July 25, 200322 yr No doubt about it, GO AHEAD!The only thing annoying me at the moment is the fps drop when having used VC-mode. Apart from that it's wonderful! And having bought/used all PDMG's products for the Fly!-series, I can assure you that their commitment and customer service is second to none./Krister Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
July 25, 200322 yr Good to see you're still around Krister!Guess it'll be the first addon I get for FS2004 once it's made to work in that (being elligeble for a free FSUIPC 3 due to having made a decent donation).
July 25, 200322 yr :-roll :-roll :-roll :-roll :-roll :-roll Geez guys!!!! Everyone gets so serious! I for one am thoroughly enjoying flying the plane even though it has quite a few flaws...the point is you can get from A to B and the plane looks great! I also think IMHO that a lot of the setup problems are user error. If the instructions are followed (I admit...most of the male population does not read directions) then you shouldn't have any problems with getting it running.
July 25, 200322 yr Ron,I was trying to lighten the mood here at the OK Corral *:-* , but as I can see from some of your other posts, you prefer to have a shootout (i.e. inflammatory remarks against other simmers).Just an FYI...my simming days go back to the green screen, "stick figure" plane days. And yes I am serious about my flying...
July 25, 200322 yr I'm thinking of making this purchase. I've been to the website----> It's organised.Been to this forum-------> It's got 46 pages. Impossible to read them all. That would make this "Reading Simulator 2003".All I want is to ask the audience!!!!!!!!!!!!!AFFIRMATIVE, GO AHEAD OR NEGATIVE, I DON'T LIKE IT.RegardsJohn KatergarisP.S I do not like reading!!!!!!!! Just in case this was not clear.:-lol
July 28, 200322 yr Thank you all for your help. I'm not very picky about looks and knobs. I have no dought that the customer service is good. What I care about is the FMC. I have to be able to use it to it's complete functionality. Must be able to customise sids and stars for it as well. As an example I can say I wasn't very impressed with the 777/747 FMC where no airways selection was possible. It might be a little thing compared to the overall package which is exceptional but if I knew that I wouldn't have bought it. That is why I now ask before I buy.P.S I would fly an FMC panel around the world but the replays would be boring.:-walksmile
July 29, 200322 yr John, If I were you and I was going to purchase very soon, I would wait for the patch so as to not confuse the first release and where the aircraft is now. The FMC is great, while it is not 100% replication (i.e. every possible item modeled after the real deal) but either is PIC 767's FMC, it is close and you will see some important items in the patch release. Since this FMC uses PIC's Navdata, airways are of course possible along with many other waypoint types like Place bearing-distance Lat Long etc. Realism is the Goal of PMDG for this aircraft, I think you will be happy.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. July 29, 200322 yr I agree with Randy, a hearty GO FOR IT but wait for the patch as to minimize confusion.
July 29, 200322 yr Hi,Well, although it looks like this patch is just about to be released, I decided to go ahead and get it now. I probably wouldn't have made this purchase though if the 'Online License Generator' system wasn't in place. Another big factor in my decision to get it was reading through posts on here and getting the feeling that the PMDG folks seem pretty friendly, and forthcoming about issues with their software. Since everyone seems to be really waiting on the edge of thier seats for this patch, here's to hoping it's a real good one! :-smile12Jimmy RichardsOne Tin Soldier
