  1. TLDR Engaging the AP causes the plane to drop a wing and nose dive. FULL Ever since I got the game about 3 weeks ago I have had no issues with the autopilot. I am now on version 1.16.2.0 and the experience of flying has been absolutely ruined. This happened in light default GA planes. Mostly the (steam gauge) C172 and the Cub. I plan a flight using the GPS. In the AP I enter ALT=3500, VS=500FPM, make sure the primary souce is GPS. The usual. I take off and fly manually until cruise altitude, make sure its all trimmed and engage the AP.....and then the fun starts...😏 Immediately the airplane drops a wing, the trim goes full nose down in less than a second and the plane heads towards the ground in a dive. This was in the C172. I then tried the Cub. Same thing. I did a test where I planned a GPS flight but deliberately went off course and then engaged AP to see how it would capture the magenta line. It corrected well for a few seconds and then went ballistic and flipped the plane around the sky before diving again. I'm out of ideas. More baffling is that just two days ago the game was just fine (same version 1.16.2.0), the AP was fine. So I cannot point a finger at the update. Would be grateful for any ideas. Below are two videos I shot. They are very short (under a minute). Please check them out to see what I mean. Thanks for any advice! C172 CUB
  2. Hi all, The newest update (which is great since we can pop out the gauge now) of the Reality XP GNS 430 won't couple with the autopilot in GPS mode but does couple in VLOC mode. So if I fly a GPS approach to an airport and hit the "Nav" button on the Saitek autopilot, the "NAV" button blinks and the annunciator shows that its armed but not coupled. If I continue to the Final Approach Fix and hit the "APR" (Approach) button then both the "NAV" and "APR" lights blink and the annunciator shows that the approach is armed but not coupled. Interestingly the simulator responds as if it was properly coupled. When I fly an ILS and I switch from "GPS" mode to "VLOC" mode, and press the "APR" button, then both "APR" and "NAV" lights come on solid and the annunciator shows that the approach is coupled, and the simulator responds as expected. I've included a link to a video that shows the situation for both the GPS approach and VLOC ILS approach. Just click here;http://marhar98.100webspace.net/forum_pics/RXP_Issue.mp4 Thanks for your help.
  3. Hi I recently bought the updated Cessna 337 and found out the GPS does not popup with a mouse click, something I believe the 2011 version did. The manual also mentions the fact. I contacted Carenado support asking if only the Shift+1 key would work, and also pointed to the fact that the two lower buttons on the GPS have text inverted and the only reply I got was this: Sadly there's no other way to pop up the GPS in the C337. Does anyone remember if the GPS opened with a mouse click ? I believe so, as that's how I remember it worked, and the manual does say so. Any help on this?
  4. Hi all, Quick question, I just bought the DC-6 few hours ago and so far I love it! Just a quick question regarding the GPS, is there a way the PMDG 430 can be used for flying SID/STARS ? I know this was a limitiation with the default GPS from fsx, but with some aircraft the P3D gps does fine. I'm using FSaerodata with Navigraph to enter all the Sid's star's and navdata into P3D. This is stated on their website, offcourse talking about the default 430 not the PMDG; How can be simulated SIDs and STAR procedures on the GPS units? fsAerodata implements aprox. 65,000 SIDs and STARs procedures that can be simulated using a new feature available on Prepar3D GPS units. Feature is available with the 'PROC' (Procedures) button. To enable this feature on any aircraft GPS, the user has to edit the aircraft panel configuration file, replacing the gps type from default version 'fs9gps.cab' to 'p3dgps.cab'. Can this be done on the DC6. That would be amazing, Thanks all. Michael
  5. Hi everyone, hope someone can help me here :) I'm running P3D V4.5, and I'm having a strange issue with at least one ILS approach, LFMN ILS 04L I have Justsim's LFMN airport. Oddly, the approach was fine until I started using GSX and shader tools. I don't see the correlation, but the fact is there... What happens is that my GPS assigns the wrong frequency to 04L. I checked LFMN specs, it should be 109.95 but the GPS assigns the wrong one... 110.7 (which is 04R). So whatever I do, that's where my plane lands... 04R instead of 04L. I checked the BGL files with ADE (stock file and the Justsim), compared online navaid data, used the Navaid Sors to correct discrepancies, but the fact is, all the data in my BGL file is correct. So where and how is my GPS getting the wrong frequency info for 04L?
  6. Hi all, I am very close to buying the Reality XP GPS, GTN 750/650 or GNS 530/430. I have some questions, if you don't mind? Any reason to buy the F1 version over these? What's the difference between the GTN 750/650 compared to GNS 530/430 ? I assume that the GTN 750/650 is a newer better version of the GNS 530/430? Is that correct? Do I need to buy both? Any advantage to having both? What's the difference between the GTN 750 or 650? Is the 650 just the smaller version but otherwise the same? Is there anything else you think I should know? I'm fairly comfortable editing ini/cfg files or whatever. Many thanks for your input! 🙂 Bully. PS I'm running p3d v5.
