June 9, 200520 yr Actually I am wondering who will release first..PMDG with their 744 or PSS with their 777. PSS is saying early summer and that starts in 11 days. I suspect the 777 will be out in July. Eric
June 10, 200520 yr >>Who will release first?This one is very easy to answer. Active Sky.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
June 10, 200520 yr >I suspect the 777 will be out in>July.People complain that PMDG is so slow in sharing info on their 747. I went to the PSS' website and there is practically nothing about their 777. The product will be released in a few months and the only thing they have is one half-picture and maybe 10 sentences. June 10, 200520 yr I was just checking out activesky website and I'm impressed. The screenshots make it seem that simming with this new program will be prettier than the real thing. I just wish that my PC could take on such a challenge. BTW what do you guys think: I own a pentium 4 1.80 GH, 512 MB ram with a 64 mb Gforce videocard (a lousy setup, I know). I was thinking of getting a 128 mb cideocard and doubling my ram memory. Do you guys think it's better to just upgrade the processor and forget video card and ram? I can't do everything at once unfortunately. I don;t know much about computers, as a matter of fact the only thing I know is that the bigger and faster the better for flight simming!Regards,Victor http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg Cheers,Victor M. June 10, 200520 yr Victor,Remember that ASV will offer you clouds in 3 different resolutions. 512x512 will probably be too much for your computer but 256x256 looks almost equally good but represents 1/4 of the load. I know what I am talking about since I am a betatester of the ASV 5 (practically ready for the release).Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg Michael J.
June 10, 200520 yr Now that's an easy one to answerASVWhile we have just read the End of alpha notice for the 747, we are in the very final phases of the ASV shortly. You see a releas announcement in AS forum very soon, after Damian and the team do some final posloshing and wrapping the product for public release.Prepare to be very amazed, ASV is a whole different world compared to previous AS versions! (no, I don't get paid for the shameless plug).I have been doing much of my ASV testing with the PMDG 737s and I am looking forward to using ASV with the 747 and MD-11 when they're ready!Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
June 11, 200520 yr And the winner is Active Sky V. Out now.Now I can't wait for the 747 to punch holes in the beautiful clouds.Take all the time you need. I know you will do it right.
June 11, 200520 yr Let us just hope that PMDG will not also choose PayPal!In that case, many countries will not be able to purchase.RakhamToshiba Satellite P4 3.4 Ghz1536 DDR RAM nVidia GeForce FXWinXP ProYoke & Pedals CH Products Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP2/Intel Core i7 CPU 960@ 3.20GHZ/RAM 12.00 GB/2x 300Gb Velociraptor@ 10.000rpm/NVidia GeForce 480 GTX/MB Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Corsair Cooling H50.
