  1. In case it needed saying again... Comanche. I am also very partial to the Black Square products. They seem to hold my attention much longer than the others since they are all more complex than a single engine piper. The piston Duke is my favorite but you can't go wrong with any of them.
  2. When I've given my opinion in the past I had said TDS hands down for me, as the PMS is just a facsimile while the TDS is the real garmin software. With the addition of Navigraph, I will say this: PMS: If you like to use flight planning software and import. TDS: If you want everything to be exactly like the real world GPS.
  3. This was something I noticed from the very beginning in MSFS. If you look at the satellite outlines of the runways (especially with Google Maps plugin) they are misaligned with the runway and rotated about the center. It seems like a very easy mathematical error to fix but I suppose that would affect all the taxiways and everything too. I find it good enough for GA precision approaches but the satellite visuals peeking through around the runway is an immersion killer and reminds me of older flight simulators.
  4. I have no idea where you are finding all these errors like your last post too. Nick from Black Square is a real pilot so I'm pretty sure he would have noticed if something so fundamental was not working in every single one of his products for years now, and this has always worked fine for me. I have also had zero problems with Turbine Duke power since the update.
  5. Beyond ATC and SayIntentions could be descent subscription alternatives but at least as default ATC is concerned FSX ATC was the only one I could listen to without throwing off my headset. The MSFS default ATC has to be one of the worst I've ever heard.
  6. This is my first topic post here because I have not seen anyone else who has noticed this. If you listen closely it sounds unmistakably like a clip of FSX ATC audio in the MSFS 2024 trailer around the 30 second mark. https://youtu.be/rvzlC4iCtns?feature=shared&t=27 It says: "IFR flight plan is cancelled, radar service terminated. Expect [something] below flight level 120. Squawk 1200." This is very close to what I found in EditVoicePack for FSX pilot voice "J": "IFR flight plan is cancelled, radar service terminated. Squawk 1200. Maintain VFR. Frequency change approved." This could just be an easter egg and I don't want to get my hopes up, but I miss the FSX ATC so much. The default ATC and addons in X-Plane and MSFS sound so terrible and harsh to the ears that I have never used them. This would be a dream come true at least for me.
  7. I agree with everyone here. the DA-42 might be a good airplane in the conventional sense but the Comanche and Duke are in a whole other ballpark.
  8. Wow. I thought the title of this post was some sort of joke but I kept seeing it pop up with more replies. Thanks for telling us about this. I've just been using the Google Maps imagery. A question: does photogrammetry on/off here mean that I won't see 3D cities in game, or just what image tiles is loaded from the server?
  9. Since you seemed to be having more problems with the engines than some of us, did you see this post on the Just Flight support forum? https://community.justflight.com/topic/6599/if-you-have-engine-problem-check-your-bindings-honeycomb-bravo I'm glad the mixture control will be more tame now, but the way you make it sound is much worse than what I think a lot of us were experiencing since it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the aircraft at all. It certainly would not be the first time a control binding issue caught me off guard.
  10. I've been paying more attention to this over the weekend, and I have seen zero evidence of this. The engine's power remains at maximum through 20,000 ft and beyond, with no chance of quitting at full throttle. In the nicest way possible, can you just lean the mixtures above the critical altitude and mind your throttles on the way down like the rest of us are seemingly doing? On the descent, air pressure will always be increasing so once you've set descent power engine performance should only increase from there. There's just no reason to be afraid of this aircraft dying on you, in my experience. I haven't had it happen once without trying to make it happen because of this thread.
  11. Low thrust detectors only detect a difference in thrust (measured by pitot tubes) between engines, so If they are both set exactly the same in the sim, the lights will not illuminate.
  12. I think what people are forgetting is that turbos are not magical MP boosting machines. They require high velocity exhaust gases to work. When you pull the power back for descent (or when power starts to degrade at overly rich mixture settings in climb) the turbos slow down... When the turbos slow down, they no longer make full boost... When they no longer make full boost (and the absolute pressure gate is closed) the exhaust slows down... When the exhaust slows down, the turbos slow down... ...and so the cycle continues until combustions stops due to overly rich mixture in ambient pressure air. That's why the warning about closing the throttles at high altitude, and the only way to restart the engines is pulling the mixtures back. The same cycle can happen in a decent or any phase of flight if the turbos slow down too much to make a combustible mixture. The fact that this is simulated is really impressive, and leagues ahead of the Real Air versions, impressive as they were for their time.
  13. I appreciate your lengthy response and we all appreciate what you have done for flight sim a lot, but I respectfully disagree about it affecting other GPS devices. The code might not affect other GPS units directly, but when the SU14 GNS is started alongside other GPS's, like PMS or TDS GTN, there is a conflict that makes the autopilot unusable. The correct modes will not activate, and the GPS will not follow the intended course, even if you're not using the GNS. I think this is why Black Square had to disable the GNS, not just tell people not to use it on SU14, because my experiments show that any autopilot becomes unusable if the unpatched GNS is launched alongside it, and it's been this way since last year. I hope you don't think I'm being rude. I hardly ever post on forums because I really don't like getting into arguments online. I know you're the expert and I can't fathom how all your code works. I'm just saying what I've observed.
  14. Sounds like the GNS issue. Did you make the changes to the js file? The Working Title bug is so bad that it affects all GPSs, not just the 530. I have also had no problem with the trim in this aircraft and agree with the others that say it hand flies like a dream.
  15. I've seen a few people say that they can't get full power without "redlining" the Ng. It's possible that people coming from the default turboprops don't know that 100% is not the limit, it's like 102% on almost every PT6, or as high as 105%. Generally, the pilot does not worry about Ng when setting power because it's governed by the fuel controller. Also, I'm really loving the comradery today with this release after the servers crashed. It's like we're all here waiting in line at the same concert.
  16. This is how I used to feel about FSPassengers so that's a very helpful review. I just don't want anything like Passengers2. Maybe that's some people's cup of tea, but I want to focus on flying and read flight reports rather than managing food contracts.
  17. I've been looking for a direct comparison between PACX and SLC. I also want to be able to import the audio clips and music from FSPassengers for maximum nostalgia.
