  1. Yea. Joystick button works for me. Thanks for the suggestion. Dan, it sounds like F2 is working for you. I don't know why it does not work for me. Do you have payware FSUIPC? Harry Yang
  2. Thanks for the reply, Bill and Dan. I asked about key assignment for throttle not because I was using keyboard to control throttle (Indeed I think it's sacrilege to do so flying PMDG aircraft, LOL). No. I asked this because pressing F2 is the only way for me to engage reverse thrust in other jet airplanes. I was surprised F2 did not work on 737 NGX. Upon further investigation I found actually there is no response to standard FSX keyboard throttle control F2/F3. I looked through the key assignment in CDU as suggested by Bill but don't see it can be done there. So actually my question is how do you engage reverse thrust on this PMDG 737 other than clumsily looking down to pull the lever by mouse? I hope there is a better way. Harry Yang
  3. I bought PMDG 737 NGX only a week ago. This is my first FSX payware aircraft. So far I am really impressed. Thanks for the superb product. However, there are a couple of issues that are annoying. Aside from constant CTD's, which I'll ask later. The important issue for me right now is that some crucial key assignments are not working, e.g. F2 and F3 (throttle decrease/increase) or top down view. However F1 (throttle cutoff) works. So it's kinda strange. BTW, these keys are working for other a/c, just not for PMDG. I bet this is a know issue. Please help a newbie.
  4. You are right. I found it. The user "public" is still there after all. LOL. Thanks.
  5. I use ASN weather plus REX4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds. I have experimented with haze option in ASN but see no improvement. I will read up more on this, but probably will learn to live with it if no fix. BTW, I couldn't find the DX10SF profiles, like default, steve HD, steve nonHD, etc., as you mentioned in the manual. I don't have public user in my computer (deleted all users to prevent complication). so are those profiles not installed? Do you have a link that I can download them? Thank you very much for your help and explanation. It's rewarding for a non-computer guy like me to learn something about computers besides playing it. That's definitely part of the fun.
  6. What weather did you have during your flight? Were there any clouds? I just found out that the flicker is cloud-related. It's not there without cloud (I didn't know this because I always used real-world weather). It is also mountain-related. Obviously both has to be present and viewed side ways from a distance to produce the flicker. I don't know whether this is the same as "cloud flicker/shimmering" reported by other people. The flicker is there regardless camera mode, inside cockpit both 2d and 3d, or outside spot and locked spot views. It's only absent in top down view. Switching back to DX9 doesn't help. Does cloud flicker have a known solution? Could you point me to a source to get me going? I use FS Global 2010 FTX compatible for mesh plus Orbx Global Base and Vector. I also suspected it's a mesh problem because it happed after I got the FSG2010 mesh. But I am not a computer guy and I just don't see why mesh could cause this.
  7. Hi Steve, Sorry for the late response. I experienced this around YXC vor in Alberta Canada just north of Montana at 40,000 MSL. I googled this problem and am surprised that I couldn't find other FSX users encounting this. It seems that Cloud shimmering is more common, maybe also runway shimmering. However I found mountain flickering is a known issue in Skyrim called z-fighting. I also saw you mentioned runway shimmering related to z-fighting in one of your 2012 posts. It's interesting that I don't have any cloud or runway flickers. I have also been playing with AA settings in past two days without any success. I wish I could record a video to send over. But I don't know how. Here is a youtube video very similar to what I saw up there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjHt-4Z6PwI Best regards, Yanif
  8. Hello SteveFx, Greetings. I am glad I got the DX10 fixer for the first time. To be honest I really don't quite understand the user manual. The software seems to work great except one thing: I see mountains flashing/flickering like a piece of fabric flapping in strong wind when I am airborn. This is most pronounced when the mountains are in some distance and viewed side ways, both in 2d and 3d cockpit. What could be the cause and what setting should I adjust to get rid of it? Thanks for your help.
  9. I too am having this problem after I installed DX10 fixer. Could you elaborate how did you got rid of it? Where is the libraries included with DX10 fixer? I am using REX4 with soft clouds, do you think the problem is REX related?
  10. I am new to managing scenery library in fsx. I have a simple question: There are 5 duplicate entries both above and below Addon Scenery layer. They are Edwards_AFB, Berlin, Longleat, Istanbul, Reno. Should I delete or disable the duplicate entries? Sorry I have not figured out how to post or link the image of my screen
