Got the Zin, Tecnam, Socata and Pucara. Did a quick spin with the Tecnam, seems nice. The beautiful thing is when they are installed into the Orbx Library the folders are Addon xml folder format. This is good for backing them up and trying them out in any future version of Prepar3d.

1 hour ago, Rogen said:Let's not forget the honorable mentions of the following items Microsoft have killed, admittedly some deservedly.
- FSX (Sold so well I heard MS actually ran out of packages and licensing keys for a time)
- Microsoft Flight (MS's first real attempted entry to payware expansion, except their implementation was doomed to fail given the small world area and limited aircraft, FSX was it's competition and it destroyed MS Flight)
- Flight Sim World (Yes DoveTail cancelled but only because Microsoft's licensing fees made it financially unviable).
- Windows Phone (Dud iPhone wannabe)
- Nokia (What better way to sell your dud iPhone wannabe than to buy a phone company that then imploded and burnt 10 billion US $$ with it)
- Zune (Dud iPod wannabe)
- Windows 8 (this train wreck took down MS's CEO and head of Windows development, clearly a case of the "Emperors New Clothes" was going on)
- Technet (I really miss TechNet).
And of course Microsoft said Windows 10 would be the last Microsoft operating system version we'd ever need.
Let's not forget
Microsoft Kin
Windows Live Messenger Suite
Media Center
This is what I think when developers announce they're going MSFS only. At least keep minimal resources on Xplane if not P3D. I've experienced every one of those you've mentioned (RIP Lumia, phone) so anything outside of Windows and Office, I take with a grain of salt coming from Microsoft.

Morning guys, got an email from Justflight that the Q400 has been updated.
"Dear Sir/Madam,
Majestic Software have provided new installers for the following Dash 8 add-ons:
- PILOT Edition (for P3D v4/v5)
- PRO Edition (for P3D v4/v5)
- TRAINING Edition
- COCKPIT Edition
- PILOT and PRO Editions Visual Extension Package
The latest updates provide a fix for the copy protection algorithm, which eliminates the protection experienced by users of the new Intel Gen12 CPU. Some minor fixes are also included.
If you log in to your Just Flight account and click on 'Your Orders', you will be able to re-download the software you have purchased to get the latest version.
Best wishes,
The Just Flight Crew"
Didn't get any email from Simmarket for the Visual Extension package but I checked and the update is there too. Should be in the other stores as well.- 1

@13ifs40 Did you download the Open Beta version 8054 from here:
https://hifisimtech.com/downloads/
It should run fine after that.

I have the same scenery and had to use Airport Design Editor (ADE) to mod it and make it compatible. yes the free version does that fine. I just checked my MBPV_ADE*** file and the elevation is at 4.572 meters (its real life elevation calculated from 15ft) and I created an exclusion rectangle to remove default buildings and objects bleeding to as tends to happen with pre-V5 sceneries. You'll find tutorials on how to do these on youtube if you're not familiar. With that I have no visual issues at the airport. A side note, its a good idea to keep your P3D SDK installation up to date at the same time as your P3D install.

I would love it if Orbx would just add an option in the global config to turn the wave effects off for V5.

Yes, Orbx Global , Buildings HD and Terra Flora V2 updated for PBR and V4.5+ design specs would make Prepar3d really shine. If LM could Liscence ORBX to do that for V6, combined with OC as Rob suggested, it would be amazing.

I'm waiting for the release on Orbx Direct. Hopefully its today so I can do some island hops for my birthday.

I had this same issue happen recently and I nearly tore my hair out trying to figure it out. If you have an Asus Motherboard or PC you may see their Sonic Studio app installed with the Realtek Audio Drivers. . Uninstall that. Go in Device manager and disable the sonic studio virtual mixer device. Restart, load up your sim and vpilot and you'll hear transmissions as normal again. I don't know what Asus/Realtek did in their recent updates but the sonic studio virtual mixer device throws vpilot off. It doesn't bother VLC, OBS or any other application though. It's a strange one.

Nice, soon I'll justify all the Caribbean sceneries I bought for MSFS. After this its the Milviz ATR.

The website is molasses slow right now.

Now we have people who can’t move to the new one because of sdk issues, weather engine issues, home hardware issues, missing complex airliners, no gsx, forced updates etc. so a lot of us are in a position where we would love to move to the new sim but can’t.
Exactly, the move from FSX to P3D was easier because what didn't already work was updated by the devs in short order. I've purchased many upgrades of my favorite sceneries to use in MSFS and they are darn gorgeous. But the good looks I get when I fire it up to fly with friends isn't enough to keep me there. Until GSX, PMDG, QW and others bring over their planes and utilities most of my time will continue in P3D. Make no mistake, I think the FBW NEO is pretty great, but compare its visual experience and feel to the start to finish GSX-FSLABS-Activesky experience and I just can't switch over yet. I like both sims and I know MSFS will mature in time, but until that time I see no logical reason to intentionally cripple my functionality just because the hottest thing is here. I do both of them and I enjoy that.

QuoteIn general, there are no big support issues and certainly not yet any compatibility issues with other add-ons due to the simple method of adding on scenery in MSFS. (Lockheed Martin please take note, All you have to do is drag a folder in!)
Didn't UK 2000 use the addon xml method of installation for their recent sceneries? It's pretty much the same thing.

Click on the "Profile" option on the right hand side, then go to "Purchased Products".

I believe I've seen posts where some aircraft have that artifact for older strobe/light effects. Some of the models in AIG might still use those older effects. If you have AI Lights Reborn package it replaces those effects with V5 SDK compliant and frankly better ones. Maybe @simbol could correct me here.

Additionally, we *may* also see future products ported from MSFS to P3D at a higher standard.
Seeing what Flightbeam, Flytampa and MK Studios are doing this may be the reasonable expectation going forward. Do the PBR and other details in MSFS and scale down and release for P3D. MSFS sales pay for R&D and they manage to keep the P3D clients happy.

9 hours ago, coastaldriver said:As far as I could tell there were no significant coastline errors or similar ground shape issues so I can not see any reason now to keep using Vector.
Coastlines were my primary reason for Vector, but having the Open LC's for NA, Europe, SA, Africa and Australia V2, I haven't seen a reason for the extra space, cpu cycles and load time. So I removed it from my V5 install. It served me well from V3 to now but I can now retire it.

Hopefully this shows up on Simmarket soon. I bought V1 there.

then CTD without any message at all..... any ideas what my issue is?
Also navigate to the following folder:
C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\SceneryIndexes_x64
And delete everything in there before starting the sim. I found clearing scenery index files have solved odd issues in FSX, P3D and yes even MSFS. So Indexes and shader cache after update. Hope that helps. -
I'm really going to have to take time to understand this as I have a Ryzen 3900X so getting the use out of all those cores will be a personally interest. Previously they were occupied with terrain rendering so I didn't get pop ups but moving the main thread around I am certainly interested in.

The complete zip for 5.3 is 30GB compared to the 23GB for the previous 5.x releases. This will be interesting.

And you are perfectly in your right to do so. In my case I will buy the $13 upgrade and enjoy flying the NGXu/ QW 787, FSL 320 and Aerosoft A330 out of this great airport. The MSFS version is coming soon according to them so hopefully we'll cross each other on VATSIM over the holidays.

Randazzo from PMDG on demand for P3D products

Since P3D is the basis of their training setups that go along with aircraft sales I think it would motivate them to push development at an accelerated rate.
