October 26, 200223 yr Pardon my ignorance but which 'Sound' folder do all of these files get extracted to for the use of the P&W engine sounds ?? I did not see a readme.txt for the sound zip file...Thanks and regards to all.
October 27, 200223 yr Thanks for letting me know!I've fixed that... In addition, I edited the sound.CFG yet again... I think somebody was asking about real noise in the cruise phase? I think the edit I made gives you sufficient wind noise, etc, etc... The only times I've been on the flight deck in cruise were on 747's, so this is the best comparison I have. The "whining", if the engine volume is set right, should be accurate. It dies down as the "growl" becomes louder. I think this is a lot better.Download the most recent fix for my P&W files! Thanks again for bringing the vparam thing to my attention!Sincerely,Phil Geddes
October 27, 200223 yr Sorry to do this to you guys... Download the latest panel update when you get a chance... like a moron I accidentally changed the view_rear_zoom to 90... it should be 85 (you can change it manually if you so desire)... the update will fix this.Sorry for the inconvenience!Sincerely,Phil Geddes
October 27, 200223 yr Phil!I'll post these things here as well, as I'm not sure if you read your AOL email.Last night, after finishing my first longer flight with the PW sounds, I discovered a peculiarity: even if I turn the APU and the battery OFF, a loud whine remains. In PIC original sounds the whine fades away once everything's turned off, as it should.Second, there are no ground roll sounds in your PW-package, although they are written in the sound.cfg: namely 752RODAJE.wav and 752RODAJE2.wav ? I started to wonder this, as I heard no such noise in TO-roll, and discovered that the WAVs are missing. Have you forgotten to add these by mistake ?regards,Tero PPL(A)
October 27, 200223 yr Yes... you are correct, Teropa... I did forget to add those sounds that you mentioned. They are now included! Sorry again for all the little inconsistencies. I should test this stuff more.Sincerely,Phil Geddes
October 27, 200223 yr No time jumps... but certainly some sleep thrown in there... (Yes... seat 1A that is reserved for resting crew =)Phil Geddes
October 27, 200223 yr Hi!I have installed the new VFR panel from scracth but can't see the standby horizon in VFR mode?
October 27, 200223 yr A bit more information: I have included a picture for you to have a look at.Also, this is my entry in the panel.cfg file, under Window36:[Fixed Window36]file=767VFR.bmp size_mm=1280,1024window_size_ratio=1.00 position=6visible=0ident=36gauge00=B767WAfds_0001!Nav1, 1056,617,364,171gauge01=B767WAfds_0001!MasterSwitch, 963,685,58,49gauge02=B767WAfds_0001!Autoland, 813,815,103,56gauge03=B767Wairspeed_0001, 348,873,153,152gauge04=B767Waltimeter_0001, 802,877,128,131gauge05=B767Weadi_0001, 542,839,194,164gauge06=B767Wstby_0001, 982,820,167,470gauge07=B767Wgpws_mute, 1159,885,117,112gauge08=B767WAfds_0001!SMC, 1209,836,70,43
October 27, 200223 yr OBK brought another item to my attention... There is a mis-typed line in the Panel.CFG for the UNITED STYLE view:Under [FIXED WINDOW36], the line that reads...gauge06="B767Wstby_0001" should be...gauge06="B767Wstby" The rest stays the same.I have updated my files with this correction. Sorry for that.Sincerely,Phil Geddes
