April 19, 200323 yr Commercial Member Paul-The 600/700 will be released together in one package, in our upcoming release. The 800/900 will follow some time after that.As for the cockpits- I have mentioned time and time again what the various options are, and they can all fit any of the four 737NG variants. In our releases, though, the 600/700 will have the PFD/ND panel option, and with the 800/900, you'll get the EFIS/MAP panel.Once you buy both, you will be able to choose which panel you like, and fit it in your setup.Cheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
April 19, 200323 yr Thanks for the info, however on the boeing website it says "All new Next-Generation 737 models share the same pilot-centered flight deck. http://www.boeing.com/companyoffices/galle.../737600-04.htmlWhat's the difference between the PFD setup and the EFIS setup? I know nothing about the NGs.Many Thanks,
April 19, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Please kindly take a look at previous messages posted on this forum regarding the differences between PFD/ND and EFIS/MAP as explained by myself, as well as other, even more proficient people on this subject.Best, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
April 19, 200323 yr Commercial Member Paul-I think Lefteris may have misunderstood your question.... Lemme give this a crack:Pilot's Perspective: We have 4 different "main panel views" that you can choose from at the click of a mouse button:1) Standard MSFS Panel View that encompanses everything from the left side window bar to the engine displays.2) Enhanced EFIS DIsplay View which is designed to focus on making the EFIS screens as large as possible so as to give you the absolute pleasure of their smoothness and clarity without including a significant amount of background artwork (backup gauges, etc.) The View perspective is identical to the Standard MSFS Panel View.3) Approach View: This panel view is for shooting approaches (visual or instrument) while sitting in the "proper pilots viewpoint perspective" and provides easy view access to the PFD and ND displays as well as those parts of the main panel that you can easily see while in this view position in the real airplane.4) Landing View: This panel view is a "head up, looking out the window over the top of the panel" view that is designed specifically for takeoff and landing realism. (Personally- this one is my favorite for landings because it looks most like the view I get when landing in the real world!)So... We have had various pictures of all of these views on our site during the past few months. We are constantly updating the site- so I'm sure you'll see them shortly. We conducted a major site overhaul this week, so some images are not up yet...Now, as for your link regarding Boeing's comments on the pilot-centered cockpit being shared by all NG airplanes- this is all true. It does not mean, however- that every airplane has the same display set. The display sets are chosen by the airplane purchaser- and thus the airplanes differ slightly between operators. There are a number of operational and equipment differences between the 600/700 and the 800/900 airplanes, so we felt that this was a natural divider for the EFIS displays also. The 600/700 will initially ship with our current screen layout- then if you choose to purchase the 800/900 you will have the option to switch between the screen modes on your own. (unlike real world pilots!)Welcome to the world of options! The PMDG 737 product line is going to be a constantly growing product! Robert S. April 21, 200323 yr >>The 800/900 will follow some time after that.Any rough idea if that is going to be weeks or a month or two in regards to "some time after"? Eric
April 21, 200323 yr HiI see you have group the aircraft into 600/700 and 800/900. Any chance they will be released all together or in the above categories? Are there that many differences between the cockpits of a 600 and an 800? Regards,PaulP.S. Still can't find that pilot's perspective screenshot.
April 21, 200323 yr Pete,Thanks for the in-depth reply. I look forward to the new Southwest livery on the -700. Eric
April 21, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Gents-the 800/900 will feature a whole new (EFIS/MAP) set of display gauges, apart from the external model differences. As such, it will not be released "just" a month after the 600/700.This does NOT mean we're going to "slack off", of course :-), but we're going to be making sure we have the same quality for the new display type as we're usually carrying.Sorry if I cannot give out more info at this time, but when the time comes, we'll let everyone know!Cheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
