June 3, 200323 yr Commercial Member It might also interest others, too ;-).I discovered that the actual clipping of the flight plan data on the ND, as displayed in the airliners.net pics that you showed earlier, causes a 1.5 fps hit on my computer. As such, I made it optional, now, for those who want it... by default, I leave it off, though ;-).http://www.precisionmanuals.com/public/nd_crop.jpgCheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
June 3, 200323 yr Commercial Member Captains!Would you gents stop asking Lefteris for miracles? He refuses to say "quit" and jus keeps adding away.Soon there will be nothing left for him to do- and THEN what is he going to do with his free time???? Robert S. June 3, 200323 yr Oh man, I cannot wait to get ahold of this bird. I just switched shifts to nights so you all can see me at 2 or 3AM in the morning plying the airways with this when it is released on VATSIM. Ahh, the 737 redeye here I come. Eric
June 3, 200323 yr Lefteris that looks good, how about when in center map mode though, the magenta trackline should extend beyond the compass rose borders when the 360 degree map mode is displayed. Will selecting that menu item("clip flightplan data to compass border") effect that also.
June 3, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Wallace-if you're in center map mode, there's no clipping going on, even if you check that box. :-) Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
June 3, 200323 yr Do I understand it correctly that we will be able to change the colours of the PFD and the leds on the MCP ??????Geeee!!!! You guys are exceeding all limits! Can't wait!George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
June 3, 200323 yr Lefteris, whow, great you could make that possible. I also noticed the other options, very nice.I forwarded the screenshot and the one from Vangelis to the guy that helped me arranging to sit in the big sim occasionally and that translated comment came back :"now, that looks REALLY amazing. You are not kidding me, this is a Microsoft flight simulator product ?"I bet if I mention the approx. cost for the NG, he will think again I'm kidding him :)Michael
June 3, 200323 yr That's good Michael. You know, I bet if we showed this addon operating inside FS2004 to a bunch of commerical pilots that have never seen FS or think that it is "just" a game, they would be floored beyond belief. Eric

June 3, 200323 yr Eric, yup, he already asked me for help choosing a decent yoke and throttle :). So at least now I know a nice birthday gift for him in July.I have to be careful saying that because no one has seen the finished product yet, but based from what I read and seen (screenshots) here I would be very surprised if 737NG wouldn't get attention from the real Mc.Coys.Another important thing are beginner users, that want to learn to fly like the pros with such a product and are then left with 250 page manual and a tutorial not written in their first language. They are understandably next to helpless then and that would be a pity, if this fidelity and details wouldn't be noticed. I have already written a little tutorial example flight from Frankfurt to Munich and some advanced FMC details from Bulfers book, all in German language. Fun to write, helps me to memorize things and prepare a bit. However, we'll see after the release if that turns out to be useful or is maybe not needed at all and was just for my personal pleasure :)Michael
June 10, 200322 yr Hmmm... I mean, it's nice to have these options, but I don't quite see the reason for it...?! Just make them like the real thing, and everyone will be satisfied, no?
June 10, 200322 yr Commercial Member Well...a couple of things come to mind after reading your reply. ;-)1) You must have neglected to read the forum guidelines posted at the top of the forum. You are required to sign your name to all posts in this forum.2) Boeing currently offers about 150+ small options in/around the cockpit of the airplane. It all depends on what the airline wants to pay for.So- yes...in fact...we are trying our best to model it realistically...but no- that never ensures everyone will be happy... :-lol Robert S. June 13, 200322 yr Lefteri! Wonderful job cutting the track on the ND! I became a member of the forum just to tell you that. I've flown the 800's for some time now, so I have my expectations, but it looks spectacular! Outstanding art, guys! I thank you all!Panagiotis Georgiadis,STO, Sweden

Sorry, but I just couldn't manage to have the different forum guidelines of the few dozens forums available here off the top of my head. ;-)>2) Boeing currently offers about 150+ small options in/around>the cockpit of the airplane.
