July 28, 200322 yr Everyone: I was wondering how much memory the 737NG requires to operate smoothly. I know 256 megs is the bare minimum, but does 1 meg help, or even more? Keith Whyte
July 28, 200322 yr I have 512 and it runs just fine, of course more memory is always better but not just for FS, for your whole system ;)[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]The Next Great one? July 28, 200322 yr KeithI seem to remember a discussion in this forum recently to the effect that the 737NG uses about 300MB of RAM - so if you have only 256MB you could be disappointed. I have 512MB and it runs fine.
July 28, 200322 yr Commercial Member I believe the memory usage is supposed to go WAY down with tomorrow's patch...Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

July 28, 200322 yr Well I do not KNOW when, that is why I am weighing on the caution side of things, I did not say it WILL not happen, just doubt it. But it COULD be LOL... July 28, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Keith. You can operate the 737NG using 256 MB of RAM, but you will need to make some visual sacrifices with your sliders. I was operating the airplane on a test machine with 256MB and a P4 1.7 and it ran quite nicely.I recently upgraded that same machine to 768MB and it made a significant difference. I am now able to use the airplane with all sliders maxed.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com

I have an opportunity to pick up another 512 at a great price, but I didn't want to buy it just because it is a good deal. I'll try it out. Thanks to everyone for the responses, and here's hoping we will have the patch by this weekend. Keith Whyte
