July 5, 200421 yr Hi !As you said that your plane would be highly detailed i was sure you would also have a look on the detail of the livery. The Lufthansa 747-400 has a Special Upper Deck, it has 2 more windows on the right side, used in the lavatory.ThanksMarcello
July 5, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Marcello,Don't Worry, our own Marc Harrington would probably kill us all if we didnt get Lufthansa painted correctly ;-)Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com

July 6, 200421 yr hehe sadly this is part of my real world job.If the Lav is ai driven then it all goes into a waste tank and we dump it in the end.if its fliud drivin, then it just has a tank usually 5 gallons, then all the "stuff" gets recycled in till it gets dumped and replaced at the end.Gary HayesI paint da planeP4 3.0ghz w/HT & FSB..GeForce FX 5900 ultra 256MB..1 gig PC3200 DDR RAM..Sound Blaster Audigy w/5.1 THX Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
July 6, 200421 yr "when you flush the toilet where does the waste go when your at high altitude,"Tanks, usually... although large blue iceblocks have been known to plummet to earth when the tank systems leak. Blue, I assume, is a colouring to identify it as waste water. Gary?Dirty water from other sources, however, may drip out of the drain masts under the fuselage. E.g. water in handbasins, tea and coffee poured into drains in the galley, etc.Cheers.Ian.
July 6, 200421 yr "The Lufthansa 747-400 has a Special Upper Deck, it has 2 more windows on the right side, used in the lavatory."Do you mean it has two less unblanked windows, Marcello? You'll note there are lots of blanked windows in your picture. E.g. aft of door Right 2 where the galley is. You'll probably find that a fixed number of fuselage holes are created at the Boeing factory and some are made into windows, others are covered over with a metal plate. Now the hard part for PMDG is to get the toilet windows to become clear when the aircraft takes off and opaque when the aircraft lands (They are controlled electronically to stop people on the terminal observation deck peeking in the window). I'm pretty sure this would be a first for flightsimming :-)Cheers.Ian R>
July 6, 200421 yr That's most likely it. I guess the special part is that only LH has the windows in the lavatories up there uncovered, otherwise people wouldn't always mention it.I've actually been in them while the plane was still on the ground and remember feeling a bit uncomfortable. At FL390, it's no problem though. ;)Cheers!
July 6, 200421 yr Marc,If someone is going to go through all that trouble to look into THAT window just to see you in an Airplane Lavatory... I'd suggest you just let them look :)I mean they'd have to use a very large ladder... it is the upper deck afterall - not like you can see it from the terminal :):-lol Howard H. July 6, 200421 yr Hi !I hope you wound making fun of me or even laugh, but in 1999 i was on flight LH738 to Hongkong, as my father told me about his several trips to asia, he said that Lufthansa as a special toilet in upper deck, he said people can see you #### when in another aircraft. However, i tried to show them my #### in the window, i even was shaking it, but at Terminal B in frankfurt, i think nowbody saw me.Anyways nice Plane for that kind of people who like to get naked in public i think.... heheWhat a shame i didn't have a girlfriend that time....Marcello
July 7, 200421 yr " it is the upper deck afterall - not like you can see it from the terminal"Some airlines have these special toilets on the main deck. If it was dark outside and you switched on the toilet light.... and the guy in the catering truck had just docked with the aircraft...I remember hearing a story a year or two ago where the pilots of an aircraft were taxying up to the gate... and they saw a woman sitting on a toilet through a large window in the terminal building.... The woman thought that the glass was one-way! (The terminal was under construction and screens hadn't been put up). They had a good laugh, I can tell you!Cheers.Ian.
