December 9, 200619 yr Hi guys:I bought the F yesterday (finally), and I've encountered some unusual problems. The A/T is broken. I can engage it, but it does not show as if it was engaged, and none of the AP modes associated with it work. In fact, when I engage it, the modes are not shown on the PFD. I've attached two pictures from two different flight where I've experienced this. Now, on the first flight, I used the Cold and Dark scenario file, but on the second, I simply created my own using the checklists, so I suppose that can be ruled out as the cause.Any ideas to start troubleshooting this? Thanks,Daniel P.
December 9, 200619 yr helloon both pics the AT seems to work ...you have vnavspeed and lnav plus a mach fixed on pic 1 shown ..are you managing throttle on your own or letting aircraft doing it ....!!!on the second pic again it works but seem you re a little close to flaps 1 mini speed but they re working from what i see ???!!!see you
December 9, 200619 yr Ummm, no they are not... You're looking at the pitch and roll indications, the thrust area is blank.I've used simulations of this sort in the past (including the pax version of this one) without trouble, so I am pretty sure it's not a procedural mess-up on my part.Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpgMember of SJU Photography. December 9, 200619 yr Hey Daniel :-) You need to cycle the A/T switch. This should fix the annunciation status and allow for proper operation.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/162840.jpgBest,Randy J. Smith<<>> Randy J Smith
December 9, 200619 yr Hey Randy, long time no speak...I tried that several times, it did not work... But I'll try once more in the next flight just in case.Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpgMember of SJU Photography. December 10, 200619 yr Hi Daniel,You are correct in that the AT is not functioning in either of the 2 screen shots. In the second shot I am not sure why you still have TO as the thrust ref on your EICAS screen. Shouldn't make any difference but it should have annunciated CLB at the 13,000ft or so altitude you were passing. Did the AT engage at all during the TO? If not what method are you using to engage it? From what I can see in the screen shots try selecting Vert Spd and see if this re-engages the AT's. If you see SPD annunciated on the PFD next to LNAV then it is engaged and you should be able to select VNAV and have the AT's remain engaged. Cheers Steve Hall
