  1. You don't have netflix open by any chance do you? I get this exact behaviour when I have a netflix video open on my other screen. Close netflix tab and it goes away.
  2. Since the latest update 1.1.3 performance is a lot better. No worse than PMDG planes.
  3. 2060 is slightly better than a 1070ti, but if you can, as others have suggested, if you can afford it get a 2070.
  4. Thats because YMML 34 doesn't have an ILS, if you pressed the APP button you were doing a IAN approach as indicated by the FAC/GP on the PFD instead of LOC/GS. You're right it starts to oscillate as you get closer to the runway, but This can't be used for autolands and needs to be disconnected earlier. From what I've read, not many pilots use it and usually just stay in LNAV/VNAV and handfly further.
  5. Does radar contact automatically support SIDS/STARS? Or is it like pf3 where you have to manually enter them?
  6. Turn off the hires displays, they literally halve your fps.
  7. OK, thanks for clearing this up John.
  8. I think just the amount of setttings and how it comes with included profiles for most airliners makes it quicker to setup a flight, especially if you're new to the program. I'll admit after using both for a while I can setup a flight in both quite fast, but the learning curve for Pilot2ATC was much steeper for me, whereas ProAtcX I felt like i was up and flying much quicker. It might even just be a case of UI simplicity, but Pilot2ATC can seem overwhelming until you get to grips with it.
  9. Only at night? Cause they work fine during the day.
  10. Got an example with dynamic lighting below.
  11. ProATCx is another good option if you just flying airliners. Pilot2ATC has a lot more options, but ProATCx is nice if you just want something that just works out of the box with minimal setup.
  12. It doesn't do it with dynamic lighting either. It seems like the PBR reflection cubemap isn't rendering any objects at night. It shouldn't care whether they are lit dynamically or "fake" with textures, if they are visible and not culled based on your dynamic reflection setting, they should be visible in reflections like in the tomatoshade screenshot.
  13. Any panel you save can be set as default in the cfg file I believe.
  14. Is there a way to compile them so they are adjustable via sliders? Or can you only switch on/off whole BGL files at certain percentages.
  15. Regarding a lot of people talking about VNAV descent. Pretty sure the 787 vnav descent is an off-idle descent by design. They found that keeping the engines above idle during the descent meant you could adjust throttle to maintain the descent profile without having to use speedbrakes, which ends up being more efficient overall. In saying that, it's still not perfect, and sometimes doesn't want to slow down for speed restrictions.
  16. Yeh it dissapears. It's more about reflecting light rather than light sources. Like with PBR during the day it will reflect autogen/scenery/clouds even though they aren't technically light sources, they are still lit indirectly. A better example would be at WSSS with dynamic lights, do PBR aircraft reflect the dynamically lit ground like the above pic?
  17. Sorry if I wasn't clear, I meant on airports that don't have dynamic lights. Makes no difference unfortunately. I know PMDG mentioned there were issues with PBR at night but they didn't really go into detail. During the day I get live reflections of scenery/clouds/etc from both as expected. Here's some pics to show what I mean. Tomatoshade (Top) vs PBR (Bottom).
  18. I've noticed that at night planes with PBR don't seem to be reflecting anything. I've tried setting my dynamic reflections to ultra but no change. Is this a known bug? With tomatoshade at airports that don't have dynamic lighting, the airplane still reflects light from the "lit" buildings so it doesn't look silly being totally pitch black.
  19. Can anyone explain exactly how the min% and max% utilization works? Mines currently by default on 10% for both. Does that mean if I set 10% traffic on my sliders I'll get 100%? So if i set my sliders to 5% I'll get half the traffic, etc.
  20. Just right clicking twice on the guard to close and open it makes it go away.
  21. Thanks for your detailed response! I've also made a post in the support forum about it. I noticed the issue was usually after the first speed restraint on a STAR. It would be descending on vnav at 240 approaching a 190 restriction, the magenta line would move down to 190 and it would ask for more drag, so I'd extend the speedbrakes, but then the throttles would increase to like 50-60 N1, even though it's above profile and the drag required FMC message is still there. I'm assuming there's no reason throttles should be above idle if the plane is above the profile on speed/height, especially if the drag message is showing. I can provide more details on the exact approach if that would help? For now I've started using speed intervention and lowering it manually to 190 on the MCP, but it seems to have the same problem. I think it might be related to turns? If I'm at 240 slowing to 200 the throttles will be idle, but if i start a turn while still at 230, throttles will increase and it won't slow down to 200. They only reduce again after the turn has finished. Not sure if this is intended.
  22. After watching Matt Davies' video seems there's only 1 real vnav/flch issue on descent where the engines randomly spool up to full power. Take a look at 51:50.
