  1. Hi Ryan78, When you mentioned "but my yoke or throttle won't turn on when I plug it in", I suspected the yoke is not in working condition. Since you have pursued all the driver installing and testing processes, may I suggest the following trouble shooting methods (only if you have basic electronic skill and do this on your own risk): If you still have the yoke bottom case opened, use a multimeter to test the +5v or 4. something voltage readings are existed in the roll and pitch axes potentiometers. Placing the multimeter +v probe to 1st tab and -ve probe to 3rd tab of each potentiometer. Ignore the middle tab which is the signal output. It does not hurt which side is the 1st tab, your reading result is either +5v or -5v on your multimeter. Just be cautious not shorting any parts in the controller circuit. If you do not see the +5v showing up, then the yoke is not power up correctly. If you do see the +5v, then the problem might be the controller failed to communicate to the PC via USB port . One more test is the USB cable. Make sure the USB cable is not broken. You can google how to test the USB cable. This will create the no power or lack of communication issues if the USB cable is broken. If the USB cable is OK, then the controller broad inside the yoke might be defective. Hope the above methods work for you.

Hello diavyd, May I suggested you to post a screen shot of your game controller property screen or in the flight sim configuration screen if this will not cause too much trouble to you, In my opinion, the screen shot will give us much more clues to the problem. Then would you please to point out what you are expecting but not showing up on the screen and explain your expectation in your posting. This will minimize the tuorble shooting time and might pin point to the solution much faster. Please excuse me if I offend you in anyway.
  4. In my built (similar to your headset) I used the magnetic media disc in floppy disk as the filter. Also each led was filed down from cone shape to flat shape to increase the exposure sensitivity for the camera to catch the led position. Hope these help.
  5. The non-conventional wiring scheme inside some of the Saitek TQ OEM controller board caused the TQ HE sensor failed to work. This video will identify the problem inside the TQ and provide the solution to restore the HE sensor function. Just in case you are interested in finding out the detail.   7. Hello saitek_pilot, The 3D printed files are not released to public. in order to re-capture my development, material and supplies costs, I will make a few kits from my left over parts for sell. In fact this 100% reimbursement fees will be spent to purchase more tools (recently ordered a CNC 3018 machine) and parts for more coming interesting projects. Norman
  8. Hello saitek_pilot, The sensor is a linear hall effect sensor which can be found in Google by searching A3503. The switch is a micro push-on switch.   9. These past few days I am working and evaluating on the Saitek TQ installation process for better cost and benefit improvement. In my opinion it seems like the DIY soldering is the top choice for DIYers. The one with HE connectors is tedious and time consuming. If one can take apart the TQ easily, then he or she will have no problem in soldering the wires I assumed. So I will give up the connector version. Go simple....:). If one does not have the skill in soldering, please find your friend to help. OR if you can twist the wires one by one together and use tape to secure and insulate the wires might work too, then no soldering is needed. Thanks for watching.
  10. Hello C2615, So glad for your interest in my project. To my understanding (with very limited electronic training), this HE sensor does not need any modification to Saitek TQ controller board for both PS2 and USB version. The HE sensor is just a voltage divider but in transistor nature like the mechanical potentiometer does. The proper connection to power and ground are critical to HE sensor, otherwise the sensor will be overheated and burnt. I have performed the calibration on this HE sensor in (1) Windows 8/10 calibration drivers alone, (2) FSX (non steam version) and (3) Xpalne 11 calibration screens the windows 8/10 and Xplane is the winner with better and easy calibration than the FSX. As always the FSX has some imperfect performance. I do not know the reason why the FSX has this result. The necessary step I will recommend is totally clear the old calibration data sitting in the REG in your computer system then re-calibrating with the HE senor unit installed.   12. Finally my project to give the bad potentiometer infected Saitek Throttle Quadrant a second life is completed. I have produced three separate video to demonstration the conversion process by discarding the defective potentiometers and upgrade the Throttle Quadrant to a Hall Effect sensor version.   18. Hello himmelhorse, Very glad to hear from you again. It is so encouraging to learn the yoke HE upgrade that you have is meeting your expectation. That means all my efforts in HE upgrade projects are well pay off. 🙂 For the TPM HE upgrade, I will publish the whole installation process later on youtube. It should be a long and good one (might break it down into 3 separate video sessions) to show you every single step from start to finish in completing this process. Hope it will not bore you to death. The major point is no soldering is needed. Just plug and play sort of. Of course I will be available to help if you have questions. Talk to you later. This is exactly what you will be facing in this challenge. 🙂 Here is the link of the photo on YouTube. Brief description of the process: 1) Remove the old magazine from the box. 2) Open up the magazine and discard the old lever and potentiometer. 3) Install the HE components as shown in picture. 4) Install the reverse switch not shown here. 5) Connecting wires. 6) Assemble magazine back to box.   20. Hi to all, I am working on an enhanced Hall Effect HE upgrade kit (with reverse function solved) for Saitek PS2 or USB TPM (throttle quadrant). I am also curious how many of you would like to upgrade the OEM potentiometers in your throttle quadrant into a Hall Effect sensors. This will benefit those who have suffered from the unstable or defective potentiometers without dumping the Saitek TPM box with a good controller board into the trash can. Per some Simflyers wishes to hold on to their USB Saitek TPM after replacing the bad potentiometers as a good temporary solution with the new honeycomb yoke before purchase the honeycomb TPM unit. In my opinion ( I am not an expert though) the Saitek does have a good design and value in sim gear for beginner, except the notorious bad potentiometer reliability. I realized the Saitek new USB TPM price is become expensive compare to 5 five years ago, but still affordable than other TPM products. For many years before 2019 I was in the same position as other with a terrible "jitter" nightmare and frustration in my Saitek PS2 and USB TPM due to their old age. My new developing HE kit saves my Saitek TPM from going into the recycle bin. However in my HE design, you still need reasonable basic DIY skill in taking the TPM apart, removing the OEM lever and the defective potentiometer then install the HE components (new lever and HE sensor) back by yourself. That means you will do this with your own risk and void all remaining quarantee of your flight gear offered by Saitek/Logitech. I have some left over parts for a couple more set of HE upgrade. Just want to recapture my total cost of this development for materials and tools. Later I will make an instruction video on Youtube for my HE kit upgrade to share.
