  1. I have tried both FSUIPC and P3D with the same results. I have the 6 axis configured with the 4 throttles, speedbrake, flaps. I have tried both ways: reversers past the detents, and no reversers. Multiple calibration scenarios tried. I just unplugged the throttle quadrant, started the sim and 1 & 2 reversers still engage during the first second or two of the systems load. Like I said before, not a deal breaker. I just reset them and enjoy this great airplane. Maybe this gremlin will go away the next time I clean install. In the meantime, I'm still open to suggestions.
  2. No luck so far. I've created my own c&d state and the issue still exists. I created it from the default panel as well as the long turn. Using the default panel state produces no issues until shutdown. At that time, 1 & 2 reverses deploy which trigger the speedbrakes.
  3. Great tip Bud! I missed that somehow. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!!!
  4. Dan, I just re-read your reply. Did I misunderstand you?
  5. I am starting the sim from the load screen and selecting the 747. I am not starting the sim and then changing aircraft if that is what you mean. Is it possible to make a truly cold and dark state? I say this because do you not have to save the panel state through the FMC with the battery on? I do understand what you are saying and I will try it out. Thanks for the suggestion. I will also check out if it does it with the long and short states, because I honestly don't remember.
  6. I'm trying to figure out if I have a hardware issue or if this is a procedural error on my part. I'm using P3Dv4 and when initially loading the aircraft my 1 & 2 reversers deploy. I reset these once everything is loaded up, no big issue. Later on during the startup of engines 1 & 2 my reversers for 1 & 2 deploy, which also causes the speedbrake to extend. I can't seen to figure out what I am doing wrong. This does not happen when I start 3 & 4. Also, when I shutdown the same thing happens; 1 & 2 reversers pop-up along with the speedbrake. . My throttles are all at idle during startup and shutdown. This isn't a deal breaker, just annoying. I understand why the speedbrake is deploying. I have unassigned FSUIPC and used the default mapping and calibration, but this does not change things. I am using a CH throttle quadrant. Other than this issue, everything works fantastic. I was thinking that I wasn't selecting the hydraulics properly, but since it also happens on a/c load I have dismissed that. One final piece of the puzzle: my panel load state is the stock PMDG cold and dark. This issue DOES NOT happen when my panel load state is default, with everything running. If I recall correctly, this has happened to me since day 1. Thanks for your suggestions.
  7. I'd like to hear your suggesrions HT and OC'ing. I have an i7 4790k on an aftermarket air cooler and GTX1060, both are on stock settings and I am using P3D without NI. I'd like to start stretching their legs so to speak, and I'm wondering what type of gains I could expect by overclocking them and possibly disabling HT. I have a home built PC dedicated to flight simming and I use it for nothing else. I feel that I get "acceptable" performance right now, and I'm wondering if I would see any noticeable performance increases. I'm looking for personal experiences with these topics specific to PMDG aircraft, and not just repeating what others have said. So much conjecture out there, and I'm trying to get some intelligent input from experienced users. Thanks for your thoughts.
  8. I did the latest P3D hotfix and the same thing happened to me. Except my gear down command in FSUIPC was also mapped to mixture cutoff in P3D. I established on the LOC for a nighttime approach in IMC and got the biggest surprise of my life when I dropped the gear.
  9. Anxious to hear how it works out for you. Will you be using any YSSY scenery at destination?
  10. I agree totally. Hopefully soon we'll all have a platform that we can really load up on. I had this with the NGX. I never did figure out why it was happening so I just stopped using the pop-ups. I've been seeing this a lot lately. I rolled back my drivers just in case but I haven't seen a difference yet. Can anyone post some actual differences in the two drivers and VAS usage?
  11. Exactly my point. Enjoy this fantastic product by whatever means you can. If that involves sacrificing some scenery to let it run properly, than so be it. NO bit of hardware will let you run with every add-on at top settings. Trust me. This is my only hobby, as it is with most of you out there, and I've invested thousands in hardware and software in chasing the perfect flight sim. You can only go so far before you start having to make compromises. I'll leave it up to you to determine where to make the compromises, but it sure isn't the fault of the PMDG folks. Look at your own setup first before questioning the product they are putting out. Please, research what is already out there and don't just buy into something because some random person on AVSIM or some other forum says it is so. People like Word Not Allowed, Froogle, Matt Davies, Dan Downs, and others are highly respected (if I left you out forgive me). Listen to them. Enjoy this hobby. Stop chasing FPS. Stop chasing VAS. Enjoy the sim.
  12. I have flown FSX, FSX-SE, and P3D for years and never had an OOM or VAS issue until flying PMGD aircraft. Let me preface that by saying that most of my flying before PMDG was done on the Twin Otter Extended and other bush planes. Strictly bush type scenarios and over-water island hopping. Now I've graduated to more "sophisticated" flying and started with the NGX and now the 747 v3. I fly with FSGlobal 2010, FTX global, vector, Europe LC, ASN, etc.. But no individual airports. (I prefer the whole experience as compared to the start and finish) I have my settings pretty high (see Matt Davies' settings) and I have the best of the best in terms of hardware. The only OOM I have had s far was flying into default EGLL, and we all know what a PITA EGLL can be with OOM issues. So here's my point..... We are all bound by the 4gb limit and if you do the slightest bit of research into this issue, it becomes readily apparent that VAS and OOM issues are directly correlated to incredibly complex add-on scenery and eye-candy like photorealistic home and destination airports. I can do full 12 hour flights in the 747 v3 without any VAS or OOM issues as long as I leave EGLL out of the equation. And if I do fly into or out of EGLL, I simply save, exit and reload the flight to restart the VAS. Flight swimming has never been better and the PMGD aircraft have taken this hobby into the next level. I went to the doctor the other day and complained to him that I OOM'd while flying into EGLL. His response was don't fly into EGLL....... Folks, it's an easy answer to all your problems. Work the sim and don't let the sim work you....
