  1. Hi I don't own any CH products so am unable to comment on those specifically. My current setup is a Saitek X52, which works fine. I've never tried a route with departure and destination ICAO's only. However, I do recommend learning about SIDs and STARs as it takes your simming to a new level of realism and immersion. Try the following video which is a quick tutorial for SIDs and STARs:
  2. Hello I've created a couple of starter videos for the Flight Factor 767. The first covers take-off, the second covers full auto-landing. The videos are based on a short trip from Gatwick to Amsterdam. Take-off: Landing:
  3. If anyone's interested: A video showing how to get the Flight Factor 767 into the air quickly and competently: Part two is the landing phase showing full autoland capability.
  4. Hi Tony - it's a pleasure. Thank YOU for all your hard work on the product! I'd be delighted for you to post a link on the World2XPlane site. While I have you on the phone, so to speak, I'd LOVE to do a preview on your autogen stuff for the UK. Feel free to IM me if there's anything that can be done. Thanks.
  5. Thanks for your kind comment and the idea, Dave. I'll certainly give it serious consideration.
  6. I've just added the fourth video in the series. It shows how to add 3D objects using World2XPlane.
  7. I've just added the fourth video in a series on how to improve the scenery in X-Plane 10. This episode shows how to add 3D objects using World2XPlane. The result improves the above ground view for added realism and immersion.
  8. Thanks for catching that! I missed that the video still contained the word 'tutorial' when I published it. It wasn't meant to be there so I've edited it out. Apologies for any confusion.
  9. Recently, after years of inactivity, Ezdok announced an update. Should you install it? Why might you want to install it? I created a video to address these questions. There's special value for users of FSX Steam Edition and Prepar3d.
  10. Thanks for your kind comment I agree. It really helps to bring the environment alive and improves immersion. It's also a huge boon to those practicing VFR flights in their local area.
  11. alpilotx gave the perfect answer. Referring to your later comment about updates overwriting this type of change, you're absolutely right. It is a nuisance. But that's what we've got for now and luckily, it's not too difficult to re-apply after an update. Thanks! Thank you!
  12. I've added a new video to my series "X-Plane 10 Ultra-Realism for FREE". The new video, part 3 of the series, is titled "Creating Photo Scenery with g2xpl"

  14. Hi All I mention the correlation between ZL and FPS in upcoming videos but here's a taster. On my system, this is the performance that I'm seeing: ZL Frame Rate None 57 16 59 17 58 18 57 19 50 20 38 Note the significant drop at ZL19 and more so at ZL20. One of the reasons I think my frame rate looks good has to do with my choice of geography. The Channel Islands are three islands set in a large expanse of water within a 1 degree square. I think this plays well to the way that XPX loads up mesh and textures. I'm unable to get similar rates when flying from the centre of London, for example. If I need to bump up the FPS for a video, so that it appears smooth, the first thing I usually remove from my rendering options is HDR. This has a dramatic effect. Often doubling my FPS (I haven't had to do this for any of my videos so far). As some of you have already mentioned, checking the amount of video RAM consumed by current rendering options is also important. Keep it below your available VRAM and you'll be less likely to get stutters. Hope that helps.
  15. @User72 Hi Matthew Sure. my specs are listed below. I usually post this on my YouTube videos too, where appropriate: Motherboard Giga-Byte GA-Z77X-UD5H CPU Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @3.50GHz OS Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit Storage 32.0 GB RAM Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 647MHz (9-9-9-24) 119GB Samsung SSD 840 PRO Series (SSD) 931GB Seagate ST31000524AS (SATA) 111GB SanDisk SDSSDX120GG25 (SSD) 476GB Crucial_CT512MX100SSD1 (SSD) HID Saitek X52 HOTAS Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudder Pedals Video Hardware 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 (EVGA) DELL2407WFPHC (1920x1200@59Hz) DELL 2007WFP (1680x1050@60Hz) Video Software Camtasia v8.4 NVIDIA ShadowPlay Audio Hardware NVIDIA High Definition Audio Turtle Beach EarForce X12 Rode USB Microphone Audio Software Audacity v2.0.5 Camtasia v8.4 @MikeT707 As scotchegg says, Tony (tonywob) is working on that very thing at the moment. The screenshots are fantastic and I was hoping to get a pre-view so I could include it in my videos. I don't think I've convinced him enough yet That said, I'll drop you a PM. I'd be interested in anything that you have. Thanks.
  16. Thanks everybody for your kind comments. So far, I have 10 videos planned for the series. If anyone has anything they'd like me to cover, I'd welcome hearing about it. Thanks.
  17. Tony This is awesome! Jaw droppingly good. As you know, I am doing a YouTube series on improving the look of X-Plane called 'XPlane - Ultra-Realism for FREE'. I'd LOVE to include some reference to this work you're doing, for a number of reasons: a. It's excellent! b. The area I am working with, Jersey in the Channel Islands, has poor OSM coverage Both major conurbations on the island are poorly described for residential properties such as those you exhibit here. Feel free to ping me off-line. Be great to hear from you. -- FSProUK aka MrCobolman on YouTube
  18. Thanks Tony - much appreciated. Needless to say. I have a video coming up in the series that's devoted to World2XPlane but I am certain it will benefit from your input. If there's anything you'd like me to mention, please feel free to ping me. Thanks again.
  19. A new series of videos has just started on YouTube titled "X-Plane Ultra-Realism for FREE". No prior knowledge of X-Plane or scenery is required. Every step is described. Designed for beginner to intermediate (though there are occasional tips, tricks and products that may benefit all, no matter your experience level). Promo video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=MZ53Z874rrM Subscribe here for the rest of the series: http://www.youtube.com/user/MrCobolman?sub_confirmation=1
