Is it just me? Reverse thrust sounds (external)

Featured Replies

Hi allIs it just me or are the exterior 747-400 reverse thrust sounds a little subtle/quiet? Or am I missing something?Does anyone know of any replacement external reverse thrust sounds at all? They don't seem to produce that loud rumble that they do in the real world (well, you know what I mean...I'd be worried if my own speakers were up to the task of creating the noise of a real 744)RegardsRudyPS not meant as any offence to PMDG developers etc. The sounds are fantastic.

No, it's not just you, I agree. When watching aircraft, any jet aircraft landing, the reverse thrust alwyas has a thunderous roar to it, sadly missing in FS.The only jet that sounds right to me is the 'SSTsim' Concorde on re-heat while on the take-off roll.Armen, your comments please? ;)

Cheat like I do..............BIG (190W RMS) subwoofer and turn the Bass up!! I have a set of Logitech Z-5500s and they're not bad. Run in Dolby 5.1 Digital Movie mode, 96-24bit, and give it some!!As has been said, it's a known issue with FS. I find it with almost every add-on I have, and every version of FS, but the reversers in the B744 are better than most (in my very humble opinion). It's probably also difficult to get decent sound levels recorded anyway - especially full take-off and full reverse - because they are so loud to start with.Rick ;o)