  7. SR22 v2.1 HSI/CDI Fix for SVS and Non-SVS This fix addresses the issues in this thread: I have included to separate versions of this "fix" depending on whether SVS will be used or not. Both are for version 2.1 of the Carenado SR22 GTSX Turbo. If you do not own or use the SVS, use the non-svs version. The reason is that the SVS has a bug that cannot be fixed without halving the frame rate of the SVS. The installation method that I am using does not overwrite any files and can be easily undone if needed. If you do not want to edit any files, rename the panel folder from panel.fix to just panel and replace the files in your install directory. Installation: 1. Copy the appropriate panel folder into your sr22 install folder (this may be different if you use the addon.xml method): ...Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado SR22_GTSX_Turbo\ 2. Edit your aircraft.cfg to activate the new panel. Each livery has its own [flightsim.x] entry in the config. Where it says panel= change the entry to panel=fix or panel=svs depending on which folder you copied. You must do this for every livery that you wish to change. example: Note: The SVS version will continually show the "LOADING" message on the inset map on the PFD. This is a known bug and the fix I found kills the SVS. 8. Hi there. A friend of mine took me for a flight in his Cessna 182 last week and has sent me the track we flew as a .GPX file - and whilst I have been able to "view" our flight on Google Earth, I was wondering if there was any way of importing the .gpx file into FSX to create a flight. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated John
  9. Hello, I'm new to the forum, if you have any suggestions for me or if I'm posting in incorrect forum do let me know. I'm on FSX:SE and am a relatively knowledgeable virtual flyer, but I'm stuck with the following and I imagine this will be applicable to the new MSFS. When setting up a default approach on FSX default GPS, or indeed setting up an approach on the aerosoft airbus FPLN, a couple of virtual waypoints are created with the prefix 'FL' and 'CL' followed by a 2 digit number. I thought FL24 may stand for flight level ie an indication I should be at 2400 feet at that point, but I have no idea really. I'd greatly appreciate anyone's thoughts or explanation of this. Cheers!
  10. On the SR22 v2.1 update with Synthetic Vision the gps is not showing on the HSI/CDI display correctly in the virtual cockpit (always points to 000). The odd part is that it show properly in the 2d Panel view. Edit: Actually there seems to be a complete disconnect between the left and right panels. No flight plan or path is shown...
  11. I'm training in the Xcub, I believe its using the Garmin G3X. I'm having hard time figuring out how to use it, I enter a waypoint for "direct route" or end waypoint, but nothing gets drawn on the map. It should give me a direction heading, and snap a line on the map. I"m flying VFR only. I was just wondering if anyone has seen any tutorials for Garmin G3X, setting waypoints, using its GPS, ect.
  12. Hello, I have an FSX configuration with Saitek radios programmed with SPAD & FSUIPC and the Reality XP GNS430 mounted on the A2A C172 panel. I would like to use some of the knobs/buttons on the Saitek radio to control the knobs (when navigating it, not just to change frequencies) and buttons of the GPS: - on/off - CDI - enter is it possible? cheers
  13. I have both an iPad 2 (WiFi) and a DoubleSight DS-70U (USB) and am using Win7/64.My specific interest is in using DisplayLink to move the GPS in Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX) over to the DS-70U.I have no problem when doing this with the iPad. I simply launch DisplayLink from the iPad app prior to running FSX. I do not have to have FSX in "windowed" mode, nor do I have to "undock" the GPS. I simply use the GPS popup command in FSX to reveal the GPS, resize it and drag it over to the iPad. Works great! However, whenever I try to do the very same thing using the DS-70U, I cannot get the GPS to drag over to the DS-70U in the same way that I can with the iPad. I can drag it partially off the main FSX screen, but I can never get it to fully leave the main FSX screen. What is more, it does not show up at all on the DS-70U.I have tried FSX "windowed" mode and "undocking" the GPS. Only then can I drag the "windowed" GPS over to the DS-70U. But even then, the GPS on the DS-70U no longer updates or interacts with the FSX controls and portions of the GPS go black. If anyone has any insight on how to get this to work with the DS-70U (USB) as it does with the iPad (WiFi), I would most appreciate it!
  14. I am a new customer with a new install of GTN 750. I'm flying the Aerobask Robin DR401. After inputting what I think is a valid simple flight-plan and beginning to fly, the aircraft arrives at the first waypoint, attempts to turn, but seems to lose the GPS heading and continues past the waypoint in a slightly altered straight (but incorrect) course. I notice that as I look at the aircraft instrument panel, it is no longer in navigation mode. Pressing the NAV button on the autopilot resets and directs the aircraft to the next waypoint, but then the problem reoccurs: the GPS Navigation is disarmed, the waypoint turn is missed, and I must press the NAV button to reset. I shouldn't have to do that at each waypoint. I uninstalled the Reality-XP software and tried again. Same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
