  1. My point is, the purchase price includes VAT. If you do not pay VAT, VAT will not be shown on the purchase price (Even though the website has a prefix of "INC. VAT"). Again, if you check out, you will see that there is 0.00 displayed for VAT. This is because the purchase price you saw was being displayed WITHOUT VAT. We are working with our webdesigner to have the product page "INC VAT" prefix removed for customers that are in regions not affected by VAT. Just to make this clear, customers that are in regions not affected by VAT are NOT being charged VAT. Thanks Russ
  2. The VAT is automatic depending on where you are. Although the product page says "INC. VAT", VAT is still only applied to you depending on where you are buying from. You can double check this before purchase by checking out and having a look at the total (It will say VAT 0.00). Thanks, Russ
  3. Thanks Mitch, To me, it kinda sounds like you're seeing dynamic vegetation as there really is no reason why you would be seeing a "huge performance impact" from just a texture change (and a more optimised BGL). Can you make sure that you have "Dynamic Vegetation Autogen" disabled? Thanks, Russ
  4. Though I'm not sure why it's having a huge performance hit. Something doesn't sound right. What simulator are you using, Mitch24?
  5. From your original post, at first, it sounded like you were over simplifying it and trying to make it sound "gimmicky". Apologies for misunderstanding, the "One of those ways is by adding additional polygons to create the variances in a surface to allow it to vary which parts reflect light at different angles, and that absolutely can impact performance." threw me off, as it can be interpreted in a few ways. Although there are (as you say) multiple work flows in PBR, they are all trying to achieve a goal, more accurately, with minimum room for error. For example, regardless of which workflow you use, the idea behind FSW's is to make the end result more physically correct, rather than an artists interpretation of what is correct. Art is subjective, so the end results from multiple artists can be inconsistent. The great thing about PBR (FSWs workflow) in simulation is that things will only look better and better over time. In my opinion, it was a needed addition in flight simulation for the sake of consistency. Affect on framerate? Sure, but the amount of bang you get for your buck is great. The way Dovetail have implemented it is incredibly clever (Kudos to Dovetail). As a Substance Designer/Painter user, the possibilities and details you can implement in to the work flow are incredible. The end result is fantastic and the road to achieving that result is both fun and rewarding. (I totally edited this post about a billion times)
  6. Funnily enough, it can reflect light like that. Admittedly, the screenshot at Prescott isn't perfect, but asphalt reflects a lot of light when the sun is incredibly low. We've all experienced this annoyance when driving a car at an awkward time of evening :)
  7. I'm not quite sure I followed that... have you looked in to what Physically-Based rendering actually is? I can assure you there's a lot more behind it than you're trying to make out. I've been using a PBR work flow for a few years now. PBR uses realistic shading and lighting models along with measured surface values to represent real world materials accurately.
  8. Hi Chock, If you have any issues with installation, please just jump on to our support forum and we'll find the problem you're having. https://www.turbulentdesigns.co.uk/forums/forum/support/terraflora/?view=all Unfortunately we won't be able to keep tabs on every forum on the internet so if you have a problem, you'll need to tell us. When you get to our forum, if you can tell us the details on how it's failing to install, that'll be great! I'm also using FSX-SE without any issues, so I'm interested to know what the problem might be! Thanks, Russ
  9. I've made the adjustments you requested and sent a reply to you. Try giving it a go now. Thanks, Russ
  10. Updating via the Terminal is something we are working on, so we'll definitely make it a feature in the future :) We can definitely put something in the TerraFlora area of the Terminal to confirm that everything is OK. At the moment, the confirmation of it working is the fact that it appears in the Terminal :D Thanks for the feedback! Russ
  11. Hi Mik75, What do you find confusing about it? You can install the update by downloading the latest installer from your account > downloads area. You can access it here: https://www.turbulentdesigns.co.uk/my-account/downloads/ Just click "Download". Run the installer and it will do everything for you. Thanks, Russ
  12. TerraFlora completely replaces default tree textures. Whether or not you see these changes in a "full fat" Orbx region depends on if that Orbx region has custom autogen. For example, if you only own FTX Global, TerraFlora will cover the globe flawlessly. If you own Orbx FTX England, its custom autogen will likely override TerraFlora in that region. Though this isn't the case for EVERY region. As far as I'm aware, FTX England is the only region that does this. Thanks, Russ
