  1. Hi Folks.

I'm needing a bit of techy help. I have a wireless dongle into a usb port on the front of my pc. It is used for my wireless keyboard and mouse and works well. I currently have a wired headset into the rear 3.5 mm jacks. My question is this, would that same dongle support two wireless headsets also? I have a buddy who has asked to 'sit in' on some flights with me. I would replace my wired headset with one of the wireless ones.

    Cheers...Ken.

edit. It looks like Bluetooth settings in my pc is the answer. I'll investigate that further.

  2. Hello again.

In my quest for more information regarding the SD+. I have discovered the SD Editor app from the main website. I have installed it and have it working. The version is 1.07 b11. The documentation refers to double clicking an action to open the Action Editor panel. When I click on a 'button/action' nothing happens. Am I misreading the information? What do I have to do to open the Action Editor. I have no intention of 'tampering'. I just wish to read the information as per the document.

    Regards...Kenny.

  3. I have indeed been reading through the docs. However, I must admit it has been more of a scan than a read as I felt I was not understanding them. Now, after all of your help and answers, I feel better equipped to read these docs without feeling overwhelmed.

    Regards...Kenny.

  4. Hello again.

I do have Developer mode turned on, and I have been trying to figure out when and how to make use of the Behaviours section. I find it quite overwhelming at the moment because I do not fully understand all of the jargon. I have never seen the IE variables before. I'll need to find out more about them. Thanks for taking the time to test that input. I'm a retired firefighter, and as such, I have had zero dealings with RPN prior to going down the rabbit hole of trying to make aircraft work without a mouse!!...LOL

    Cheers...Kenny.

If you are going to create your own scripts or StreamDeck actions, there is no way around requesting a raise.

Wow, thank you so much for elaborating and communicating that info. I appreciate it once again. My apologies for the late reply. I fly online with a friend on a Friday evening. I'll read and digest all that you have written.

    Best Regards...Kenny.

p.s. I said to my wife earlier, that for me, it is like learning to bake a loaf of bread and asking what flour is!! Still, I'm keen to learn. Cheers.👨‍🎓

  6. Mmmm, okay. Thanks for the info, and I know you will shake your head a bit here, but the info is still a bit above my pay grade😵. Here is the Manage Script Groups window. This is what I have been using so far to 'code' my SD+ buttons. I have simply been using the variable part of the line of code and entering it into the Read window in the SD+ software. I have no idea what the L var part of the line means, unfortunately. I'm still wading through the various web pages of documentation, like the FS2020 SDK Events and Variables pages and also the PDF for AAO.

    I appreciate your help.

    Cheers...Kenny.

  7. Hello again. My knowledge is very limited at the moment, but so far I have been simply reading the appropriate variable code from the script and typing it into the 'Read' section of the Stream Deck software. Is that what you mean by 'calling the script'? I have attached a screenshot of the content buttons in my 'Thrust' folder. As you will see I am simply typing in what AAO is showing me when I select the action/event from the script. I am even a bit unsure of the correct terminology. I have used this method for the two battery toggles as well as the fuel buttons, the engine start buttons and the APU toggle as well as the external lights. It all works so far and I am in awe of how it all comes together. However, I can't get the autopilot FMS/MAN speed toggle to work by pressing the button in the SD+ and I don't know why.😕

  8. Hi Folks, I'm trying to set up an SD+ button for the C700 AP SPD toggle using this code from a downloaded script in AAO (L:XMLVAR_SpeedIsManuallySet,·Bool)·!·(>B:AUTOPILOT_Speed_Mode_Set) However, nothng happens in the sim. When I 'RUN' the script in AAO the toggle works in the sim. I've double checked my spelling in the various boxes, now I'm stuck. Can someone give me a clue as to what I should be entering into AAO?

    Regards...Kenny.

  9. Thanks for the prompt reply. I appreciate it. I have to say that your response will require quite a bit of research on my part. This will be an interesting journey for me. I am by no means  conversant with the inner workings of RPN. I'll go away and have a trial of what you propose and do some homework on AAO. I am keen to learn though.

    Cheers...Kenny.

