Hello John, Unfortunately this does not help - in any of the exterior views the pilot inside is still corrupt. To add to the confusion, the control stick in the RV8 cockpit does not turn or move, it stays skewed to the left. Hmmmm.....! George

Strange title...but true On several previous computers and now my new rig, the Vertigo RV8 in both tricycle and taildragger variants has the pilot's jacket, torso, legs etc. invisible and the pilot's head, hands and seatbelts are there. Also, their Stearman does not have any people at all in it. I know, a Vertigo Studios thread should be placed at their end, I have done so several times with no avail, unfortunately. So, this is my last hope to be able to practice aerobatics without disintegrating pilots in the process! Specs Intel I5 @ 3.4Ghz GTX750ti 2GB 2x1TB HDD 8GB RAM Hope this isn't too confusing George

Thanks vc10man, I did pick up a DVI-I to VGA adaptor, plugged into the system and now the monitor works perfectly. Thanks

Purchased a new computer with a Gigabyte GTX750ti 2048mb graphics card, and I have an old Dell E196WFPv monitor. The monitor has a VGA 15-pin socket, and a 24-pin DVI output, with a horizontal slit to the side of the holes on the DVI socket. The PC has a 15-pin VGA socket. When the VGA cable is used the monitor receives no input and goes into 'Power Save' mode. There is a new DVI socket with 24 pins physically attached to the new GTX750 unit. However rather than having a flat pin alongside the 24 holes, it has a crosshair ( horizontal and vertical slots) arrangement and 4 pins around the slots. (all beside the 24 holes) So, my question is - what cable do I need? The VGA cable seems a dead end, and after shelling out an awful lot of money I do not want to have to return it! I do hope this isn't too confusing to understand. IT seems the VGA socket on the tower would not work because the GTX750 bypasses this socket, but that's from a 'layman's' perspective and I would not know. George

Thanks Poppet, I tried as the article suggests but to no avail. If it helps, I tried downloading the .exe files again, it freezes on the ''Running Security Scan'' bar along the bottom page, and the exe files I already have do not run at all, just like before. A conundrum indeed! George

Hi Having a very annoying situation in which any downloaded files, for example, but not limited to ALL lhsimulations sceneries, Just Flight demo aircraft, or full-versions, etcetera. When clicked on, the cursor will rotate, as normal, but then the entire Windows Explorer freezes and stays that way for hours. After this, it just does not run at all, as if I have never clicked on it. I try restarting Explorer in the task manager but it does not come back after that so I have a blank screen afterwards. Any advice? I's only been happening for the past few days but I do not recall installing anything recently. George

Tried looking on many websites, PCAviator, Virtavia's website etc. and for the life of me I cannot find any of the Alphasim Lightning's. I have the freeware 'F1, F1a and F2, with the early rounded fins, but I am looking for any of the Alphasim Lightning F.6 or T.5 with the later square-tipped fins. If you have seen it anywhere for download or purchase, any help appreciated. 232

I tried to run the FS9. exe in the root folder as a right click. Click on 'Run as administrator' and that worked for me.

Does anybody know of a place where I can get the RanchoJEN C150, the one with all the original models and repaints eg. Taildragger, aerobat repaints, Reims repaints etc. The original French site fs-tutoriels.com is down and has been for a while, so any help would be appreciated.

Problem solved! A fix from another website makes FS2004 independent of disc 4 and it all works! Hooray

Hello, I have bought a new computer to take FS2004 again. Now it has some new-fangled Windows 8 (and now there's Windows 10) So, on installation of FS9, onto a new directory not in the Program Files folder, when I click on the desktop icon, it says ''Please login with administrator privileges and try again'' ('Access Denied' at the top) So, rather bemused, I do, by right-clicking the FS9.exe and running as administrator. When I do this, it asks me for permission, I say yes, then the cursor buffers a bit, then nothing happens at all. I do understand if this is a bit short on information, it's all I have got at the moment after hours of reinstalls and frustration. I have a 2.2Ghz processor, it's an Acer laptop and I have used FS9 before on laptops with less power, so I'd say performance is not the issue; it must be something else. I am trying to change a FS2004 aircraft MDL to FSX Steam native MDL. This means I don't have a FSX SDK that came with the old FSX before DG resold it, so is it possible to convert the MDL: and if so, how exactly? I am not very good with modelling on computers, and the Model Converter X does not work well either.
