November 5, 200421 yr Hi there,Just a short one. I once knew a guy that used to like to fly like this.. Sit in, fire it up, put something in the gps or whatever and off he goes with a mighty 747... Gee.... Then he came across to this PMDG NG and started to realize how beautiful its complexity is after all. By using this product he was more and more interested in setting the flight up correctly. The complexity and reality of this product was that drove his attention. Wonderful achievement.Cheers, Balint Nagy
November 5, 200421 yr Word Not Allowed, ahmedem, crvm, Mike S KPDX, Wolfko:Thank you all for responding :)Much appreciated! Im glad I decided to whine about how complicated I was finding the PMDG 737 hee hee. Because your latest replies have stopped me from selling it!I have decided to keep it now and learn your techniques to get it in the air as fast as possible. Thanks again PMDG pilotz! http://www.anchoredbygrace.com/smileys/anakinpod.gif
November 5, 200421 yr Hey There,I can't agree more !!!This is still the only one for me !Happy Flyin...Ed:-sun1
November 5, 200421 yr I kid you not.......it takes me an hour to actually get to the hold-short point at the runway. But in fairness, about 20 minutes is actually spent with both FSNav and FSBuild together building a flightplan. Then its checking winds aloft, departure and destination weather, etc. Planning alternates and emergency alternates along the way......Then its fuel planning and finally, putting the battery switch on. Then its smooth sailing from there. I started doing all this when I got the PIC767, continued for the DF737 and it got even worse with the PMDG.However, by far, the airplane that takes the longest for me to get to the hold short.......is by far the RFP747....another great addon.
November 6, 200421 yr Its cool to see how detailed some of you all get when you fly in FS9. I am nowhere near that http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/boa...con_redface.gifWhen Im in the mood I do go into *some* detail to give myself a wannabe airline-pilot feel. I select an FS9 flight plan and start at the gate with engines off and a dark cockpit. Then I do a pushback and tootle down the taxiway to the hold. Give myself a delay and then scuttle onto the runway...hold for like 10 seconds and then shoot off! Of course all this is easy with the freeware A340, MD-11, A330, B777s & B747s that I use. Thanks to you guys you have told me how to do the same thing in the complex PMDG add-on and I look forward to trying out all your speed-departure techniques although I know I've got a bit of a learning curve when it comes to learning the autopilot functions (LNAV, VNAV are a bit over my head at the moment!) But I cant wait to follow the MAGENTA line :) :)
November 7, 200421 yr LNAV & VNAV aren't that complicated when you get the grip of it. It's pretty easy, actually...
November 8, 200421 yr <<< Damn, thought I was going to get a cheap second hand copy there.....>>>Sorry dude! http://www.nextgenerationrecords.co.uk/boa...con_redface.gifI was a hairs breath away from getting rid of it but reading all the quick-start replies made me change my mind!U tried like eBay or somethin'?
November 8, 200421 yr I for one will certainly get the FS2crew add-on once it's released. Should add a couple of minutes here and there too! :) Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