  10. Hi Folks. I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some help with mapping the Longtitude MFD GTC's rotary knobs to my Xtouch mini rotary knobs. A friend over in the WT Discord channel gave me this event  AS3000_TSC_Vertical_2_INC/DEC for zooming the screen. However, the list of html variables in AAO does not list that. How would I find that in AAO? To be fair, my friend uses a different programme from AAO. Can anyone advise me on the best way to find the correct event for zooming the MFD screen in AAO? I don't mind a spot of trial and error, but I am unsure how to do that for html events. I have watched a few YT videos and have grasped the basics of using AAO but I am not a techy with regard to the various sim events and variables.

    Regards...Kenny.

  11. Hello again Alex.

Yes, I can see that now. I saw the (T) and (Q) references within the document that I quoted from and simply wondered if it had a similar meaning within LNM. Now that I have found the relevant section of the user manual and with your explanation I can see that there is no connection whatsoever.

Thanks for your help, and thanks also for your dedication to the simulator community.

    Regards...Kenny.

  12. Hello Alex.

This is for the Approach ILS 21 (T) at London Biggin Hill , EGKB. It has an Ident of FF21 and there are indeed two different Transitions. There are in fact three approaches listed for Biggin Hill. Each of them has the (T) designator. However, there are lots of airports with the (T) designation showing for their approaches, not just in the U.K. Belp (LSZB) is another example I flew into. It has two approaches, one is an ILS and the other is an RNAV. They both show the (T).

I will continue to search for the website I found a few weeks ago. I am sure that it had a mention of different altitudes for the (T) and (Q) designators.

    Cheers...Kenny.

edit. I have had another look at the LNM user manual and in Section 25. Search Procedures. The listing at 25.2 Procedure Tree, bullet point 1 Description, states that the Suffix (T) indicates present transitions. I am sure that I read something about altitudes somewhere else. I may well be mistaken though.

Further edit. I found it. Here is what I was looking for...

"With the invention of RNAV routes, airway structure no longer has to be based on ground-based navaids; a new naming convention is used. RNAV routes not based on VOR routes in low altitudes are preceded with the letter "T"; high airway routes are designated with the letter "Q". RNAV routes are depicted in blue on low and high altitude charts produced by the FAA's Aeronautical Navigation Products."

This is perhaps not the intended usage in LNM. I think that LNM is simply meaning that there are different transitions available as per Section 25 in the Manual.

  13. Hi Folks.

Thanks for pitching in, pun intended...LOL. A lot of good info there. MarcG, yes, I think that is what I was trying to remember. I knew there was a setting but just could not remember on the spur of the moment when I was flying with him yesterday. gb09f, I'll tell him to check which DirectX version he is using. Thanks. Waldo, he is only thirteen but wishes to become a pilot. Messing with an experimental setting may be too much for him. Having said that, the majority of youngsters are more than likely way more tech savvy than I am. I'll mention it to him.

Thanks guys. I'll report back with any result.

    Regards...Ken.

  14. Hi Folks.

A young friend of mine is complaining about slow movement of gauge display numbers. By that, I mean, when he is tuning frequencies he sees the previous LED segments still showing faintly as the numbers change. Also, his speed and altitude tape numbers get jumbled together as he climbs or descends. Today, I showed him how to update his Nvidia card driver. He was quite a few driver versions behind. He is on Windows 11 and using an Nvidia RTX3060Ti. I have not spoken with him since he updated the driver as we were running out of time.

I seem to remember a while back that there was an issue with numbers and there was a fix for it. Does anyone remember if that was the case? If not, does anyone have any ideas why his numbers are not changing immediately and are 'lagging' slightly.

    I hope this makes sense.

    Regards...Kenny.

  15. Hi Folks here is a strange one. I have just installed a Bravo throttle quadrant and have discovered that my CH yoke has disappeared from the Control Options in MSFS2020. Does anyone know if the Bravo overrides other controllers?

    Regards...Kenny.

Dohh...Operator error. I had also been re-arranging my desk layout and had changed the layout of my usb cables. I have two usb cards and it looks like there is a faulty port in one of them. I changed the port for the yoke and it is now working.
