June 9, 200322 yr I am curious if during Beta testing if you simulate flying/coupledapproaches using only Flight Director Guidance ie Autopilot DisengagedThe reason i ask is i love to fly especially ils approaches using onlythe Flight Director, but apart from the odd one, many of the add-on aircraft, their FD bars seem to be "jumpy" ie do not move smoothly andtheir " resonse times are far to quick compared to the actual aircraftmaking it harder to follow their guidance so resulting in over controlling of the aircraft. Also do you intend to release your aircraft with the option of having either "vee- bar" or "command bar"flight director optionsRegards Mick Denniss

June 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member Mick-as we're already in beta testing, I will allow our beta testers to offer their opinion about that... :-) Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
June 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member Is the movement similar to the Flight1 Meridian? If so, man is this gonna be sweet!Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
June 9, 200322 yr I don't have that plane, so I can't compare. But I think you will be happy with it :)
June 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member Mick,I primarily designed a automatic flight director system, i.e. a system that translates roll and pirch command modes into a target bank and a target pitch. *If* the AP is engaged then these targets are translated into control surface movement (that's the easy bit).Regards,Vangelis===================================== E. June 10, 200322 yr >their " resonse times are far to quick compared to the actual>aircraftThis is usually a byproduct of completely incorrect logic for the FD rather than the inherent 'jerkiness'. In other words correctly designed FD will automatically give you smooth movement.Michael J. Michael J.
June 10, 200322 yr The FD is right on the money, in fact, going by my 737NG training CDS etc I could not find one area that it differs from the real deal. Just one incredible simulated aircraft, you just have to pilot this bird yourself because words alone don't it justice! All I have to say is if you fly PIC 767 for it's realism, then look no further for it's replacement...[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]Are You Ready For The Next Great one? June 10, 200322 yr Commercial Member Michael J.-I was actually wondering when you're going to pop-up here... After all, it's only your favorite topic, and your pet-peeve to match! :-)You'll be VERY pleased with this... Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
June 10, 200322 yr I would just like to thank the Beta testers for taking time to respondup until now the 767pic has been "in my opinion" the only truly releastic aircraft add on for fs2002.I eagerly look foward to the release of this product so that i can compare it to our 737-700,s thatwe currently opertateBest Wishes Mick Denniss
June 10, 200322 yr >After all, it's only your favorite topic, and your pet-peeve>to match! :-)>You are so right lefteris !! :-hahMichael J. Michael J.
June 10, 200322 yr Commercial Member Michael,The FD goes through three types of noise suppression filters...If you are familiar with stochastic numerical simulations I'll tell you which :)I would say that the FD is rather good. You know why ? Because I built it mainly for me...(I am a "follow-the-bars" guy too !) Also LK's graphics are so good that you can cover almost the whole screen with the PFD and the ND and do real IFR (no frame drop incidentally).Regards,Vangelis====================================== E. June 11, 200322 yr Vangelis / Lefteris, As usual PMDG is raising the bar. I have and continue to enjoy all of your Fly! series aircraft add-ons and eagerly awaiting the 737NG.Keep up the great work.Regards,Bob Lyddy
June 11, 200322 yr "As usual PMDG is raising the bar."--Very true, they always to thatAnd, on a side note, i love the phrase about raising the bar for quality on a topic of FDs. A nice little coincidence (or intended pun) I think Mr. Lyddy said it best, we all enjoy your work, thanks a ton!
