Greetings, :-beerchugWell, here we are... I figure that any thread with more than 40 or 50 messages is over-stuffed. I guess we'll try not to fill this one up so fast! lolThank you all for your great support on this project... It is constantly evolving, but it's off to a great start, it seems! Many of you have issues you'd like to see addressed...1. I'm working on getting the auxilliary panel to function properly again!2. I'm experimenting with the 2D window to see how I can get raindrops and landing lights into the picture.3. I've been constantly re-evaluating the perspective of this view, but keep coming back to the conclusion that the current perspective seems true to life... to get some idea of my thinking, here's a screen-capture I posted in the old thread (comparison of my view versus a photo by Captain Bill Ball):http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...9d668bfb73f.jpg 4. I have not heard of any gear problems *sigh*, but if any of you notice anything funny, please let me know!5. Anyone have any comments on the sound configuration?Thank you in advance for all your feedback. Realism is a lofty goal, but certainly one worth striving for!Regards,Phil Geddes

Hey Phil,I really am impressed with the sound also. I had to put the engine sound a bit higher than the suggested setting though to hear those wonderful engine sounds clear. Can you hear any brake sounds in the real bird while in the cockpit? I'm sure there must be some vibration but really don't know what sounds there are. Since you asked, if you are able to implement raindrops what about looking into windshield wiper function? It also would be nice to be able to assign ONE key that will bring up the view and HOLD it. The view perspective is great but what about adding a little more of the panel below. It would raise the view just a bit without losing the effect that you want plus the added panel view?Just some thoughts. Best wishes,Randy J. Smith

Thanks a bunch for your feedback!I do have one comment to make on the breaks. There is a ver noticable deep metal-rubbing-on metal sound when breaking in some older 767's... I've noticed this on almost all of United's 767's. I wish I had made a recording of it way back when. I must remember to bring a recorder with me next time I go on one. That would be something neat to add... I'm glad you like the sounds. I think it's especially nice to hear the engines spool during the approach/landing phase. Combined with the wind, I think it sounds pretty realistic. Also, the wind noise in general is much louder, like what you would here on the flightdeck in real life. Thanks again.Sincerely,Phil Geddes

Phil just installed the latest bmps ,they look really good, will have to try the sounds also. What I really like is the zoomable EADI and especially the EHSI that I run on my second monitor alongside the FMC while using the VFR view. The fact that I can make the ESHI as large as the real thing in very high resolution and have a realistic view of the approach is awesome, I just have to say thanks again Phil, an excellent job by you. I guess the only thing I really miss is not being able to see the vsi in this view ,as it helps me alot when flying a manual approach. Other than that I can't think of anything I would change.

Hi Philjust had to add my 2 pence worth. Since adding both the new views and your P/witney sounds my enjoyment of the 767 has doubled, which is truly amazing since the 767 is incredible on its own. I will continue to watch these threads for any updates and would like to add a VERY BIG thank you for sharing your efforts. I am sure my sentiments are being eckoed by all who have had the pleasure of these files, do keep up the excellent work, simply superb. FLY SAFELY wings737

One question:The PW sounds ? Are they better than PIC's own, and why ?I've had the assumption that the PIC sounds are as good as they come ... wrong ?Tero

Terosounds are a matter of taste, the new sounds I downloaded from phil are for Pratt & Witney engines. If you click on the little head icon at one of phils pages it will show a link to his site where you can download the file, follow his instructions in order to reverse the install in case you prefer the default sounds. Hi Phil,I really appreciate the effort you are putting into this project. I use your landing view for every landing now, even in clear weather conditions. I find it much easier to stay on the center line with this view. Just a couple of comments:- I have experienced no gear problems whatsoever with this panel.- Raindrops would be nice to have if it's possible.- I have no landing/taxi lights in this view. I have not seen anyone else mention the landing lights so I'm wondering if this is just me ot is this a limitation of the landing view? Thanks again for your great work!

Murf IF you hit shift 8 or 9 you will get an undockable EADI and EHSI ,I then drag it to my second monitor and can size them to my liking. Here's a pic of what it looks like ,sorry for the poor quality I compressed the daylights out of it.

Phil:Thanks for a great addition!I just have one question: is this also a true-to-life view while the aircraft is in other configurations, or only on approach? For example, obviously it is a lot easier to see over the nose in cruise with your view. Is this realistic?Damon

Hey Damon...It really depends on where the pilot has his seat adjusted to during flight. For example... if you're ever at the terminal and see a 767 sitting at the gate, look at the pilot's head in relation to the panel. You can see that the pilot's head rises over the glareshield...To get the whole panel view that you get with the default PIC panel, I imagine you'd have to neel down to get your head at panel level. After take-off and before approach and landing, the pilots will normally lower their seats and move them back to a more "relaxed" position. So I imagine the view during the cruise would be a cross between the VFR panel and the default PIC panel... Again, this is not an expert opinion. Maybe a 57/67 pilot would like to comment?Sincerely,Phil Geddes

TeroThis edit is a closest impression to the experiences I've had with the 767 w/P&W powerplants... 1. The numerous times I've sat in 1A on a B767-200/300, and 2. The videos I've seen in which the aircraft uses these engines. Combining those two experiences, I tweaked until I got was the most realistic impression. By no means do I sit in the cockpit of a 767 in-flight on a regular basis, so the final-word on reality of this edit would be left to a professional 767 pilot. I hope that sufficiently adresses your query.Sincerely,Phil Geddes
