  1. I have an Opencockpits 737 pedal that has differential brake capability - left and right toe brakes. a couple of days ago, and for no apparent reason that I can determine, the toe brake function stopped working. I had a spare button on which I assigned BRAKES and when pressed, that does brake a moving aircraft. I use FSUIPC5 for al the button and axes calibration (I have disabled the controllers in P3D) and have tried several times to calibrate the toe brakes again and each time without any effect. The value boxes in FSUIPC do show changes as I press the toe brakes so the controller is working and the connections are also working but in the sim itself, the aircraft does not brake when using the toe brakes. As I said, everything was working up to a couple of days ago and while I am not aware of it, something has obviously happened to cause this disconnect. I performed a REPAIR both to P3Dv3 and to PMDG 737NGX (and made the necessary changes to the INI files following) but still no braking. Any ideas? And suggestions? Many thanks Father Dane
  2. Thanks to all of you for the answers - what you each said makes sense. Many thanks Father Dane
  3. The Bank Angle switch seems to have no affect on the 737. If I set it to the lowest (10) the auto-pilot pays no attention and the turns are whatever the simulator seems to want - often turning at 20 or 25. Is this supposed to happen? I thought the switch would control the angle of a turn but as it doesn't I'm wondering if this is one of those features that wasn't included in PMDG 737NGX. Could you check, please? Thanks Father Dane
  4. PS - regarding the update. A message above said four files were replaced. can you tell me what these files are and what they correct or adjust, please? How critical are they? Many Thanks Father Dane
  5. Thank you for the clarification. But I will have to wait until I have more time before installing the update as it takes a long time to line up and size the display panels to each location on the Main Instrument Panel. I must also consider the break-down with the add-on hardware and resolve that as well - but that should be simpler. Thank you for assisting me and for the explanation. Father Dane
  6. Hello After installing the update through the PMDG Operations Centre, I entered P3Dv4 in the normal manner (I start Active Sky first). Once P3D has loaded I select my saved scenario - a PMDG Ryanair 737-800. Once that loaded, I saw all the panels had changed. I use a home-built simulator and have monitors to show the PD and other display units, and all the placement settings had changed. It would have required a total replacement and re-calculation to restore the panels to their proper state. In addition, I use a throttle quadrant from Flight Simulator Centre, and this would not connect. I also use OC4BA to connect and control several panels from Opencockpits and this too, would not work. I tried reinstalling OC4BA and it wouldn't work so in frustration I simply performed an install of the main PMDG and selected restore/repair and then after adding the lines back in the ini file (SDK Broadcast) I re-started the computer, re-entered PMDG and found everything back to normal with my original scenario. I have to say that this is the first time this has happened with an update from PMDG so it took me by surprise. Previous updates did not disturb my settings as this latest one did. So, the PMDG Operations Centre is still announcing an update but now I am ignoring it as it simply takes too long to repair the damage to the rest of my system. What I would like is a way to save all my panel states before installing an update - is there a way to do all this? Sorry to have to report this, but as I said, it took me quite by surprise. I hope this helps. Father Dane
  7. Hello I saw the PMDG 737NGX update this morning on the Ops Centre and went ahead and installed it. However, when I entered P3D and loaded the PMDG livery I use, all my saved panels were gone and all the settings had changed. I also noticed that some addons I have didn't work either. The only thing I could do was to restore my whole system to a restore point of a couple of days ago and that corrected all the errors and disconnects. Was anyone at PMDG aware of this effect with the new update? Previous updates did not have such a catastrophic effect on my sim as this one did so I wonder if someone needs to be made aware of it. In the meantime, I am not installing any PMDG updates until this can be resolved as the result is not good. Sorry Father Dane
  8. Hello Chris Thank you for the excellent assistance. Your instructions were clear. I had never thought of macros for FSUIPC but they were as easy as you said they would be. I ended up writing my own (I did one for the IRS and feeling bold, I did one for the RTO) and this is what I did (in case it is of use to others): File Name: PMDG-IRS.MCRO [Macros] Module="PMDG_737NGX.dll" 1=irs-l-nav=RX27530*X8bcc,31 2=irs-l-off=RX27530*X8bcc 3=irs-r-nav=RX27550*X8bcc,31 4=irs-r-off=RX27550*X8bcc File Name: PMDG-RTO.MCRO [Macros] Module="PMDG_737NGX.dll" 1=rto-set=RX22a20*X8bcc,31 2=rto-off=RX22a20*X8bcc So, you have helped me to solve TWO problems, and for this I am very grateful. I understand FSUIPC a lot better than I did before. Many thanks to you
  9. Hello Chris I did as you instructed and I assigned one button to switch the L IRS selector to NAV and another to turn it off. Same for the right. It works just as you said it would but only in the 3D cockpit. My setup uses only the 2D panels and I discovered that it doesn't work the same as in the 3D view. I have some add-on hardware items but not a rear overhead, yet. Is there a work-around for a 2D panel setup? Thanks for your help
  10. Thank you - I will give this a go and see how it works. Cheers
  11. I would like to operate the ANTI-SKID switch by assigning it to a spare button I have on my controller. I have looked in FSUIPC but don't see it there - or if it is, it isn't clear to me. Additionally, is there a way to assign the two IRS alignment switches to buttons as well? Can anyone assist me in this please?
  12. Got it. Thank you for the assist. I made the signature change (nothing fancy) so let's see if it works now. Cheers
  13. Success - thank you! Father Dane (BTW - my user name IS my name)
  14. I have an Open Cockpits 737 yoke that has an autopilot off button. However, when it is pressed in PMDG NGX (P3D) nothing happens and the autopilot remains engaged. I have it set in the FSUIPC but as I said, nothing happens when it is pressed. Is there anything that can be done here? Any ideas at all, please?