  13. Hi there, No, it's currently not compatible with FSW. Thanks, Russ
  14. Hi all, I've updated the installer so it will now say 1.2 in the info area. Download if you like :) Thanks, Russ
  15. Hi guys, Yes, please ignore it. It's just a text file that I forgot to update. You're definitely using 1.2 I'll quickly update the installer but its by no means a needed update, so please carry on. Thanks, Russ
  16. Hi ms2, Can you show me where it says 1.1? Thanks, Russ
  17. Hi all, We've just released TerraFlora 1.2! As always, thanks very much for all of your support. It's because of your feedback that we've been able to create this update! You'll be happy to know that a documentation PDF has now been added, but you can see all changes and added features here: https://www.turbulentdesigns.co.uk/terraflora-update-1-2-0/ New Features: – Added multiple variants for Fall colouring. – Most broadleaf species now have at least two colour variants to reduce the ‘solid carpet’ effect. This means that were a single species is annotated, you will now see colour variants of that species. This is only apparent in Fall and is quite subtle. – Added Red Maples – We had several requests to add missing Red Maples. We’ve added these as a Fall variant (see above) but their placement is quite sparse reflecting the real world as near as we can. – Acacias reworked: The acacia texture has been completely replaced with a new version and the original canopy plane reinstated. – Documentation PDF added (by popular demand) Here are some shots for you:
  18. Hi ms2, Thanks for the kind words! The new installers will do the cleanup for you :) Thanks, Russ
  19. Hi all, We've just released updates for the Turbulent Terminal and all of our airport sceneries. These updates address issues on documentation, blending and the installation process. You'll no longer be asked to install SODE when installing the Turbulent Terminal. As SODE is an airport feature, it will be included in the airport installers only. Good news for TerraFlora Customers. :) All the details of the update can be found here, along with some screenshots of RealFlora blending in to TerraFlora: https://www.turbulentdesigns.co.uk/terminal-2o3-l35-kmbs-kida-updates/ We're currently finishing testing a new TerraFlora update, which will be released soon. As always, thanks everyone for your feedback and suggestions! Thanks, Russ
  20. Hi guys, Thanks for the feedback. You're correct, the website automatically applies VAT depending on your location. We'll definitely get looking in to displaying before and after VAT so it's less confusing. Our has actually been active and selling for a few years now and this is actually the first time the VAT thing has come up! Regarding SODE - This comes with the Turbulent Terminal and isn't actually needed for Terra Flora. You can skip the installation, but please remember to install it if you're using any of our airports. I could look in to removing the Terminal as a prerequisite for the next Terra Flora patch. Thanks again! Russ
  21. Yes, just vegetation This is a replacement for default vegetation autogen. So if default displays them differently, so will Terra Flora :) Absolutely. Thanks, Russ
  22. Although I've not experienced this myself yet, I can't guarantee that this won't happen somewhere as it's more dependant on how the engine handles alphas when it comes to autogen. If you run a fair test, the performance impact when casting/receiving shadows will likely be better than default, as the models are more optimised. Regarding ORBX HD Trees, there's no reason why the performance should be any different. When it comes to performance impact and shadows, it all comes down to the area you are flying. As you know, some areas are more dense than others and some developers handle their annotation differently to other developers. Some like it sparse, some like it dense, etc. Thanks, Russ
  23. Hi Trix, If you don't like the spreedtree trees from P3D v4, I definitely recommend that you disable them. Once disabled, they will be replaced with Terra Flora trees once installed. Thanks, Russ
  24. Hi Michael! This post from Greg may answer your questions: https://www.turbulentdesigns.co.uk/forums/topic/terra-flora-approaching/#post-3528
  25. Hi AnkH, As all computer hardware and configurations are different, I can't really say "Everyone will experience a performance boost". That wouldn't be true, no matter what the product did. However, I can tell you that Terra Flora also has updated and optimised tree models that replace the default tree models, which now run a lot better. Regarding shimmering - Although you're correct that the higher the resolution, the more potential there is for shimmering/aliasing, but this is what mipmaps were created to counter. I've encountered no shimmering my self, so we'll get a video together at some point to show this off. Thanks, Russ
