Hi GuysEach time i capture the g/s for an ils approach using the 737-800, i get the following error message on the fmc :-RW/APP CRS ERRORAs yet, the landings always proceed without a hitch, however, it worries me slightly that i see an error message.Can anyone suggest why i should see this message and why it doesn't seem to have any effect on the ils landing ? There is often a magnetic variation.For example: FMC says course is 180, but the real ILS course of the scenery is 182 (this course is displayed on the PFD after tuning the ILS freq).The course of 182 is the right course, but when dialing this one in the MCP course window, you will get the RW/APP warning...

The reason it is there is because the rl FMC will display this message only when the course on the MCP does not match the FMC data, variations outside of these two have nill effect on what is displayed here. Set the final approach course on the COURSE window on the MCP PER approach chech and you will not ever see this message... Who said little details do not matter? :-)Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. Gary Have you entered the Rwy magnetic heading in the Course and heading selectors on the MCP? Doing this should stop the FMC message although it should have no effect on the landing.RegardsBen (EGSS)Ryanair VA
