  1. Thanks all, I tried FSRealtime last night and it doesn't do what I need. I found a small program at FS Mine which has a time converter - I can enter my present Simulator time, then enter a reporting time (eg. oceanic or an ETA), and it will spit out the true Zulu equivalent. I prefer daylight flying: having spent a lot of money on scenery, It's nice to be able to see it!! and the PMDG taxi lights aren't too useful at unfamiliar airports. Thanks again. Rob Padgham
  2. Hi all. Sorry if this is covered elsewhere - if it is I can't find it! I would like to offset my flying time so that I can fly in daylight, (easily done in FSX > Time & Date), but I would like the aircraft to show the true Zulu Time (UTC) on the clock and in the FMC. This would make position reporting a whole lot easier. I flew an Iceland event two days ago, and got so confused because I was unable make an oceanic request because I couldn't work out the estimated times quick enough! I've tried reading about FS Realtime, but the info is quite technically advanced and I'm not sure it does what I want it to. Hope I've made this clear enough. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks. Rob Padgham
  3. That's great, thanks guys. There's some interesting points here for me to go and look at. I did think of hand flying it, but I knew ATC would be barking at me immediately after take off, so I flew direct to the first waypoint. It'll be interesting to see if it does adjust itself as Larry suggests. I will try this tomorrow. I'll also have to learn what a leg intercept is! Hopefully something I already know but didn't know it was called that. Thanks again guys. It's good to know my NGX isn't broken, and it's great to get the support from those more knowledgeable than myself! Rob Padgham
  4. Hi. I have a problem with inputting Heathrow Runway 9R Midhurst 3 Juliet into my FMC. All looks good until I input my cruise level into PERF INIT, when the ND shows that I am to fly a 360 degree loop directly over the end of the runway. I have performed the procedures correctly, having set up the INIT REF, Route, DEP/ARR and PERF INIT. I have asked over at Navigraph forum, and the Mod there has the same problem with the NGX, but not with the 777 which uses the same Airac data. I am using: FSX Steam, Win7 64bit, Airac 1601 and I'm up to 770 hours on NGX Does anyone have an ideas about this, or is having the same problem? Thanks! Rob Padgham
  5. Thanks Joe, I checked again this morning and it's gone! I guess you are right, it wasn't coming from FSX. Regards. Rob
  6. Hi all, All of a sudden I'm getting a Directx 10 frame counter and graphics card report showing in FSX;SE which wasn't there this morning. It shows up right over my menu bar of FSX on the top left and is a cyan colour. It's extremely annoying, and the only thing I remember doing is pressing an update button which popped up when I opened DX10 controller. Has anyone got an idea of where this has come from and how I can get rid of it? http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/eKx Thanks. Rob Padgham
  7. Thanks again Bryan. Your solution above worked perfectly. Now up and running and can't wait to give it a try! Rob Padgham
  8. Thank you Bryan. You're correct - no panel opens when I click the SEC button. I'll give your suggestion a try when I get home this evening. Thanks again. Rob Padgham.
  9. Hi. I've looked everywhere for an answer to this, and I'm at the end of my tether. I have installed and re-installed Reboot (Steam), both times with admin rights. I have started FSX with admin rights. I have activated NGX rebbot via the config manager.(Did this first). I have the Trike showing on the free flight screen. I have started the NGX with both engines off and engines on. I am starting in 2D cockpit mode. I have assigned a Main keyboard button. This is working and the long thin panel appears at the top of the screen. I have assigned a secondary button - this too is working (assuming this will trigger the FO to start a checklist. I have assigned a hard mute button. This is not working as I cannot get into the secondary panel to change to voice settings or any other settings. The "SEC" button on the main panel isn't working. I cannot get it to work. Can you please shed some light on this? I have followed the instructions to the letter as far as I can see. Thanks Rob Padgham
  10. Sorry! Hopefully this will work. If this hasn't worked, please ignore this post. I really can't be bothered to spend any longer on it. If I stay on the centerline of the runway, I'll be fine Rob Padgham
  11. How strange! It showed the pic when I posted but now it doesn't! I'll try again. Rob Padgham *EDIT*: It appears I can only get it to appear in Firefox (or possibly Chrome) . The joys and tribulations of Internet explorer - I'm too inept to work out how to do it! Sorry Chris and thanks for trying
  12. Hi all, I have a problem with electric pylons next to runway 35R at KMCO (orlando). I have posted a picture below. I am using FSX:SE, Orbx Global and Orbx Vector but I don't know how to disable Orbx to see if it's an FSX problem or an Orbx one. Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone else see this too? It's not such a big deal but It looks awful!! Thanks! Rob Padgham
  13. Thanks all. After trolling the internet for a solution to getting Airport Design Editor to work, I discovered a program called NavAid Updater, which updates any changes from the monthly Airac. It's done the job for me. Though it disables some functionality from FSX Map and Flightplanner, I only use flightplanner to load in a pre-saved plan from FSCommander for VoxATC to read. I need to check out the library though, I haven't looked there yet. Thanks again.
  14. Great! It worked beautifully thanks. Something else for a newbie to learn!! Rob
  15. Thanks Izamm I'll give it a try. It's just happened at Munich too. Rob
  16. Hi all, I'm being driven mad by trying to establish on a localiser using vor/loc button. the airport in question is LIEA in Sardinia-Italy, using ILS runway 20. I have set 204 for course, 110.15 Loc freq I am at the correct intercept altitude of 3000' (I'm sure that's what the chart is telling me), but the button won't light up. I can get the Glide path, {specifically) not glide slope (G/P is displayed not G/S) and I am unable to autoland. I tried flying the approach with and without VoxATC (and with vox vectoring me and full ils approach) to no avail. I'm using the PMDG 737 800 and have had a similar problem at Aberdeen (if I remember) but everywhere else is fine. If anyone can throw any light on this, I'd be grateful, or if anyone is looking for a destination and fancies trying it, I'd be interested if it's the same for you! Thanks. Rob Padgham

  18. Thank you both. For #1 it looks likely to be the setting in FMC - I haven't dared touch those yet. I look at it tonight. #2 is a mystery, but hasn't repeated itself since. I'm looking to fly on VATsim and can't have that happening! Thanks again, Rob.
  19. Forgive me for reposting this, I put it in welcome new members because I am one! n=but I got no vies and no replies. Hello all. My name is Rob from Chesham (BOV) and I've recently come back to flight sims after a very long break. Things have improved enormously!! I using FSX:SE with a PMDG 737 800, EZ Dock, and Rex 4 on a fast computer. My questions are: 1. After a number of successful auto-lands at various airports, I've tried twice to approach and land at Heathrow: first time my plane went into a nose up stall from autopilot, (I was looking around outside at the time - that'll teach me!), I recovered from this but could no longer select CMD A but I could select CMD B. I cancelled this flight after not being able to change the route on the FMC mid-flight, which I'll need to learn. The second attempt ended up in a dive also from autopilot, with alarms going off all over the place. I had just attained VOR/LOC capture and had just pressed APP. I wondered if any of you knowledgeable people had come across this before, or whether there's a bug in the PMDG or something. Or maybe I did something wrong? 2. Is there a way of cancelling TOGA after it's been initialised - I was on hold short of runway and accidentally hit the assigned button on my joystick!! What fun! I held it on parking brake as long as I could, but had to cut in front of number one in the queue who was lining up on runway! I'm sure there must be a way of cancelling but couldn't find any info. Thanks for your time, acronyms and abbreviations whilst difficult for a newbie are welcome as it's all part of the learning curve. Happy flying. Rob Padgham
