November 8, 200421 yr No I don't think it's the same thing.I would imagine pushing the button tells the FMS that you are in TO/GA mode. There are other things happening than advancing the throttle levers. I can't see how this could happen by just advancing the levers.Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
November 8, 200421 yr My impression of TO/GA vs no TO/GA takeoffs involves mostly autopilot modes. In TO/GA, a roll mode is engaged (wings level is the default I believe, heading select is a company option), in addition to V2 speed hold. So you have pitch and roll guidance right from the instant you leave the ground. And this also means that when you take off and enage the autopilot, the plane won't be doing anything silly.
November 8, 200421 yr Commercial Member Using the TOGA button does 2 things that a manual takeoff doesn do:1) The A/T servo will position the thrust levers to set the target takeoff N1. If you've entered a derated value, then this will be set. Otherwise max TO N1 will be set.2) (Not simulated) pressing the TOGA button will update your FMC position. The FMC will simply assume you are on the takeoff runway and set its position to that point. Therefore, if you are planning on doing an intersection takeoff, enter the offset so that the FMC knows you aren't at the beginning of the ruwnay and won't set a false position.Regards,MarkEDIT: you will also get the F/D TO modes. You won't get this without pressing the TOGA button. Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
November 8, 200421 yr Hi BobI don't understand why this button isn't work'n for you. It doesn't matter what CHProducts yoke button that you want to use.I suggest first with your FS running, select the PMDG dropdown menu from the FS menu bar and select General > Keyboard Commands ... and you'll see the PMDG 737NG - Keyboard Assignment window. Scroll down the list of commands to Num 53 which is where you'll see your curent key commbination that's assigned to PMDG's - MCP Set TOGA command. So now take whatever this key combination is and go to the FSUIPC module Buttons facilities page and program your choosen CHProducts yoke button to perform this combination of key press actions, and save it. This worked for me OKRemember, you must first arm the A/T (Auto-Throttle) to be able to engage this TO/GA mode! and see it work'nGood Luck and Cheers!!!Michael DayOttawa, Canada>However the button that>I was going to use did respond to the TO/GA function. I think>I need to tweak around some more. The button I was going to>use on my CHProducts Yoke is the button on the right front>side of the yoke, some people may use this button as a>"trigger" but I want to use it for the TO/GA activation. If>you have any ideas on how to make it work please send them.
