  1. Hi all, I wanted to share with you how I got rid of my DXGI hung errors in P3DV5. I'm using Win 10 Pro 1909. Amd Radeon VII with latest driver 20.5.1. I highly suggest you back up any files before making any changes!!! In the root p3d folder there are some direct x dll files as below: Some in the D3D12onWin7 folder, and some in the root folder. Assuming you are using 64 bit OS, goto C:\Windows\SysWOW64. In that folder there are a lot of dll's some of them are the same as the ones in the P3D root folder. So basically copy the matching dll's from C:\Windows\SysWOW64 into your root P3D folder and the D3D12onWin7 folder. Overwrite when asked. You are just replacing files that are there, not adding anything new. That's it. Test P3D and see how you go. I have been using this for a couple of weeks and I have not had a single DXGI hung error since doing this. I have not tested this with the view change CTD which only affects a few aircraft, for AMD users. I will test that this evening possibly. NVIDIA users please feel free to try, if you are plagued with DXGI errors. Another thing to bear in mind, you may not have the same files in folder as me, because I accidentally copied a couple of extra ones in there! Just replace the files in your folders! Thank you. Bully.
  2. I use three monitors for my FSX-SE set-up. All three display VC view with the two outside monitors panned left and right respectively. This gives me nearly 180 degrees of VC view. The problem is I can’t get the native FSX SE anti-aliasing to work on those two undocked windows on the extra monitors. Is that even possible or is it a limitation of FSX SE? I was hoping to have my graphics card do the anti-aliasing but I can’t get my Radeon RX 580 anti-aliasing to work. I have the latest Radeon drivers installed. I unchecked Anti-aliasing in FSX SE and selected "Override application settings" in the Radeon control panel's Anti-aliasing section but it's not working. Does anyone have any experience getting a Radeon card to do the anti-aliasing for FSX? When I open up the Radeon control panel and click on the ? next to the various anti-alias settings, most of them say "Only affects DirectX 9 applications". I believe FSX SE uses DirectX 10. Do you think that's the reason my Radeon anti-aliasing settings aren't working? Computer specs: i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 32 GB ram Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
  3. Rumor has it, that the new AMD/ATI Radeon HD 7970 (R1000 /Tahiti), the first representativeof the so called Southern Islands architecture, will be officially released on Dec. 22.http://www.fudzilla....-percent-fasterhttp://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/item/25247-amd-radeon-hd-7900-press-event-on-22nd-of-decemberhttp://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/item/25231-amd-radeon-hd-7970-slide-leakshttp://vr-zone.com/articles/key-radeon-hd-7970-slides-leaked/14259.htmlIt will feature amongst others: A 28 nm structure width A compute power of 3.5 TFLOPS (IEEE754-SP) A core clock speed of 925 Mhz A primitive ratio of 2 prim / clk GCN (Graphics Core Next) shader architecture 32 CU / 2048 ALU stream processors 128 texture units 32 / 128 Rops / Z-Stencil A 3GB GDDR5 VRAM A memory width/speed of 384 bits/5.5 GBps A load/idle power consumption of <300W/<3W 1 8-pin + 1 6-pin power connectors Display outputs: 1 x DVI, 1 x mDP (mini display port), 1 x HDMI Eyefinity 3D PCI Express 3.0 DirectX 11.1 According to this leaked information, the low idle power consumption of less than 3 watts will beachieved by the so called AMD ZeroCore Power technology.Has anyone here an idea, how those alleged features of the new HD 7970 will make it perform with FSX(or the new MS Flight) especially when compared to the GTX 580 ?
