December 13, 200421 yr Yeah, 50 or more is an awful lot. That would be like buying the NG all over again. I'm not sure how much the 747 will be, but if it's even 75 or more I might have to save some change. I will buy it regardless, and I'm the farthest from cheap there is. I throw money away like it's going to expire any day now, but right now I don't make a lot. Personally, regardless of the add-on price, I hope us who would gladly pay for a printed manual are still given the downloadable to learn from since the mail takes a while. I kinda doubt the manual will be done before the plane is close to being released, simply because you have to structure the manual around the functions/features included. So yes, I'd be interesting in a printed manual for sure if it's reasonably priced, and I can still get my DL version in case I can't buy both at once. If not, then I'll just print them! :) - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
December 13, 200421 yr I am one of the lucky few who has access to a very good and, free to use (not officially of course) colour laser printer at work. I used it for the 737 and bound it myself, it was an ok job, but......I would much sooner pay for a real quality 'official' PMDG manual any day. It would also save a lot of lunchtimes on the hole punch at work too !!Very Best Wishes to all PMDGEddy Nichol:-sun1
December 13, 200421 yr I would like to remind you all that, in the golden videogame era, when games were sold in peperboard boxed, every game had printed manuals.Great games (Lucasart's X-Wing, Ocean's TFX) had huge printed manuals in the boxes, and all was sold for the same 60/70$ we now pay for a dvd jewel case with no manual.Sure prices have got higher, but when you do things in great numbers, prices have remained decent all over the world. So i think that 70$ for a printed manual is just a heck of a lot!I would surely spend less printing it myself in a copy store.
December 13, 200421 yr I agree. The main difference is these games you mention are put out by huge companies that are saving a lot of coin by not giving us a manual anymore. Believe me when I say I hate not getting a manual anymore with any software. I think it's crap for a huge corporation like Microsoft or Electronic Arts to give us nothing printed. Even when they do it's a simple installation instruction sheet and maybe a few key commands for the game. It's a scam IMO. The difference here is that PMDG is not a large company capable of giving us a manual for next to nothing. The best they could hope for would be a discount for printing a bulk amount and saving that way. If they lose any money doing so , then it's not worth it. That's why I say a reasonable price would be acceptable by all parties. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired

December 14, 200421 yr End of last year, there was a company in the UK that made - with the approval of both developer and publisher - luxury colour manuals for the Lock-On game. This luxury version was some 25 Pounds (approx. 38 USD at the time) excluding shipping. I think they were moderately successful - they made a small profit.More info at http://www.lomac-manual.com ------------------------------------------------- Gert Wijbrans
