Hi everyone. Yesterday I installed a Miami International add-on scenery, and FS9 didn't like it to say the least. You could set the starting airport as MIA with the default Cessna from the opening screen, and it would open just fine. But if you changed the location to a gate, changed the aircraft, changed the weather, or even the time, once you hit the "Fly Now" button, FS9 would crash. I uninstalled the scenery and that didn't work. I even unstalled and reinstalled FS9 and it still crashes every time. How do I fix this?

I'm trying to set up Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (fs9) with Windows 10 (HP computer if it matters) and having issues. It didn't give me any problem to install, but it won't run. At one point it told me something about permissions, and I've tried right clicking and running as admin but still won't open at all. Any more suggestions to try? I'm totally new to this and fairly tech illiterate, so please dumb it down for me as much as possible. It's for my 12yo son who is eager to get started. 🙂

I've recently tried Prepar3D and did not like it. My PC did not run it well and the visually... my FS9 with addons looked better. Not even sure I should upgrade just for the hype. But I have yet to try X-Plane 11. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you. Happy flying!

Hello, my name is Paul, I am new and very inexperienced at using forums, so if I am not going about this properly my apologies. I want to know if there are any books about the programming or how to program FS9 and FSX? I want to learn how it all works and start learning how to manipulate, change and/or upgarde the programs, and how to create aircraft, scenery. AI etc? So if anyone can tell me if there are actually book on how to do this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you -
Hi everyone. Congrats for this wonderful site. I'm using avsim since the beginning or so. After the hack there are so many files lost. Recently my pc was fried by a lightning and lost everything 😞 I know we are in 2018 but i'm a lover of fs9 and i have a lot of payware including classic simflyer airports. One file i looking for is the simflyers KLAS crosswind AFCAD. It was here after the hack and now is gone. May someone help me to find this file? much apreciated. Sorry for my english i'm a spanish guy. Thank you

Hi, I am having problems getting my local airport (Doncaster Sheffield) to be shown in FS9 software. I have had PMDG 737NG software from way back. Recently I have started to use it in a more serious way. I managed to get a copy of PMDG 737 800/900 which works great and has increased my enjoyment a great deal. However, it simply will not see EGCN and its related ILS. This appears in my Plan-G software with no problem. I imagine the problem is to do with both pieces of software working with different databases. The choice of an 800 or 900 brings a rapid reference to 'loading' database (very rapid), but this does not happen with any of the other planes - though they also do not seem to 'see' the airport and its ILS. Anyone out there willing to suggest a way to help this old codger to sort the problem, I would be extremely grateful. Kind regards bajoxfy
