter: http://aviationweek.com/business-aviation/operating-south-pacific Routings, at least in case of Qantas, mostly show up on Flightaware two hours preceding the departure for flights you are looking for.

PMDG 747
As you correctly said the PreceiptFX package replaces the default ones with its own effects, but keeps the name so every aircraft can use the new contrails effects. So here's what you do to get them on the PMDG 747. 1. Go into your effects folder and make a copy of the default contrail effect ('fx_contrail_l.fx' & 'fx_contrail_s.fx'), which, if you have PreceiptFX installed, are already replaced by the PreceiptFX contrail. 2. Paste them on your desktop or wherever 3. Go to the effects folder again and look for 'fx_vaportrail_l.fx' & 'fx_vaportrail_r.fx'. Those are the PMDG 747 contrails. 4. Now rename the copies you put on your desktop: 'fx_contrail_l.fx' --> 'fx_vaportrail_l.fx' 'fx_contrail_s.fx' --> 'fx_vaportrail_r.fx' 5. Move the renamed files to your effects folder and replace the existing files (default PMDG 747 contrail) there. 6. Enjoy the PreceiptFX contrails on the 747 cheers

PMDG 747
It's because the PMDG 747 uses its own contrails, namely its own effect. I got around it by replacing the 747's contrail files in the 'effects' -folder with the standard contrail_l.fx, contrail_r.fx (I think those are the file names), which are replaced by the PreceiptFX contrails. Just copy the standard ones and replace them with 747 contrail's file name. So you should end up with the standard ones and the 747's ones which are now the same, but have a different name. cheers

Qantas retires first (and last) Boeing 747-438ER Longreach
Nice video! Adding my piece to the cake here ... Qantas introduced the 400ER in 2002 into their fleet. They received six aircraft and they are the only airline (pax) to fly them. I can't wait to do Qantas 400ER flights in the PMDG 747v2 !!
- This will crack you up

Official 777 Immersion Video
Very nice indeed! But too bad we won't see any of these effects most of the time because of flying from the VC.

FS2crew voice addition for PMDG MD 11
+1 Just flew the Lufthansa Cargo 8400 flight in the MD-11F a short time ago. Around-the-world-in-66hrs-trip. It would've been twice the fun with a Voice Commander edition

Has someone created this livery for the B777-300ER yet? If not, I might just have to get into repainting aircraft ^_^ Cheers
