November 14, 200619 yr >It runs good enough to be able to take the PMDG MD-11 with me>for checking in the Level-D sim :)That would be so cool I wouldn't know what to do with myself.
November 14, 200619 yr Markus,I hope you also check the systems operations and related things in the real plane as well. From what I know and have experienced the real Level C and D type simulators often still have their own little quirks that depart from the reality as seen in the real aircraft. I have often said that if one is to make a good flight simulator of an aircraft, it's done to simulate the aircraft itself, not to simulate the simulator of an aircraft. There is a difference there. Subtle yes, but it exists :).Tero PPL(A)
November 14, 200619 yr Hey GuysLook at that crazy man left beside Markus! ;)Thanks again to you two for the wonderful demonstration flight. And once again to everyone: Wait for the MD-11, it will set new standards! It really is a big step ahead of the Queen.CheersMartin
November 14, 200619 yr Author Commercial Member Tero, sure thing! We notice differences and inaccuracies between real and level-D all the time...However checking system failures on the real aircraft would be quite difficult, also trying to record all TCAS RA callouts on the real MD-11 would get some people quite upset ;)Regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
November 15, 200619 yr Great shots Michael...how are the frame-rates in FSX if you can release that information?Btw

November 15, 200619 yr >So you aren't gonna include real MD-11 sounds?? #####?What gave you that idea?
November 15, 200619 yr He said they would have trouble getting all the TCAS RA callouts. I realize he meant flying the real plane and getting them in the air as a joke, but it made it sound like they wouldn't have any way to include those sounds. Follow? I know people hate that "female" robot voice, but I happen to like it, especially since it's something new from the same ole GPWS call out. I don't know if the MD-11 TCAS RAs are different though. November 15, 200619 yr Author Commercial Member Chris,I was refering to the advantages that a simulator bring you compared to the actual airplane. You can't in any way record TCAS RA callouts on the real MD-11 so you need a simulator for that. Don't worry, the sounds in there are the real thing and will all be included...Markus Markus Burkhard
November 15, 200619 yr Author Commercial Member Sorry to disappoint you but GPWS sounds on the MD-11 are all male ;) But everything else has that female voice, from TCAS to Tyre Failure...Regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
November 15, 200619 yr "We'll update the site when we're ready guys, cool it..."I'm not one to be confrontational, but the above statement by Ryan seems... I don't know what the right word is, but it just doesn't seem right to me. Not something I would call professional. In my opinion, I would've said something like we will have some new screenshots soon and we're working hard to get the product out there for you all to enjoy, so please have a little patience. Seems better than something along the lines of we'll do it when we're ready...Whoever posted first about there being no new pics on the MD-11 for a year or so has a good point, I must say. On the flip side of the coin, I'm sure we'd all rather have the finished product in our "hangar" sooner instead of the PMDG team stopping production to take screenshots. So with that, I would say to both sides of the equation - you all need to cool off a bit and show some basic courtesy to each other.Regards, Matthew Bellette
November 24, 200619 yr looks like the overhead panel is "flat" and not a little angled like on the 737 and 747 ? i hope im wrong :/ Thorbjørn Henriksen
November 24, 200619 yr http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/161923.jpgThink I prefer the flat panel for 2D.Paul
