Frame degration in VC very bad.

Featured Replies

First off, best aircraft I used in a long time although confined to just using the 2D panel due to below listed problem. Very good job otherwise and the whole team should be proud of themselves. The framerate degration when going from the VC to 2D is very bad (by the way, I start in 2D and go to VC and then problem occurs when going back to 2D). I go from a steady 15 fps (where it is locked) to 1-3fps. I have tried Lefteris's suggestion of clicking on some other icon but that does not work when in full screen mode and seems to not work that well as a work around when in full screen. I don't know what the solution is but I hope PMDG comes up with one cause that VC looks top notch and I would love to use it and the cabin during my flights. Thanks. By the by, my system specs: Win XP Home, 2.0GHz P4 with 512MB RAM with a 128MB GeForce4600 card.

I have the same frame rates in virtual cockpit as I do the 2D cockpit. Anyone else have lower preformance in VC?[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]The Next Great one? Randy,Just to clarify, the framerate degration starts when you go back to 2D, it will slowly sink to low single digits. In VC, it is fine. Odd occurence don't you think?

Randy, have a look at how high the page file usage is, when running thisaircraft in VC.. for some reason, it drives page file usage up over 600 Meg on my 512Meg RAM system...(Alt-tab out of FS, CTL-ALT-DEL to bring up task manager, look under performance).

Yep, it sure does, well at least for us 2, will have to wait till the other guys get up. We'll keep you informed.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]The Next Great one? Hey Randy, Just to let you know, same thing happened to me. When using VC, my system seemed to come to a crawl. I eventually had to reboot. My page file usage went way up as well. Almost seems like a memory leak in the VC?