  4. Hi there, I saw there is a thread discussing this issue with a NVIDIA card, I check that thread and many suggestions provided are NVIDIA based. I wonder if any AMD user is also suffering from this issue because I am. I'm not able to load into the sim. You can see there is a glitch at a first look, nothing is showing in the aircraft profile. This issue on an AMD card is even more severe than a NVIDIA. When the error dialog appears. It disabled the HDMI inputs so your screen will go death black then showing "HDMI NO SIGNAL". There is no way to get the monitor working again except rebooting the PC. My Specs, i5-8600, AMD RX580 8GB Radeon Driver & Software: 20.2.2 Recommended by AMD Windows 10 Home 1909 Prepar3D v5 with hotfix 1 I'm neither overclocking my CPU nor GPU. I use MSI Afterburner and RTSS for information overlay and limit frame rate at 30 fps. Does anyone experience the same issue on the AMD card and please tell me if you have a workaround for this. If you have the same issue we can also discuss it in this thread. Any suggestion is appreciated. Cheers, g
  5. So i built a computer with an AMD phenom II X4 980 black edition (really good CPU for the price). So i have heard that when you buy a black edition it is a guarantee that you will over clock the CPU. Here is were i run into a problem i can not overclock the AMD CPU, i have overclocked an Intel and that worked fine. well it sort off isn't a problem because i think i found the problem. The problem is that i have a Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz, it is brand new. Before i had OCZ dd3 MHz 4 times 2GB. I bought the corsair to see if i could over clock and get a stable over clock. So i Over clocked the AMD CPU at 4.01 GHz with the DRAM at 1333 and i got it stable for about 4 hours, I was using prime95. Long story short I got a blue screen when I was on FSX and then i put the bios at default. That was like a Month after when I Overclocked My AMD Phenom II X4 980. I made some research and people have a MHz ram with their AMD Phenom II x4 CPU and they over clocked it and got it stable. So this is my question the FSX hardware community those who has AMD. Will i get a more stable Over Clock if i buy this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145340. I am very skeptical that i will get a stable OC because i have gone through the corsair Dominator and that was hopeless and my OCZ RAM.I would Love some feedback from AMD usershere are some forums that i foundhttp://www.techpowerup.com/142432/AMD-Readies-3.70-GHz-Phenom-II-X4-980-Black-Edition-Processor.htmlhttp://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155753Specs:Amd Phenom II X4 980 3.7 Ghz Nivida Gts 2508gb of ram (corsair dominator DDR3 1600)ASUS: M4A487TD EVO Mother Board2x western digital 500gbCorsair 650 watt
  6. Hello all, I have a AMD Radeon RX6900XT GPU and I am currently using adrenalin 21.11.3 software as this version supports MSFS Game of the Year Edition. There are newer versions available, and the last one was released on 18th January 2022 (22.1.2). Should I update the lastest one or should I stick with the one I currently have? What do you think? Do the newer versions have backwards compatibility (for MSFS)? I currently have no issues whatsoever with the version I have.
  7. I am looking for help to get my system to run FSX above 15+ FPS (even mid 20's would be awesome). It stutters and under performs especially at FSDT KORD. 8. Ill cut straight to the chase, I know my system can run it just fine, but will it be able to get to a good FPS? Here are my specs (Its a laptop I know, I'm building my own pc in Christmas however.) ROG G752VT Intel I7 6700 2.6GHz 4 core CPU 16 Gigs RAM GTX 970M
  9. Hello. To start off, I have tried many fixes for this issue. I've tried affinity mask - this only results in the main one core being used 100%, and setting priority - does nothing. In X-Plane, I get even usage across all cores, however, in p3d, I get 10-25 fps in a pmdg747 (My friend has the same specs but a different brand of cpu, intel) and gets 40-50 fps in a 747 cockpit with flytampa boston. Now, I need to find a fix so my aircraft will balance usage across all cores. I am really confused. I have hyper threading on, and it usually uses all cores at cruise, but usually has the work put on 0,4, and 6. On the ground, core 0 is at 100% while the others are at 10-20%. CAM, my CPU monitoring software shows my cpu load as 50-60-90 percent mid flight and I still get really bad fps, 10-30 mid flight. Could overclocking help? or how can I fix this? Buy a new intel rig? Please help!
