WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO GET ME AIRBORNE AGAIN?

Dear Team,The other day, I did all the Service Pack2 windows stuff and fs9-1 etc, but before any of that, I completely cleaned my Fs9 out. With Pmdg 73, I used the removal tool, then manually removed every single Pmdg 73 file I could find on my system. Once I had finished upating my system with SP2, Latest video Drivers,Latest FSUIPC,Latest Active Camera, blah blah blah....Fs9 and Fs9-1, Etc. Etc, I re-installed most aircraft, scenery and utilities. For the re-install of Pmdg 73/6789, I started with SU1.1 and followed through with each file in turn as shown below. Problems began when I put the "Optional VC" Patch in, the installer said that it could not find the pmdg 1.1 files on my system and refused to go further. Now, when I load a 73 aircraft, I have no main panel and the clickspots are inactive.Should I have started with 2.PMDG_737_THE_NEXT_GENERATION.ZIP 30JUN03?Please Tell me where I went wrong and if could I make a fresh start and how exactly could I do that without screwing the whole issue?Would you be able to get me airborne again? The following is a list of all the files I have saved to CD, have I missed anything here?:--- PMDG 737/600-700 Files In Order of Installation 1. PMDG_737_THE_NEXT_GENERATION. W02,W03 and W04 30JUN03 2. PMDG_737_THE_NEXT_GENERATION.ZIP 30JUN03 3. PMDG 737 600/700 Service Update 1-1 26Aug034. PMDG 737 600/700 VERSION 1.3 17Jan03--------------------------------------------------------------------================================================= PMDG 737/800-900 Files In order of Installation:--- 1. PMDG 737 800/900 VERSION 1.00 RELEASE VERSION 24APR04 BUILD 30 2. PMDG 737 800/900 SERVICE UPDATE 1 29JUL04 (This will bring your PMDG 737-800/900 to VERSION 1.1)3. PMDG 737 800/900 OPTIONAL MODEL UPDATE Adds Clickable VC to 6/700 (Requires 737-8/900) 29JUL04 ===================================================Thankyou.

It looks like you did things correctly; it's been a while since I did an entire install.Others may have additional ideas but try dropping a message to the PMDG support e-mail. They may be able to provide a simpler install solution.

Done that thanks George.

Sorry can't help, I would have done it in the same order. You could try removing and installing again. Maybe you missed something somewhere?Your issue does show the 'problem' that first buyers encounter. Like many addons with patches/updates, people that buy upon first product release are faced with a re-install hassle. It would be nice that this group (I'm one of them ;-)) could also download the latest released full install package.Anyway, good luck and hope you'll be flying again soon!Henk-Jan

>Drop a note to [email protected] and we'll see if>we can work you through this.>>Best,>>Vin Scimone>PMDG>www.precisionmanuals.com>http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpgThanx Vin,I sent a couple of messages to Support by email, but with no receipt of messge received yet, I was not sure they had got it.However, in the meantime, I beleive I have discovered the problem; In one of the downloads (1.3 I think), the readme file appears to be wrongly dated as January 2003 instead of 2004, which caused me to try and install it before 1.1.So I ran the removal tool, then re-installed in following order re-booting between each;737NG: 1: NG.exe 2: SU1.1 3: SU1.3737/8/9: 4: 73/8/9Version 1 5: 73/8/9SERVICE UPDATE 1(I did not do the "Optional file" fearing more problems)I then put in the 0410 airacs+sidstars and so far(touch wood xfingers) all is back and working, though I have yet only done one test flight.I will keep U posted because it is an issue that could affect many customers. My point is that as published, the order of installation (like full re-install such as after a re-formats or whatever), is not entirely clear, in fact I found it all bit confusing to say the least.I wonder if these files culd be re-named in a more logical manner, or even consolidated into just two files, one for the 73/6 and one for the 73/8Thanks for your concern and keep flying.
